Rewriting My Fate in the Apocalypse-Chapter 66: Bai Yinyin’s Dilemma
Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Bai Yinyin’s Dilemma
While the family here sat down to enjoy a meal, Bai Yinyin was cursing in her room. Since communication had broken down, she couldn’t contact Leng Pan.
She had thought that even if the apocalypse had started in an unexpected way that was different from the previous life, at least she could somehow convince that loser to go out to the antique street and find the shop she took the bangle to for appraisal.
If they found it, she would definitely find a way to go to the warehouse to collect her supplies. But now, she couldn’t even call.
What was she supposed to do?
Even though she had been clever and stocked up some more food at home before the apocalypse, it will run out in about a month. After that, she didn’t know what to do.
She also didn’t understand why the apocalypse was different from her previous life. In the previous life, it started with torrential rains, but now, meteorites that were supposed to fall months later have already fallen.
In the previous life, communication didn’t get cut off so early. Even in the third month, people could still call as long as they had power banks and a solar system. Because electricity was cut off due to heavy rains in the first month, she had even bought a lot of power banks and charged them beforehand.
But now, they were practically useless. What was their use when the phones couldn’t even be used? She sat in her bedroom and thought about what to do if she couldn’t get that bangle.
She had placed her hopes on it and never thought about what would happen if it couldn’t be acquired. Things were too different in this lifetime. Even Leng Pan who listened to everything she said had somehow rebelled.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone to Country H without even informing her. Also, she didn’t know what had happened to her at the airport that day.
She had just screamed and cut off the phone and then her phone became unavailable.
She wondered if she had had an accident? If she had, what would she do without her protection? Just like in the previous life, Leng Pan had done everything to protect her. She would have considered her a good friend if she didn’t outshine her in everything.
She had even snatched the man she liked and seduced him, causing him to fall so deeply in love with her that he never looked at her.
If she really thought of her as her friend, then she should have convinced Lu Zhen to marry her. Since she had rejected him with the pretense of thinking of her, she should have gone the extra mile and convinced him to marry her instead.
However, her rejection was only on the surface and she actually liked Lu Zhen too. She thought that she, Bai Yinyin couldn’t tell but unfortunately, she had discovered it a long time ago.
She had just kept it to herself because she was worried that with her simple-minded character, if she mentioned a little about how Leng Pan liked Lu Zhen, she would take it as a cue to go ahead and marry him.
Even if Lu Zhen refused to look at her and be with her, she would never give Leng Pan an opportunity to be Mrs. Lu. That title could only be hers. If she couldn’t get it, then nobody else could.
Bai Yinyin stood up and started pacing back and forth in her room with furrowed brows. Even though she thought that it might be impossible to find that bangle, especially now that things had been messed up by the meteorites, she still wanted to find a way to check out the antique street herself.
Since she could possess that jade bangle in her previous life, then no matter the twists and turns, she would still get it in this life.
Maybe something had happened that led to the changes in this life. After all, in the previous life, Leng Pan never went to Country H, neither did she take the bangle for appraisal. Also, the apocalypse didn’t start with meteorites.
So, it wasn’t surprising that the way she got the bangle would also be different. Maybe she had to go to the antique street herself to get it. She knew what it looked like after all.
Nonetheless, with zombies running around in every corner of the city, she didn’t have the courage to go alone. Others may not know how terrifying those creatures were, but she had lived for over five years with them in her previous life.
In her previous life, Lu Zhen had died in a fight with zombies while protecting Leng Pan. When she saw the man she had liked for years sacrifice his life for another woman, she almost died of anger.
She had known that Lu Zhen loved Leng Pan a lot, but she hadn’t expected his love to be so deep that he would die for her.
The hatred she had for Leng Pan after that could not be extinguished even by ice water. Thus, she had become even more demanding of Leng Pan.
Knowing that Leng Pan treated her sincerely as a friend, she took advantage of that and started making demands that would send her to dangerous places.
She pretended to be sick one day and dying the next. With Leng Pan being distracted and grieving from Lu Zhen’s death, as well as blaming herself for his demise, it didn’t take long for her to go out on a mission and never come back.
She had heard that Leng Pan had encountered a level four zombie with spiritual superpower. Because of her chaotic emotions, she couldn’t resist an illusion created by the zombie and she ended up dying in the hands of zombies while still in the illusion.
Unfortunately, she had been too consumed by hatred and forgot that Leng Pan was the one who provided protection for her. Without her personal protector, her space in the bangle was soon discovered because she always seemed to have supplies even when she didn’t go out to scavenge.
