Restart:Untalented Man-Chapter 475: Fight Begin
After Johann successfully escapes, the hidden army he muster immediately takes over the Klover City and settles there.
The process was less bloody than one would have thought.
To be more precise, the inhabitants of the city didn't know they were under new management until the next morning.
Johann's combined forces, consisting of his own troops and hired mercenaries, moved with lightning speed.
They strike key locations and secure strategic points before anyone can react.
By the time the residents of Klover City woke up, they were greeted with the sight of unfamiliar banners fluttering in the air.
The city had changed hands without a single cry of alarm!
The people were initially flustered, but knowing the city had merely changed hands from one Klover to another, they didn't show much reaction.
Life went on as usual, with the daily routines of the citizens largely uninterrupted.
Shops opened, markets bustled, and children played in the streets, albeit with a more watchful eye on the soldiers patrolling the area.
The only noticeable difference was the increased security.
Johann's forces had imposed strict controls on movement in and out of the city.
The gates were heavily guarded.
Nobody knows precisely for how long it will go on. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
They could roughly guess the order would be retracted once the conflict between Johann and the duke is over.
Currently, on the top floor of the building he seized which became his base of operations, Johann gazed out at the scenery outside with a pleasant smile.
His first step in fighting Percival had gone smoothly.
The sprawling city, the heart of the duchy, now falls into his hand.
While the Klover Duchy doesn't consist of only this one city, Klover City was the most important one.
It was the economic centre, where the wealthy merchants resided.
Controlling it meant having a stronghold over the duchy's wealth and resources.
Aside from giving Percival a lethal blow, Johann can use the wealth of this city to fuel his fight with Percival.
Knock-

"Who is it?" Johann asked.
A voice from outside replied, "Master Johann, it's me."
"Come in."
The door was opened. The butler entered the room, but he was not alone.
Johann said in surprise, "Demin! Betto! You're here!"
Contrary to Johann's joyfulness, the two newly arrived men looked at him with resentful eyes.
Demin opens his mouth, "Johann, is this how you treat your allies? We almost got captured."
Johann sneered, unbothered by their anger. "But you didn't, right? I knew both of you were capable enough to escape."
Betto replied, "We had to leave our mansion in haste, with nothing on our hands. You could have warned us! My mansion must have been turned upside down now."
"Calm down, Betto. Once this war ends, I will compensate you with the wealth several times you currently have."
Hearing that, Betto eased up. His anger subsided in the face of Johann's promise.
Everyone knew that most wealth of the Klover was concentrated in the hands of the main line, specifically, it was passed down to the next duke.
The rest only get the crumbs and leftovers.
Even so, the so-called 'crumbs' are enough to give the collateral families a wealthy lifestyle without any worries.
So, one couldn't imagine the amount Percival's family is enjoying.
"I hope you uphold that promise, Johann."
"Of course. You can trust me."
Initially, Johann doesn't want to use Percival's wealth as his card for negotiation.
Unfortunately for him, he doesn't have an overwhelming strength in this loose alliance.
Therefore, concessions need to be made.
"What now? How long are you going to stay here? Perhaps you are already happy with just ruling this city?" Demin asked.
"What a ridiculous thing to say," Johann snorted.
"Rest assured, Demin. I'm not satisfied with possessing one city. I've sorted everything out. Like you, I don't have the luxury to prolong this fight. Mercenaries are expensive to hire and maintain."
"What's the plan?"
"The plan? We go and siege the estate."
Demin sighed. "It won't be easy, Johann. Based on Percival's habit, he must have ordered that place to be reinforced."
"It doesn't matter." Johann calmly said. "No matter how much they bolster their defence, everything will be nought with a single attack from within."
"You have someone in the estate?!" Demin exclaimed.
"Yes."
Demin was unconvinced, "Who is brave enough to carry out your order? All my lackeys there scattered like dust the moment Percival issued the arrest order. Those bastards..."
"It's your fault for employing unreliable people."
"Tsk, is yours reliable?" Demin asked.
At the same time, he begins to search for anyone around Johann who is loyal enough to stay behind in the middle of enemy den.
But none came up in his mind.
"It has been proven. Nobody knows about him except me. He will open the path for us from inside."
Betto, who had been silent up until now, spoke. "Are you sure, Johann? He might change sides by now, and we could all be walking into a trap."
Johann nodded. "I'm certain."
Knock-

Their conversation was interrupted by a knock at the door.
Johann's butler entered.
"Master, the mercenaries are ready. We can finally start sieging the estate."
"Alright, let's begin. With us holding this city, we don't need to worry about the logistics. Even so, I don't want to prolong this fight. Tell the mercenaries that the earlier they break in, the more bonus they get."
Demin raised his eyebrows. "Wow, you're generous."
"Money is mercenaries' biggest motivation. We, nobles, look at the money differently compared to the commoners. To them, one gold coin is already a lot. When I said bonus, it just meant a few extra coins."
"Are we not going to join the siege?" Betto asked.
Johann shook his head, "Let the soldiers we hired go first. We will go later. There's no need for us to expose ourselves early. Our presence should be the final blow, not the initial assault."
