Riches and Bitches: I have a gate to an isekai and leveling-up system!-Chapter 244: Nearing second rebirth
I couldn't where was the person who kept throwing those powerful attacks against us. And with all of her power, without seeing her opponent, Fay couldn't do much either.
Her lighting attacks needed a pathway through my darkness to reach out through the distance. And as happy as she would be to jump into the fray and deliver her attacks with her own hands…
Jumping right into the midst of about five hundred enemies wasn't the best of an idea, even with how strong she was. This amount of weak fodder would slow her down enough for the human elites, like the one attacking us right now, to deliver a potentially fatal strike.
In theory, we could just send everyone off to an attack, using the fact that those ranged attacks somehow continued to only aim for us…
But the moment we did, what would stop the caster behind those attacks from switching his focus?
So, rather than trying to escape from the next attack, I waited for it instead. And as the concentrated mass of the man's aura flew through the air, rushing to squash us like some bugs…
It pushed all of the world's aura in its path away, creating a clear trail within the world of aura for my elemental darkness to follow.
Some of its strands shattered as the attack flew through them unobstructed. But all the other shards instantly fell towards the rushing attack, missing it by the tiniest margin possible before falling into its trail.
"Fuck…" Fay uttered before swinging her hand again and slapping the attack again.
She didn't show it on her face… but with our bond, she couldn't cheat. And with her bloodlust only growing with each passing second, she had no hopes of suddenly reining the bond in so that I wouldn't feel her hand exploding in pain as a result of her counter.
"OFF!"
Fay finished her shout while slamming the attack away. This time, however, rather than simply throwing it aside, she pummeled it down to the ground, squashing it with her fists and redirecting most of its firepower into the ground.
Most, as quite a lot of the aura, ended up clashing with her own, leaving ugly burn marks on her otherwise pristine skin.
'This fucker…!'
Feeling Fay's pain resonate with my soul through our bond, my heart stopped for a second before beating faster and stronger than ever before.
My darkness fell through the trail left by the enemy attack, surging through the areas where the world's aura has yet to return to its usual, average density. At the very end of this trail, I felt my darkness connect to something through which I could no longer spread the elemental manifestation of my aura.
'Fay!' I screamed out through our bond.
With her hand still burning with pain, Fay lept to my side, grabbing my arm while still mid-air only to pull herself into a tight hug before her feet could even touch the ground.
Fay's platinum-white hair rose in the air, surrounding me with a familiar sense of comfort. And as the domain of her hair expanded to encompass me within it once more, our lips connected again, bringing the sensitivity of our bond through the roof.
And in that single instant, before our target could shatter my manifested darkness, Fay ushered in our bond and my darkness, reaching through it with the sparks of her own, divine aura.
Poof.
The air around us shook when a distant, silent explosion went off just a few hundred paces ahead.
"KILL THEM ALL!"
Unwilling to waste the opportunity, I screamed from the bottom of my lungs.
And the rest… The rest was history.
With the only enemy actively trying to suppress our advance now gone, the celestials and divines alike rushed ahead, covering the distance at a rate much faster than even the world's sprinting champion of earth could ever hope to.
"Haaa…" I released a long sigh, falling down on my knees while wrapping my hands around Fay's waist to keep her properly close to my chest.

In just four seconds, all of our elites left our side, currently busying themselves causing the screams of horror and pain from just a few hundred paces ahead.
Whoever our unit killed thankfully wouldn't register in my battle log, saving me from yet another burden of handling all the influx of the world's aura rushing to fill in the new space opening up in my soul along with my growth.
"That was… pretty stressful," Fay muttered, content with just cuddling up in my arms while the others found the biggest group of humans we faced within the forest so far.
"But besting that guy was still satisfying, wasn't it?" I countered with a small smile, taking a second to take a look through my battle log.
As expected, the information I was looking for was hidden within a number of others. Those were likely the people who were unlucky enough to stand near our target when Fay's attack reached him, dying not to Fay's attack but its aftershocks alone.

Between all the kills I scored on my way to Madam's camp, all those who I've slaughtered with Fay's help on our way here, and all the people who died in our combined attack just now, I've gained a total of thirteen levels, bringing me all the way up to level 155. Yet, as nicely as it felt to breach the mental barrier of one fifty, I've only gained measly six usable points.
And I didn't hold back on using them, pretty wary of ever letting the burden of having too much-unused world's aura attracted to me.

"Haaa…" This time it was my turn to breathe out while a satisfied smile grew up on my lips. "Only five points away, huh?"
With my thoughts turning over to what was looming in the near future for me, my mood inadvertently turned bad.
The pain of rebirth was the only thing in this new life of mine that I actively feared. Yet, at the same time, there was hardly anything else that I could desire more.
"As much as I want to laze around, it will be better if we join with the others," I suggested while gently probbing Fay's side. "I'm only ten levels away from reaching my next rebirth, so it would be for the best if I did while we are still fighting relatively smaller units."
If I was to be of any help… Or rather, if I didn't want to be one hell of a burden, then I had to get this rebirth thing out of the way, as soon as possible. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
And with only ten more levels to fill my strength up to the maximum and bring my attributes to their limit to unlock my second rebirth…
With all of that in mind, I turned my eyes to where the battle raged to its fullest.
