Rise of the Nightmare Crestmaster-Chapter 167 The Aeon Crest (2)
Unfortunately the sword was only invisible to the naked eye, it still had a shadow and when it moved the air whooshed around it. So a careful opponent might discover it.
And it could only manifest for a three minutes before the skill ended forcefully. It had it's short comings for sure but it was still level one, it had the potential to improve.
Aldrich then tried the last skill, True Strike.
In the backyard of the the base there was only the sound of the panting Aldrich as he laid on his back in exhaustion, he looked at his hand and suddenly exploded into laughter for a very long time.
'This, this is the power that I have always wanted.'
There were more marks on the pavement, no signs of anything abnormal, but Aldrich had to recuperate for an entire hour before he manage to get up.
This new crest had surpassed his expectations, it was something that he simply couldn't imagined. Every skill was extremely powerful in it's own right but that last one…
He scratched his head after resting and used his Eyes of Insight Lv.2 on his sword.
Great sword of subjugation: It was imbued with the wills of many strong being's indignation and thirst for revenge. Using the heart of a ### it gained the flames of damnation.
1) has the ability to expand into the most suitable size for the wielder. The weight does not change.
2) Inflicts Flames of damnation as long as it is infused with energy.
It looks like he had a treasure with him without even knowing… well it couldn't be helped, Eyes of Insight Level 1 couldn't see this information and he simply did not have the energy to use it. 𝗳r𝗲𝙚w𝐞𝚋𝘯𝚘ѵ𝗲l.𝑐om
Aldrich finished his business here and returned to the common room, then he made sure to stash the basement key in the study carefully. He gave quick look around the base to make sure the third floor wasn't gourmet to suddenly fall and collapse on the house.
That hall just looked like that type of place that collapse after defeating the monster for some reason.
Then without further ado, he returned to the real world.
Aldrich opened his eyes and changed his position from laying on the ground pron to leaning his back on the rocky wall. He felt the force of his crest as it came all over him once again.
His wounds healed and his body grew a little, his eyes especially took on a much clearer countenance, if one looked into them for long they could get lost.
However he was surprised when he opened his eyes to see the group crowded around Nathan who was brimming with holy light as he sat cross-legged.
He did it. Aldrich was pleasantly surprised. Nathan opened his eyes, on his forehead, the holy ring appeared in one of the empty slots of his crest.
"You," Cole said and then stopped as if his throat got dry all of a sudden, "you guys actually did it!"
"Awesome!" Hellen jumped and clapped. Nathan and Aldrich high-fived.
"Nathan, how do you feel? Are your powers under control?" Aldrich asked just to make sure.
Nathan had a calm look, well he was always calm, "no, it's not what I was expecting to be honest but I got some handy skills too, you know clerics aren't just good for healing right?"
Aldrich smirked and nodded, "first heal Frank, he saved our lives back there. And then we'll have sea food for dinner."
"[Heal]!"
Nathan clasped his hands as if in prayer, and a pure white light descended out of nowhere. Aldrich saw this skill used before.
Frank surprised him back then, when they were on the verge of death, somehow that saber activated and cut off the four tentacles of the first mate.
In fact perhaps it was because they were wary of that attack that the Aberrant acolytes didn't give chase immediately which gave them the chance to make a run for it.
Eventually this allowed then to have a chance to turn things around. He and Frank may not see eye to eye on some things but they were still friends and teammates.
Unfortunately even after being healed Frank didn't wake up. Aldrich guessed that would happen after all that attack wouldn't have been something that could be done casually.
The tentacles of the Aberrant acolytes may look soft, they were anything but soft. His half plate armor was destroyed in two hits, it wasn't easy for a grade zero creature to even damage it not to mention cut it off so cleanly.
Aldrich had Cole and Hellen take Frank away, when the were a sufficient distance away he punched the rocks blocking the way out of the bat cave to the lair of the acolytes.
The stones broke and shuffled creating an opening which he used to crash out of the tunnel and into that accursed cave once again.
It looks the crew of fish slaves was preparing to leave as they were in the middle of loading their cargo into their ship, but due to the noise he caused to open the tunnel they were alarmed.
Aldrich looked at the two Aberrant acolytes and charged over to them the rest of the mind controlled pirated blocked his way and some of them took out muskets and crossbows and shot at him.
However Aldrich used his Light step skill and jumped evading most of the barrage, what he didn't evade was deflected by a skin tight veil that appeared on his body.
The Light step skill leveled up but it still performed the same function, it doubled his speed.
Only the time was extended to one minute, however his speed when his agility was 4 and when it is 8 now was a world of difference. Aldrich didn't move out of the way but slammed into the pirate crew.
Those who were unlucky enough to be directly hit had been absolutely mutilated, some died right there and then. The collision itself was fatal to them.
But Aldrich didn't even care about them, in fact he could sit back and let them attack him all day and they wouldn't amount to anything. They were only grade zero creatures.
However the pirates didn't stop nor did they run. This is because these pirates had their minds wiped and brainwashed to worship the deep sea race known as the Shoggti.
