Chapter 360: Prove It

Shanshi had already started realizing Ackster wasn’t just some delicious-smelling, decently strong, human-like being who had decided to challenge the Alchemaze for a greater purpose. But, in case Shanshi needed another clue to figure out something was wrong with Ackster, Ackster slashed his wrist without hesitating and held it out to Shanshi.

Ackster almost cut his wrist in half.

However, Shanshi was too enamored by the sight and smell of fresh, glistening blood in what felt like forever. It was also Ackster’s rich and nutritious blood. Of course, Shanshi couldn’t think of anything else.

The first vampire swallowed audibly before opening his mouth and inhaling, sucking in Ackster’s blood from afar.

Ackster raised his eyebrow in surprise. That was a strange method. He hadn’t sensed Shanshi use magic, at least not the same way Mara or other mages he had seen did it. It was like Shanshi just controlled Ackster’s blood because he could, not for any other reason.

Ackster narrowed his eyes as Shanshi drained his blood through the opening in his wrist.

Shanshi’s skin didn’t regain any color, but he started looking healthier, and his scrawny body filled out with muscles. He even grew taller, eventually standing one or two heads above Ackster.

Ackster could gradually begin to sense Shanshi’s true strength. He also understood why Shanshi was so confident Ackster would have recognized his name.

Anyone who saw the tall, pale, handsome, broad-shouldered vampire would rather forget their own kids than the deviously seductive face. Shanshi carried a certain innate charm with his bearing and sleek but well-sculpted features and proportions than Ackster did.

Ackster was just otherworldly perfect in his appearance and how he looked. To mortals, to humans, Shanshi was more attractive. But to people who weren’t daunted by Ackster’s piercing eyes, perfect symmetry, and otherworldly aura, Ackster possessed an unreachable attraction that they couldn’t help but strive toward and want.

"Haha! Now, puny mortal, show some manners!"

Shanshi wiped his lips before posturing with his hands on his hips as he laughed. He urged Ackster to bow with his eyes.

"Fuck off and die, mosquito."

Ackster didn’t waste any time. He could sense that Shanshi was just settling and reaccustoming himself to his own peak strength. He wasn’t going to let Ackster off. He was just waiting until he regained his original strength, not just his original appearance.

Since they had already agreed on what was going to happen as soon as Shanshi regained his strength, Ackster didn’t have any qualms about attacking first while cussing out Shanshi.

Ackster reinforced his body with Anima and launched a rippling strike while imagining Shanshi as a body of water. The punch, backed by all of Ackster’s physical strength, landed right in the center of Shanshi’s stomach.

It blew him to smithereens. Shanshi turned into droplets of blood that scattered all over the room.

"Fucking coward. Take my punch head-on."

Ackster scowled. His strike had barely touched Shanshi when Shanshi transformed into blood and dodged.

"I’m the coward?!"

Shanshi was outraged.

"Who’s the one launching sneak attacks?!"

Ackster locked onto Shanshi’s location.

*You can’t blame me for beating you to the punch when you were planning the same thing.* 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

Ackster flashed forward, sweeping his leg through the air like a sword. The force of Ackster’s leg sweep stirred the air. But Shanshi, who had taken a break in a corner of the ceiling, just had to transform into blood again to avoid taking any damage.

*You don’t have any proof!*

*Neither do you.*

Ackster stayed calm. But the fact that Shanshi could respond by projecting his will meant that he was among the most powerful that he had ever faced. Of course, being the seventh gatekeeper also proved that.

He chased after the trickle of blood flying through the room, trying to figure out how to pummel the vampire.

*What do you mean?! I don’t need proof! You literally just launched an ambush just now!*

*No, I didn’t.*

*Yes, you did!*

*Prove it.*

*Ahh! Where are your blasted manners?!*

*In your mom.*

*You...! That’s taking it too far! My dear mother has no place in your mouth! You take that back!*

*Make me.*

*Argh!*

With a battle cry, Shanshi turned around and transformed back into his humanoid form and flew at Ackster with his fist clad in a shiny, scarlet gauntlet.

Akcster grinned and met Shanshi’s punch with one of his own. If Shanshi wanted to punch him, he couldn’t transform into blood on impact.

Ackster’s rippling strike turned Shanshi’s gauntlet, fist, and arm into a rain of blood.

*Ah, damn! That hurts, you rude brat!*

*Wanna surrender?*

*Never!*

*Fine by me.*

Ackster smiled again and added his Ichor to his Anima.

’Eh, why not?’

He also mixed in his Will, vitality, and mana. Compared to his Ichor and Anima, they were a little weaker. But when Ackster combined them all, his power skyrocketed.

Shanshi’s eyes widened, especially when he sensed the Ichor. His power had been too diluted when Ackster struck him with it before. But now, Shanshi could clearly sense that Ackster possessed a power that no mortal should, though it was a little weak. But that was only expected of a mortal carrying the power of gods.

*What the fuck are you?!*

Shanshi lost his composure.

Ackster had made a Deal like a demon. But he used the power of gods. He also had some of the tastiest and richest blood Shanshi had ever drunk. And he used a strange martial art that even affected how Shanshi’s body reacted to the strikes. Ackster didn’t smell like a human. But he also didn’t smell like any of the intelligent races that had walked Millmeria when Shanshi roamed the world.

*Your master, bitch.*

Ackster grinned as he took advantage of Shanshi’s loss of composure and landed a solid uppercut. Ackster cracked, smashed, and blasted Shanshi’s jaw with the full power of his various sources and his martial art. Unsurprisingly, Ichor turned out to have a slightly restraining effect on Shanshi’s blood transformation. It was the power of gods, after all. It only made sense it worked well against something as ungodly as a vampire.

But Shanshi wasn’t the first vampire for nothing. He turned a chilly stare toward Ackster and locked him in place with a pair of red eyes.
