Capítulo 1886: Chapter 1795: Perceptive Insight

The two police officers outside rushed in, seeing Song Xiaodong kneeling on the ground, with Qiao Yutong lying in Song Xiaodong’s arms.

“Stop! Don’t move!” The two officers pulled out their guns, signaling Song Xiaodong to step back.

“Step back, stand against the wall!”

Song Xiaodong remained unmoved.

“Quickly, get milk tea, energy drinks, coffee, sugar, anything with sugar, make some sugar water, your Deputy Director has hypoglycemia!” Song Xiaodong ordered the two junior officers.

“Step back! Stand against the wall! I’m going to shoot!” The two officers appeared nervous.

“Alright, alright, I’ll stand against the wall!” Seeing that saving someone was the priority, Song Xiaodong obediently placed Qiao Yutong on the ground, stood up, and faced the wall.

One officer went up to re-cuff Song Xiaodong, while the other hurriedly called for help.

In a short while, a group of people arrived, including the police station’s healthcare physician.

“Hypoglycemia, quick, is there glucose? Coffee sugar cubes? Chocolate? Anything will do, make a bowl of sugar water! It’s hypoglycemia.” Song Xiaodong said urgently.

The healthcare physician took a quick look; what Song Xiaodong said was correct, so he instructed people to hurry and do it.

Before long, an officer came over with a bowl of sugar water made from cubes, feeding it to Qiao Yutong.

Qiao Yutong coughed and finally woke up.

“Quick, help Deputy Director Qiao to rest for a bit.” Director Zhao also rushed over, quickly sending Qiao Yutong away. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

Director Zhao came personally, glanced at the intact handcuffs on the table, and turned around to signal everyone to leave.

The group all left the interrogation room.

“Mr. Song, Qiao Yutong was impulsive, please don’t be upset with her!” Director Zhao let Song Xiaodong sit down and unlocked the handcuffs.

“Director Zhao, Qiao Yutong enforces the law impartially; why should I be upset with her?” Song Xiaodong said, keeping calm.

“Mr. Song, how about I make the decision to send you out directly?” Director Zhao suggested.

“No need, Deputy Director Qiao is upright; if you, as her boss, do this, how will you set an example for her?”

“Ah, Qiao Yutong’s temper, half of it is because of my indulgence.”

“Deputy Director Qiao’s clear-cut style is precisely what should be advocated now!” Song Xiaodong praised Qiao Yutong instead.

“Qiao Yutong has always been very efficient in her work, but this time, I don’t know why she did such an absurd thing.” Director Zhao blamed Qiao Yutong a bit.

“Qiao Yutong dared to arrest even me, which further shows her decisiveness and the spirit of figures like Bao Gong and Hai Rui!”

“Mr. Song, you helped Qiao Yutong before, bringing crucial breakthrough clues for Zhou Tiannan’s case; back then, your relationship seemed good, why did it suddenly become so strained?” Director Zhao asked curiously.

“I guess Deputy Director Qiao might have some misunderstanding about me.” Song Xiaodong replied.

“If there’s a misunderstanding, talk it over, clarify it directly; why arrest someone? Really!” Director Zhao shook his head again.

“It’s alright, Director Zhao, you’re busy, whenever Deputy Director Qiao releases me, I’ll leave.”

“Alright, then Mr. Song, sorry for the trouble!”

Song Xiaodong spent a night in the holding cell.

The next day, Qiao Yutong woke up early and came to the police station, ready to resolve the case.

“Oh dear, Yutong, you should go home and rest a bit, with this case, can’t I personally handle it?” Director Zhao tried to persuade good-heartedly upon seeing Qiao Yutong.

“Director Zhao, it’s alright, yesterday I just didn’t have dinner in the evening, had some hypoglycemia; I ate well this morning before coming, I’ll be fine!” After a night’s rest, Qiao Yutong indeed looked better.

“Come, I’ll show you something.” Director Zhao took Qiao Yutong to his office.

“Director Zhao, what are you showing me, I’m busy closing the case!” Qiao Yutong was somewhat reluctant.

“Quickly, it won’t take you more than a few minutes.” Director Zhao said, opening the computer to play a video.

It was the footage from last night, of Qiao Yutong interrogating Song Xiaodong.

In the footage, Qiao Yutong suddenly stood up, swaying left and right, and then abruptly went limp, about to collapse directly to the ground.

Meanwhile, Song Xiaodong casually struggled, the handcuffs slipped off, his figure flashed, and he suddenly appeared in front of Qiao Yutong, catching her.

Song Xiaodong’s movement was so swift, leaving only a blurred streak on the footage.

Qiao Yutong’s face flushed a bit.

She recalled the evening when she was kidnapped.

“Yutong, do you think with Song Xiaodong’s skills, he needs to be involved in organized crime?” Director Zhao said earnestly to Qiao Yutong.

“Director Zhao, I’ve investigated the matter thoroughly, Song Xiaodong is indeed clean; he just employed some people for security work, all individuals with no criminal records.” Qiao Yutong lowered her head.

“As long as you know, hurry up and release him.”

“Okay.” Qiao Yutong still pouted.

“Yutong, are you and Song Xiaodong having a fallout?” Director Zhao keenly noticed.

“No…” Qiao Yutong quickly denied it, but her face showed a hint of blush.

“I’m familiar with Mr. Song’s matters too; he is indeed charismatic, with many women around him, but still, you can’t arrest someone just because of that!” Director Zhao voiced the unsaid.

“Director Zhao, I didn’t…”

“You certainly didn’t arrest someone without cause; apprehending him isn’t an abuse of power, but if you indeed have some fallout with him, this arrest at least could be seen as getting personal revenge!” Director Zhao looked at Qiao Yutong as he would his daughter, the crow’s feet deepening.
