Ruler's Awakening: Inheritor of the SSS-Rank Dimensional Talent-Chapter 279: Old Friends
One by one, Oliver’s gang members flew up to Aaron with the aim of defeating him, then robbed Aaron of all his belongings.
With half-frightened hearts, they attacked Aaron with all their magic talents. However, it was easy for Aaron to deflect all their attacks.
BLAST!
An explosion occurred when Aaron swung his spear sideways. Aaron was not affected by the explosion because it came from his power, but it was different with the five people who attacked him earlier.
They fell from the sky with injured bodies, some of them even had difficulty getting up because the power in their bodies seemed to be absorbed by Aaron’s power.
Oliver gasped. He didn’t think that Aaron could defeat his five friends so easily, even though they were Archmage tier mages.
"You?! What are you doing?" asked Oliver, pointing up in annoyance.
"I attacked them. That’s what I did," Aaron insisted.
"I won’t let you live!" threatened Oliver.
At full power, Oliver summoned a red magic dragon from within his body. The dragon was created thanks to the manifestation of fire magic that had been condensed, Oliver seemed to be adept at manipulating fire elemental magic.

Aaron smiled, the real fight would be done at this moment, just when Oliver was about to attack him.
With a swift movement, Aaron threw the black-colored Dark Azazel spear down, targeting Oliver’s body.
Oliver didn’t stay still, he put his palms together and commanded his fire dragon to counter Aaron’s mysterious spear.
The clash of magic was so intense that it burned the ground and increased the temperature in the dome.
For Aaron, it was easy to deal with this problem. However, Oliver was the opposite. He found it difficult to control the dragon and protect his body from the heat.
"Let’s end this," Aaron said.
He focused the purple magic flow at the tips of two fingers of his right hand, then directed a large amount of his magic power into Dark Azazel’s spear. Slowly, the spear’s power increased until it overwhelmed Oliver.
"I won’t lose to you," Oliver replied, firmly.
Aaron watched as cracks appeared in the fire dragon’s body, a sign that Oliver’s strength was not quite enough to match Aaron’s strength.
More and more cracks appeared until it caused a huge fire explosion in the dome.
Oliver bounced back with his body injured and burned, in contrast to Aaron who reflexively pointed his hands forward to form a protective shield.
Although injured, the injuries Aaron received were not as severe as what Oliver received.
Due to the interrupted magic supply, Aaron watched as the top of the confining dome began to open slowly until all the walls of the dome faded away.
Oliver crawled on the ground, occasionally grimacing in pain.
"W-Who are you exactly? Why are you so strong?" asked Oliver, softly.
Aaron stepped quickly in a flash of purple light, arrived on top of Oliver’s back and stuck his spearhead in Oliver’s back. Oliver cried out in pain, begging Aaron for forgiveness.
"Who am I? I’m the only person who made it to the 91st floor. You should know that," said Aaron.
He directed his own dark energy through Dark Azazel’s spear, then let the true nature of dark magic damage Oliver’s organs.
Oliver convulsed, occasionally vomiting blood with both pupils reddened. Before long, Oliver died a miserable death, poisoned by dark energy.
Aaron glanced to the side, seeing Oliver’s five friends trying to leave with injured bodies. However, Aaron had no intention of fighting them. Without Oliver, they were just useless trash.
He removed Dark Azazel’s spear and grabbed Oliver’s hair. He planned to show this to Gordon, by merely preventing Gordon from getting agitated.
A few steps away from the battlefield, Aaron fell to his knees while complaining about the pain in his chest.
He tried to close his eyes and saw black dark energy starting to stick to some of his organs, the result of using Dark Azazel’s power.
Aaron summoned his magic on the tips of two fingers, then directed his purple darkness magic through the veins and restored his organs that were infected with the power of black darkness magic.
For a long time Aaron did that, slowly his condition began to improve. He could breathe a sigh of relief while still being cautious not to rely too much on Dark Azazel’s power. Find exclusive stories on novelbuddy
"I have to reduce the use of Dark Azazel’s spear. It’s not good for my body," Aaron replied.
After everything got better, he flew off with his hand still grabbing Oliver’s hair. He flew quickly into the city and arrived in front of the city government office, where the guards were immediately on full alert.
"Stop!"
"What are you doing?" the guard asked.
"I want to talk to Gordon. I brought him a present," Aaron replied, throwing Oliver’s dead body forward.
The two guards were shocked, they knew very well who the man lying pathetically on the ground was.
It was Oliver, the leader of the gang of thugs in the city, the one Gordon had always complained about.
"Who are you?" asked the guard, glaring at Aaron.
"I’m an old friend of Gordon’s. He might still recognize me," Aaron replied.
"I do recognize you. You owe me a lot, Aaron," said Gordon.
Unexpectedly, Aaron’s conversation with the two city government office guards was overheard by Gordon himself. The man stepped out and looked fit, muscular, and old.
"It’s too bad Mr. Killian isn’t here. If he knew, the city might be in trouble," Gordon said.
"So, you are Aaron Lewis who is on the run from the Night Liberators?"
"Get that asshole’s corpse out of my sight. Take Aaron to my office," Gordon replied, disappearing again quickly.
The two guards nodded. One of them walked with Oliver’s corpse, while the other went to escort Aaron to Gordon’s study.
The door opened, Aaron saw not books on display, but bottles of fancy beer from downstairs. Aaron chuckled, although Gordon was the head of the authority, he did not lose his image as a bar owner in the city.
"How have you been? Killian keeps coming to my bar to confirm your whereabouts," Gordon replied.
"I apologize for the trouble I’ve caused," Aaron explained.
"No problem. Because of your case, my bar is a lot busier than usual."
"What do you need in this town? I’ll try to help you," Gordon said.
"I just got back from the 91st floor. A lot of things happened. Right now, I just want to find a place to rest," Aaron replied.
"You got it!"
