Rise of the Sword Son-in-Law-Chapter 447: Murder and Robbery
Xu Ping’an did not stand for long in front of the Cambrian sculpture; instead, he crossed the plaza and arrived in front of a row of palaces.
There were no shortage of palaces here, a whole hundred of them.

These palaces, all ancient and venerable, were nonetheless spotless.
The surrounding Cultivators looked at these palaces with excitement and greed written all over their faces, and immediately rushed toward some of them.
For this was the number one Sect of the Early Ancient Era, and if one could find an opportunity here, the gains might be beyond imagination.
Yet Xu Ping’an was in no hurry and turned to Li Xuanqing and Qin Yu beside him, saying, "Let’s split up and search."
"Alright, I was thinking the same. The place is too big. If we search together, who knows when we will find anything," Li Xuanqing nodded.
He then left with Qin Yu.
"Brother Xu, I’ll also go look for my opportunity," Qin Mu said with a smile.
After speaking, he took his subordinates and left.
Having witnessed Xu Ping’an’s strength, Qin Mu also felt a tremendous pressure.
Even though Xu Ping’an would not mistreat him, now that Xu Ping’an had become so strong, their future cooperation was unlikely to be on equal terms.
This uncontrollable feeling brought a sense of urgency to him, so he needed to grow stronger.
Xu Ping’an could probably guess Qin Mu’s thoughts, but he didn’t mind.
If he could help Qin Mu in the future, he would still lend a hand, after all, Qin Mu had taken care of him quite a bit before. But to expect him to be utterly devoted in his support was out of the question.
"Brother Xu, then I’ll also go seek fortune," Xue Hu chuckled.
"Oh, didn’t Brother Xue agree to cooperate with me? Why do you want to leave alone now? Could it be you plan to monopolize the chance?" Xu Ping’an asked with a smile that was not quite a smile as he looked at Xue Hu.
"Brother Xu jests. I really have no idea where the fragment of the Heaven-Penetrating Mirror is," Xue Hu still said with a forced smile.
"Is that so? You really have no idea?" Xu Ping’an questioned, staring directly into Xue Hu’s eyes.
The latter’s gaze immediately wavered under Xu Ping’an’s sharp, knife-like stare.
"I really don’t, Brother Xu, why would I deceive you?" Xue Hu quickly said.
Xu Ping’an laughed.
"Since you don’t know, then Brother Xue, please feel free to do as you wish," Xu Ping’an withdrew his sharp gaze and spoke.
"Take care, Brother Xu," Xue Hu said, then immediately slipped away.
Xu Ping’an watched as Xue Hu rapidly vanished, a cold sneer appearing on his face.
"Hmph, he clearly saw the strength you demonstrated and feared that you would snatch the Heaven-Penetrating Mirror, so he fled. He must be going to look for the Heaven-Penetrating Mirror on his own," Gu Lingyan said indignantly.
"I know," Xu Ping’an said with a smile.
"Then why did you let him go?" Gu Lingyan asked, puzzled.
"If I didn’t let him go, would he have confessed? That fat man is cunning and might even intentionally lead me into danger, getting me into deep trouble. I’m not that foolish. Letting him go now might lead to unexpected gains," Xu Ping’an said with a smile.
"You’re planning to secretly follow him and then take the opportunity for yourself?" Gu Lingyan immediately became excited.
"It’s not that simple. The fat man will certainly think of this, so he won’t easily lead us to the location of the Heaven-Penetrating Mirror fragment, at least not now," Xu Ping’an said with a smile.
After speaking, Xu Ping’an waved his hand, and another person, identical to him, appeared in front of him.
This was an ink man transformed from an Immortal Artifact ink slab, into which Xu Ping’an had merged a strand of his soul origin.
Thus, the ink man had become his true avatar, capable of conveying everything it saw.
"I’m going." With these words, the ink man spoke and then chased after the direction in which Xue Hu had left.
"An avatar? Didn’t you say he wouldn’t expose the location of the Heaven-Penetrating Mirror?" Gu Lingyan asked in surprise.
"He will definitely check to see if I’ve followed him. If I don’t track him, why wouldn’t he go looking for the Heaven-Penetrating Mirror? So, isn’t it better to send a decoy to follow him and lead him on a wild goose chase?" Xu Ping’an said with a smile.
"Haha, Xu Ping’an, I find that sometimes you can be quite devious," Gu Lingyan laughed heartily.
"That’s called strategy," Xu Ping’an quipped, glancing at Gu Lingyan.
Gu Lingyan chuckled and then asked, "So what do we do next, go treasure hunting ourselves?"
Xu Ping’an shook his head, his gaze sharp as he looked toward the direction of the palace complex and uttered four words, "Kill people and seize treasures."
"Huh?" Gu Lingyan was startled, feeling a solid killing intent emanating from Xu Ping’an.
"You saw it before. When I showed up, they revealed their intention to kill me. I don’t like being passive, waiting for them to come and find me. Since they want to kill me, I should kill them first before they make their move," Xu Ping’an said coldly.
Whether it’s the Crown Prince Qin Li of the Great Qin Immortal Dynasty, Yu Qianzong of Mo Yuntian, or Zhao Qiming of Yuheng Heaven.
As his power grew, the threat they posed to him became smaller and smaller.
However, the forces behind them were still very strong, so he had to nip them in the bud.
He couldn’t wait to leave the Heavenly Star Palace and have enemies everywhere.
He wasn’t afraid, but the people around him couldn’t handle that.
So he planned to kill all of these people, and ensure that no one would know that he was the killer.
"Do you really intend to kill them all? These people from major forces have some life-saving tricks up their sleeves, and these tricks might be very powerful," Gu Lingyan said anxiously, her face showing a hint of worry.
Xu Ping’an smiled and said, "Isn’t that what you’re here for? You should have such tricks, too, right? If I really encounter such danger, could you save me? Think of it as a favor you owe me."
"I do have them, but I’m afraid I may not be able to save you in time," Gu Lingyan said.
"Don’t worry, I have the Dao Laws of perceiving danger. If there’s real danger, I will notify you in advance," Xu Ping’an reassured her.
"That’s good," Gu Lingyan nodded.
Xu Ping’an looked at Gu Lingyan, surprised at how readily she had agreed.
"So, you follow me. I’ll be in the light, and you in the shadows. I’ll be the one to strike and kill. If there’s danger I can’t resist, you protect me," Xu Ping’an instructed.
"Okay," Gu Lingyan nodded repeatedly, her face full of excitement.
Xu Ping’an looked at the eager Gu Lingyan, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
This was a killing mission; why was Gu Lingyan so thrilled?
"Who shall we start with?" Gu Lingyan asked eagerly.
"Let’s start with the weakest. That will cause the least commotion. Currently, the weakest force here is the Third Prince Jiang Feng of the Great Qin Immortal Dynasty. His force is the weakest, with only three Eighth Rank Cultivators who are not at the Eighth Rank Peak. He should be easy to kill," Xu Ping’an thought and said.
"You’re originally from the Great Qin Immortal Dynasty, aren’t you afraid of being blamed by the Sovereign of Great Qin?" Gu Lingyan curiously asked.
Xu Ping’an just laughed, replying with unhidden pride, "So what if he blames me?"
Gu Lingyan understood; Xu Ping’an before her feared no sovereign of the Mortal Realm.
