Returning to the Mysterious Era-Chapter 503 - Second Evolution of Golem Covert Martial Arts (1)
Chapter 503 - Second Evolution of Golem Covert Martial Arts (1)
Of course, that did not mean that Cassius intended to directly absorb the Blood of Immortality.
The Blood of Immortality had been obtained by these direct-line Blood Race through rituals and sacrifices to communicate with Yumila, the True Progenitor of Blood. It was very likely energy split from that Ultimate Dark Form.
If Cassius tried to absorb it, he feared it would produce some unknown transformations. Those transformations would very likely have gone in a malignant direction, which he had not wished for.
Therefore, the correct way to use the Blood of Immortality, just like the flesh of the Moon God, was to absorb its life vibration energy.
He would filter it once, and then stabilize it through his Golem Covert Martial Arts. This way, the Blood of Immortality would not only bring Cassius life vibration energy to boost his strength, but also promote the further evolution of his Golem Covert Martial Arts.
He had already evolved it once when his Golem Covert Martial Arts had absorbed the flesh of the Moon God, and now it could devour the power of another Ultimate Dark Form. It was sure to thoroughly unlock the potential of Golem Covert Martial Arts.
During his fourth time-travel, Cassius had coincidentally created Golem Covert Martial Arts, which specialized in developing the physical body and Qi. Its potential had roughly equaled the top-tier Covert Martial Arts of that world, comparable to one of the Southern Dipper Covert Martial Inheritance.
Moreover, since Cassius had been its creator and had once undergone a Golem transformation, his compatibility with it far surpassed that of other practitioners. The Golem Covert Martial Arts could unleash greater might in his hands than simply using Southern Dipper Red Falcon Fist or Southern Dipper Sonic Snake Fist alone!
Of course, its advantage was limited, and it was still generally within the same tier. But now, in the fifth time-travel, the situation had changed somewhat. When his Golem Covert Martial Arts had devoured the flesh of the Moon God, it shattered that faint restriction and took a most critical step!
The moment that his Golem Covert Martial Arts mutated, it had already begun to climb beyond the realm of top-tier Covert Martial Arts. Thus Cassius needed to supply nourishment for his Golem Covert Martial Arts so that it could continuously advance.
The flesh of the Moon God, the Blood of Immortality, the Totem King... and all sorts of rumored Ultimate Dark Forms that might have left legacies behind in the mortal world. If he could obtain sufficient accumulation, his Golem Covert Martial Arts would evolve. It would no longer remain a top-tier Covert Martial Arts but would reach some unknown higher level!
To reach that level, the only possibility Cassius could envision was a fully unified collection of every Southern Dipper Fist technique: the complete Southern Dipper Covert Martial Inheritance!
Even then, it might even still fall short of that level. His Golem Covert Martial Arts was a complete, single entity, whereas the Southern Dipper Covert Martial Inheritance was a collection of multiple chapters.
The only way it would reach that level would be if some fist technique grandmaster unified all Southern Dipper Fist Techniques into one, merging all essences into a single form. Only then would Cassius be sure that the Southern Dipper Covert Martial Inheritance would surpass a top-tier Covert Martial Arts and ascend to a terrifying, unknown realm.
But who stood the greatest chance of becoming that fist technique grandmaster? He believed it would probably be himself, the one who was born with such extraordinary advantages.
After all, Cassius had just acquired an ancient secret technique called the Qi Engraving Technique. Perhaps he could dedicate himself to studying it, using it as a foundation for everything. He would copy the three major Southern Dipper Fist Techniques and bring the Southern Dipper Covert Martial Inheritance back to life!
All along, his method of training Qi and body side by side had finally borne fruit in both aspects! It seemed that every path held potential, and every path offered hope of surpassing its predecessors.
Cassius felt a profound anticipation in his heart. Of course, he had to take one step at a time and walk every step with care. At the moment, he first needed to extort the Blood of Immortality. Those high-ranking Blood Race of the Alphama Mountains had slumbered for generations in the blood pool, and they likely possessed enormous power reserves.
There might exist some method of receiving a higher entity's power that was superior to what the Totem Shamans, who received a one-off boon from the Totem King through a boundary offering, experienced.
Cassius intended to be more cautious in this matter to ensure he did not stumble and fail at the last moment. Hence, he planned to use the swarm of scarabs to probe and wear down the blood nest. He wanted to see what methods they possessed and whether they truly warranted his caution.
If they proved no more than a bunch of crooked weaklings, Cassius would simply take what he wanted by force. If their foundation was deep, then Cassius would merely knock on the door a few times to demand some benefits. He did not plan to drive them into a desperate fight to the death.
Inside the cavern, the ground quivered slightly, and the wind kept beating against it.
Cassius stood quietly in front of the blood nest, with his aura and Qi fully withdrawn into his body. He appeared entirely like an ordinary person. However, it felt more like the calm before the storm.
A searing, explosive energy resembling molten magma surged wildly within his strong, towering body. His acupoints radiated brilliant light, shining with a bloody hue, as though eyes had grown all over the surface of Cassius's body.
He seemed as calm as ever, yet inside he was like a high-pressure boiler, with his energy ever increasing. If a pressure gauge was inserted into Cassius's body, its needle would likely have spun in a frenzy.
Crack, crack, crack... hiss, hiss, hiss...
A burst of chitinous limbs grinding against each other suddenly echoed from the cavern passages. The floor and walls began to shake, as though a flood had arrived.
"They have come." Cassius opened his eyes at last, waiting for the scarab swarm.
He no longer hesitated and slowly raised two powerful arms. With his left hand in front and his right hand behind, he formed a stance somewhat akin to a rhinoceros beetle.
In an instant, surging red steam poured forth behind him, forming a broad, blood-red mantle. A pair of enormous vultures with wingspans of several meters flickered in and out of sight; their phantom-like, bright-red beaks overlapping with Cassius's arms as they vented steam upward in a wild rush.
"Ultimate Secret Move, Blood Vulture's Beak!"
Boom!!!
Blood-red currents of air churned and rose, swiftly forming a colossal vortex. The air merged as though an invisible hand had kneaded and compressed it into one. It ultimately coalesced into a massive blood-vulture head with a gaping beak, dripping with energy that looked like fresh blood.
A suffocating current of air swept sharply through the cavern, causing the air itself to ripple like the scales on water. The pebbles on the ground and the dust in the air all began fleeing in every direction.
In the distance, the Blood Race and humans that were battling were shocked out of their minds, desperately retreating to avoid the fallout. They felt an omnipresent, razor-sharp killing intent pressing down on them like needle points, with danger pricking at them from all directions.
Even the eyelids of Evil Mother, who was lurking in the darkness, twitched as it stepped back several times. It had once tasted this move from Cassius and knew how formidable it was.
Now that Cassius had grown stronger, that move had also become even more potent. It instilled a dread and sense of menace impossible to ignore.
Screeech!!!
A sudden, piercing avian cry rang out from the vortex of water, shattering stone and carrying down the tunnels.
Inside the gray cavern, Cassius barreled toward the blood nest. His fist was laden with a terrifying kinetic force and penetrating power as he threw a punch.
From a distance, it looked as though half the expansive cavern was wreathed in blood-red steam. A crimson blood-vulture maw surged forward like a speeding train and bit down viciously upon the blood nest!
