Chapter 65 - 65: Sparks of Determination.
Azvoid stretched his arms lazily, cracking his neck with an audible pop. His face bore a satisfied grin, his chaotic energy still buzzing with the thrill of combat.
Draven lay on the ground, groaning and clutching his chest like a man who'd just witnessed death knocking and then deciding to grab a drink before leaving. The crowd's whispers grew into a storm of chatter, all eyes firmly locked on Azvoid.
He reveled in the attention for a moment before his gaze drifted to a particular spot beyond the gawking masses.
Lola.

Golden eyes staring at him with an intensity that would've made lesser men squirm. Her chestnut hair swayed slightly in the wind, her brows furrowed in determination. Clearly, she had been analyzing everything he had done with a ferocity even he found impressive.
Azvoid's lips curled into a mischievous grin. Time to ruffle some feathers.
He sauntered over, cutting through the murmuring crowd with a casualness that made him seem utterly untouchable. His presence alone silenced most of the onlookers, but Lola remained unfazed, her gaze steady and unwavering.
"Well, well," Azvoid drawled, folding his arms. "Enjoying the show, Lola? Or were you just entranced by my rugged, irresistible charm?"
Lola rolled her eyes, though the faint blush creeping onto her cheeks betrayed her. "Yeah, sure. Your ego's definitely the most terrifying thing on this battlefield."
"Ouch. You wound me, really." Azvoid chuckled, then his tone softened, growing genuine. "But seriously, I saw you watching every move like a hawk. You're not bad at analyzing stuff. Gotta say, I'm impressed."
Lola's eyes flickered with surprise before narrowing suspiciously. "Is this you trying to be nice? Because if it is, you really suck at it."
"I'm being sincere, for once." Azvoid shrugged. "You've got talent. Plenty of it. Just don't waste time comparing yourself to others. Especially not me."
Lola clenched her fists, her gaze dropping for a moment before she forced it back up to meet his. "You make it sound so easy. You're out here breaking through your limits like they're made of paper. And me? I feel like I'm bashing my head against a wall."
Azvoid's grin grew a little wider. "Well, you are a bit of a hardhead."
"Azvoid." Lola's voice was sharp, irritated.
"Alright, alright. Jokes aside." He leaned in a little, his voice lowering just for her. "You're strong, Lola. But strength isn't just about power. It's about how you use it. What you just watched? That's me using everything I've got and pushing it to the extreme. You have the talent, but if you're not willing to push it as hard as you can, then you'll never catch up."
Lola's golden eyes widened, caught off guard by the unexpected wisdom. "So... you're saying I should throw myself at things until I either break through or die trying?"
"If that's what it takes." Azvoid's tone was blunt but not cruel. "But hey, you're not alone. Push hard, aim higher, and I guarantee you'll be a nightmare to deal with."
Lola hesitated before letting out a resigned sigh. "You know, you're really infuriating when you make sense."
"Comes with the package." Azvoid laughed. "Besides, it'd be boring if I didn't have some sort of rival trying to take my crown. Keeps me motivated, you know?"
Her gaze sharpened. "Rival? You think I'm your rival?"
"Potentially." Azvoid met her eyes, the playful spark dancing within his black obsidian gaze. "But for now, you're just... trailing behind. Gotta pick up the pace, Lola."
Her teeth clenched, but there was no malice in her expression. Only burning resolve. "I will. And when I catch up, I'll knock that smug look off your face."
"Now, that's the spirit!" Azvoid clapped her on the shoulder, probably harder than necessary just to get another eye roll out of her. "Try not to trip over your own feet on the way, yeah?"
Lola brushed his hand off with a huff, but the smile she tried to hide was painfully obvious. "Just you wait, Azvoid. You're going to regret taunting me."
"Looking forward to it."
He gave her a lazy wave before turning to leave, but he could feel her determined gaze burning into his back. Azvoid couldn't help but chuckle. There was something refreshing about Lola's stubbornness.
And somehow, he found himself wanting to see how far she could go.
