At a certain place in the capital city, Bideford, many gathered to witness a moment that would etch itself into the annals of history.

The focal point of this crowd gathering was a new majestic building that stood proudly against the skyline.

The building was decorated with intricate ironwork. Its façade was painted in burgundy and cream colour. Tall arched windows, framed with delicate filigree punctuated the exterior, allowing glimpses of the interior's refined craftsmanship.

Anyone who sees the building would recognise its shared characteristics with the Victorian-style building. It was a fairly famous architecture style in the past but people here had no way of knowing that.

There are so many people present to the point where its vicinity becomes congested. The road was completely blocked. No carriage was able to go through. All businesses centred around transportation had to reroute their paths.

For those who can't manage to get into the building, their anticipation and spirit didn't dwindle. They patiently wait under the morning sun.

As they wait, their gaze mainly wanders to two places- the clock installed within the building and the intricate network of multiple railway steel tracks.

Ten thirty in the morning.

A lone carriage approached the building.

Thanks to the emblem etched on both sides of the door, it wielded an almost magical effect on the crowds.

The people voluntarily parted to create a pathway, allowing the carriage to glide smoothly through the sea of spectators.

The carriage came to a halt.

As the door swung open, three well-known people in the entire kingdom stepped out of the carriage.

At the same time, security began doing its job to ensure the safety of the three.

Contrary to the crowds' expectations, the attire they wore for this event was simplistic and minimalistic. However, the absence of ostentatious jewellery didn't diminish the aura of authority they exuded.

The way these three individuals carried themselves is enough to gain awe and respect. The crowds instinctively know the status of these three far surpassed their own.

The trio threw a warm smile and a wave of hand at the onlookers before making their way to the centre.

There's a press podium prepared beforehand.

The only man among the three steps forward.

"Good morning, my citizens," Riz began. "I am truly honoured to witness the presence of so many of you here, gathered for this historic moment in our kingdom. On this day, a revolutionary means of transportation will officially start its operation. It was an innovation, a result of continuous research by the great minds in our kingdom— their hope to reshape the way we move between the cities within our borders..."

Riz begins his speech.

It starts with some appreciative words towards the citizens before continuing with a brief history of transportation; its effect on trade, communication and mobility of people.

Surprisingly, the speech was fairly lengthy which was not in line with his preference.

However, he believed there was a need to give a clear picture to his citizens rather than letting them figure it out by themselves.

The gathered crowd paid attention to each word that escaped his lips. For some reason, their behaviour acted like fuel. Riz became more energetic to kept talking despite his speech nearing the end.

'Is this why the principal in my school back then can't stop talking?' A whimsical thought crossed Riz's mind. A question that is worth pondering.

Fortunately, he didn't succumb to the temptation or else, the schedule will be messed up. He maintains the course of his speech on its planned trajectory and gracefully ends it.

Thunderous claps erupted as soon as he finished.

But the event was far from reaching its end.

Now was a crucial moment. A main attraction should appear at any moment from the depot.

"Choo! Choo!"

Ta-ta-ta-ta-ta

The familiar sound of a train's whistle and the clattering of wheels on tracks echoed through the air. As seconds passed, the sound grew louder.

For Riz, it was a normal noise— one he had encountered countless times whether on the internet or in real life.

For the assembled crowd, this was their first time hearing it.

They craned their necks, eager to catch a first glimpse of the incoming steel behemoth.

On the platform, from both sides of the tracks, people begin to forcefully push themselves forward. All for the sake of positioning themselves advantageously to get an unobstructed view.

Riz had predicted an overwhelming response like this. Therefore, he took precautions by requesting a huge amount of guards from Charlotte to be deployed.

The security personnel quickly formed a barrier. After all, the king didn't want a tragedy to happen. At least not this early.

The steel behemoth got closer and closer to the station. The object of everybody's anticipation became clearer in their sight.

A collective gasp swept through the crowd and was followed by a crescendo of cheers.

The steam train came to a gradual stop.

As if to announce its arrival, the resounding chug of the steam train reverberated through the station.

The doors of the train slid open, revealing a glimpse of the meticulously designed interior.

The platform was instantly flanked by eager onlookers. Their eyes scrutinized every inch of the train.

Meanwhile, Riz watched with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Although he was not involved in every stage of its development, it is an undeniable fact that he had his hand in its creation.

Riz initially never intended to go big and went straight into creating a fully matured technology. He was fine if they took time by introducing the early version of the steam train first.

However, many changes happened during the development process. The brightest minds in his kingdom keep improvising again and again.

Since that's what they wished for, Riz had no qualms about their capabilities. Moreover, he had the money to fund their research so it's fine.

All he cared about was that they could deliver the result on time. And they did.
