Chapter 500: A Green Sun Rises In The Sky

Third Person’s POV

Even though Isha was momentarily flustered by an unfamiliar wave of embarrassment coursing through her, mixed with a strange, unsettling urge to hide herself away from all eyes, it did not cloud her judgment.

The odd feeling lingered at the edge of her thoughts, making her faintly uncomfortable, yet it failed to muddle her mind or dull her sharpened senses, and she remained fully aware of the glaring danger that surrounded her on all sides.

Still holding Ethan securely in her arms, she lifted her gaze, and what she saw made the atmosphere feel even heavier.

Hundreds of ghostly heads floated across the sky and covered nearly the entire Sanctum Realm in a vast and intricate magical seal formation.

Their hollow eyes glowed faintly as they drifted in precise patterns and formed layers upon layers of arcane geometry.

The formation trapped not only Isha, Ethan, and Altheria but also all the unconscious beings scattered throughout the Sanctum Realm, sealing the space completely.

And despite being fully exposed in the open air, Isha did not act immediately.

There was no light here dense enough to conceal her presence between the light rays like she was usually used to doing, yet she remained still, and her calm expression betrayed none of her thoughts as she assessed the situation carefully.

But the moment her presence was fully revealed, the seal reacted as a massive swarm of ghost heads suddenly surged toward her from every direction and descended like a spectral storm.

As they closed in, their mouths opened in perfect unison.

From within their gaping maws erupted streams of pale green flame that started pouring downward like a rain of corrupted fire.

At the same time, they began to laugh strangely.

The sound of the laugh was high-pitched, warped, and deeply unnatural as it echoed through the air in overlapping waves, clawing at the mind.

The laughter alone was enough to make Isha’s thoughts shudder again as it threatened to throw her senses into chaos once more, and she recognized the danger instantly.

Those sound waves carried a soul pulling property, capable of dragging at one’s consciousness and tearing it loose, like her soul had been pulled a few seconds ago.

But this time, she was prepared as she shielded her mind immediately and reinforced her defenses as her silvery white dragon horns began to glow with a serene radiance.

A low, steady white light spread outward from them and repelled the astral traversing sound waves, dispersing their influence before they could reach the core of her mind.

Only the pale green flames remained as they engulfed everything around her, seeing which Isha let out a quiet sigh.

From her body, a halo of radiant white light expanded outward and formed a smooth, translucent orb that covered roughly two metres around her.

The green flames crashed against the surface of the seemingly weak and thin white barrier, splashing and hissing violently as they attempted to corrode it.

A sharp chi-chi sound along with green smoke filled the air as energies of completely two opposite attributes of foulness and purity clashed against each other, yet the white orb held firm without requiring any conscious effort from her.

Meanwhile, her gaze shifted briefly toward the distant gloom where Altheria’s figure was hidden from sight as she attempted to see what action this little duchess would take in response to this dark monster polluting and destroying the Sanctum that she had ruled for centuries, even though it had been only in name.

At the same time, she began to rise slowly and ascended higher and higher into the air while the white orb continued to shield both her and Ethan from the relentless soul burning pale green flames.

She climbed with the intent of escaping this dark nightmare realm that the dark emperor had weaved and as she climbed, more and more ghost heads surged toward her and surrounded her position.

They didn’t wait to get into any type of magic amplification formation and started to bombard her continuously with streams of green fire, all the while releasing their chilling, distorted laughter.

Before long, Isha’s small white orb was completely encased within a massive sphere of green flame nearly a hundred metres in radius.

From a distance, it resembled a blazing green sun rising in the sky slowly, with her protective barrier forming a tiny, radiant core at its centre, which could be seen even from quite a distance.

The flames burned with terrifying intensity and relentlessly corroded the surface of her orb without pause.

Yet Isha maintained the barrier effortlessly with a steady and continuous stream of light mana flowing from her body to sustain it.

And as she did it, her breathing remained calm and her posture relaxed, even as the pressure and the intensity of the green flames increased.

The green sun rose higher into the sky, while the ghost heads arranged themselves around it like a grotesque planetary ring, orbiting and attacking without rest.

At first, Isha remained composed as she did not consider the ghost heads or their pale green flames a true threat.

To her senses, the spell was undeniably grand, vast, apocalyptic in appearance, and frightening to behold, but its power was scattered and unfocused.

Surely, it would have been enough to reduce any Sky Realm being, irrespective of the three stages, to ashes in mere seconds just with the heat and mana burning attribute it had, yet against an existence like hers, it was largely ineffective.

Still, she remained vigilant as she suspected there was more to this nightmare realm than what was immediately visible, and for that reason, she intended to escape as soon as possible rather than engage further.

But it was then that, within a mere two seconds, something changed.

Her brows furrowed slightly as she realized that her soul senses had become distorted.

The soaring green flames surrounding her orb had begun to interfere with her perception and had started to block and confuse her ability to sense the outside world clearly.
