Return to the City: The Strongest King-Chapter 1883 - 1791: Overnight Interrogation (Part 3)
Capítulo 1883: Chapter 1791: Overnight Interrogation (Part 3)
“Officer, it was Zhu Wenhua who made me do it. She told me that the actresses at Jinhui Film and Television City don’t have much experience with kissing scenes and advised me to eat garlic. If the female lead performs poorly, the director might consider replacing her.” Qin Huai said, showing no sign of remorse on his face.
“You guys are outrageous!” Qiao Yutong finally couldn’t hold back, slamming the table so hard the materials on it jumped.
Qin Huai flinched in surprise.
“Officer, no need to go this far. My tactics are child’s play compared to poisoning, putting glass shards in food, or hiding blades in shoes! I’m practically benevolent!” Qin Huai acted like he was being merciful.
Qiao Yutong listened to Qin Huai’s words, feeling her stance slowly shifting.
“You celebrities always seem glamorous on the surface, but behind the scenes, why do you indulge in such shameful activities?”
“For survival.” Qin Huai was indifferent.
“What happened next?” Qin Huai asked.
“Later, Song Xiaodong tried to get the director to switch the male lead. The director was in the middle of filming and ignored him, so Song Xiaodong hit the director.” Qin Huai recounted.
“Why would he want the male lead switched?” Qiao Yutong asked again.
“Because Zhu Wenhua and Song Xiaodong’s girlfriend are rivals, competing for the male lead role. It’s quite normal!” Qin Huai answered.
“Song Xiaodong’s girlfriend?” Qiao Yutong felt a pang of jealousy.
She knew Qin Huai was talking about Xiao Yingying, who cried beautifully like a weeping willow when taken away.
Song Xiaodong even comforted her.
The more Qiao Yutong thought, the angrier she became.
“But that doesn’t justify hitting someone, does it?” Qiao Yutong asked again.
“Maybe… I mocked him?” Qin Huai recalled his taunting of Song Xiaodong.
“Oh?” Qiao Yutong grew interested, leaning forward to ask.
“Nothing much, I just said, you’re just a little assistant, or something.” Qin Huai said.
“Little assistant? Do you know who he is?” Qiao Yutong laughed, then turned serious and asked Qin Huai.
“I thought he was Xiao Yingying’s assistant, now I know he’s a big boss.” Qin Huai replied.
Even by now, he hadn’t grasped what the concept of Mr. Song truly encompassed.
“Also, on the plane that day, I hit on his two wives…” Qin Huai admitted, feeling slightly guilty.
Qiao Yutong softly murmured, “Oh…”
“Then what? How did the fight escalate to so many people?” Qiao Yutong continued the interrogation.
“The people who came later… were called by Zhu Wenhua and Zhang Gangyi. Song Xiaodong said we could call whoever we wanted, so we brought in Fifth Master Zhang and Brother Jin. Sister Zhou was invited by me.” Qin Huai explained.
Chapter 1793: Mutual Betrayal
“So you’re saying you were the ones who called the people first?” Qiao Yutong asked.
“How can you say that? Song Xiaodong had more than a hundred people hidden in that film city from the start!” Qin Huai said.
“But you were the ones who initially brought in Zhang Wu and Jin Daya, those two gangsters!” Qiao Yutong remarked.
“Well… yes. But it’s not our fault. We move around a lot for filming, and without the help of big bosses, many things simply can’t be done.” Qin Huai continued to defend himself.
“Hmph, rushing to solve matters by fighting once there’s trouble, I think Song Xiaodong just wanted to teach a lesson to you bullies!” Qiao Yutong regretted her words immediately, realizing she had unconsciously started speaking on behalf of Song Xiaodong.
“Officer, but surely he was wrong to hit people, wasn’t he?” Qin Huai said.
“Hit someone, pay the medical fees.” Qiao Yutong shot Qin Huai a glare.
Upon hearing this, Qin Huai realized it was over; the police weren’t planning to deal with Song Xiaodong.
Qiao Yutong continued to interrogate Zhu Wenhua.
“Tell me, what happened?”
Seeing Qiao Yutong, Zhu Wenhua felt as if she was seeing a savior.
“Officer, you must stand up for me. That Song Xiaodong is way too arrogant, threatening our Director Zhang to forcibly change the lead actor, and resorting to violence if there was any disagreement. He even brought in thugs to surround us, not allowing us to leave, using private actions, illegal detention, and kidnapping!” Zhu Wenhua only spoke of Song Xiaodong, listing a slew of charges but neglecting her own issues.
“I ask you, what’s your relationship with Director Zhang Gangyi?” Qiao Yutong, feeling a bit tired, spoke weakly, with pale lips and sallow complexion.
“Ah?” Zhu Wenhua was startled, becoming alert.
“Officer, this Song Xiaodong is really too arrogant. Even when two teams of officers came, he blatantly refused to cooperate with your work, disrespecting your police force. He’s involved in criminal activities, and that Sister Zhou is Minghe’s underground boss, they’re in cahoots. There must be something fishy, and Song Xiaodong must have committed a lot of illegal acts. Officer, investigate him thoroughly and send him to jail!” Zhu Wenhua dodged Qiao Yutong’s question without answering.
Qiao Yutong scrutinized Zhu Wenhua. She was a woman in her early thirties, with voluminous curls and a face heavily caked with foundation, unable to mask the deep wrinkles around her eyes. Her cheeks were slightly sagging, and with phoenix eyes slightly upturned at the corners, thin lips painted a bold red, she wore a red coat that exposed her chest slightly, along with black stockings and black high heels.
Back at police academy, Qiao Yutong had studied sketching and face reading, specifically for identifying criminals. The woman in front of her, Zhu Wenhua, was a typical petty villain driven by sharp words and self-interest.
Confucius said, women and small men are hard to foster, but what about a female villain?
“Answer the question!” Qiao Yutong felt a deep dislike for Zhu Wenhua, her tone turning cold.
