Ruling the Historical Romance Novel as the Female Supporting Character-Chapter 124: The Most Ruthless Revenge Is to Strike at the Heart
"Sister-in-law, don’t let your anger harm your health. The eldest brother will be worried," Zhu Zirui advised, looking at the still blinking Qin Kaize, his expression filled with concern.
Su Yijia’s throbbing and dizzy head slowly calmed down upon hearing this. "I’m fine. I’m just thinking about what I can do to make them regret their actions."
Although she was trying hard to suppress her anger, her tone still came across as chilling.
"If we can catch them all, the villagers can condemn them with words for the rest of their lives," Ke Zeming hastily suggested. He had heard about Su Yijia’s temper and her approach to problem-solving from the surveillance team, and he was worried that she might resort to violence if she took matters into her own hands.
"Are the people you brought from the military team?" Su Yijia didn’t seem to pay attention to his suggestion, instead asking a new question.
"Yes. There are many people in the village, and the Su family is a prominent name in Xiangwang Village. I brought some extra people just in case they decide to take action; we can at least protect you," Ke Zeming reminded her cautiously. If a confrontation between the Su family and the Qin family escalated openly, they might not gain any advantage.
"How many people did you bring?" Su Yijia’s tone remained cold, as if she hadn’t understood his point.
"Ten. I used the excuse of investigating your biological father," Ke Zeming answered, feeling rather awkward towards the end. Even though he had the resources to bring more people, there needed to be a valid reason for doing so.
"So, how many villagers can you stop?" Su Yijia suddenly gave him a sidelong glance, staring at him intently.
"Well, even though it’s not a one-on-ten situation, we can at least hold off three people with one of ours," Ke Zeming answered earnestly. However, after speaking, he looked at Su Yijia with a nervous expression. "Sister-in-law, you’re not really planning to take physical action, are you? If you do, things could turn ugly, and you might end up with a heavy sentence."
"Don’t worry, I won’t resort to violence," Su Yijia replied with a light laugh. Her lips curled into a wicked and sinister smile. It seemed like she had not truly understood Ke Zeming’s implications.
Taking a deep breath and trying to persuade her further, Su Yijia said, "Don’t worry, I know you can’t physically confront ordinary people, and I won’t put you in a difficult position. Besides, who said that physically beating someone is the most satisfying form of revenge? Haven’t you heard of ’killing by striking at heart’?"
???
!!!
The people sitting in the car simultaneously widened their eyes, looking at her with shock and fear.
"Sister-in-law, what do you have in mind?" Zhu Zirui asked anxiously.
"Later, find a supply and marketing cooperative to stop. You guys call the police and ask the local police station to send more officers to the Su family in Xiangwang Village. I’ll go buy some things," Su Yijia instructed calmly, looking at him.
After saying this, she didn’t explain further but instead held Qin Kaize’s hand and presented a notepad in front of him.
"Don’t act impulsively; I will help you get revenge," Qin Kaize said anxiously.
Seeing his bloodshot eyes, Su Yijia tried to comfort him with a smile. "Don’t worry about me; I know my limits, and I won’t resort to violence."
However, even though her voice was calm now, she couldn’t make them completely relax. But ultimately, Ke Zeming followed her orders and drove the car to the cooperative store. Su Yijia went inside and purchased three shovels, three hammers, and two large bedsheets before coming out.
"Have you made the call to the police? Will they bring more officers with them?" she asked.
"Yes, they will. They’re also concerned about possible trouble," Ke Zeming nodded and looked somewhat confused as she loaded the items into the back of another pickup truck.
It wasn’t until they had driven most of the way that they finally realized what Su Yijia was planning to do.
"Sister-in-law!" Ke Zeming called out anxiously.
But Su Yijia crossed her arms, giving him a cold look and said, "Shut up. Don’t advise what’s unnecessary. You just need to follow my instructions and make sure to stop the villagers from fighting."
Ke Zeming still wanted to say something, but Su Yijia pointed at Qin Kaize. "Look at him; he didn’t stop me from doing what I want. By what authority or reason can you stop me? I’ve already promised you that I won’t fight with the villagers or the people from the Su family. Do you really think I’ll obey everything you say?"
Ke Zeming could be sure and certain that if he dared to push further, his sister-in-law would cut off all contact with him for good. Then, he wasn’t sure if Qin Kaize, his friend since childhood, would even want to associate with him anymore.
Helpless, Ke Zeming could only turn to Qin Kaize, desperately using his eyes to signal him to try and stop Su Yijia. He hoped that Qin Kaize could restrain her to some extent.
But Qin Kaize not only showed no intention of trying to persuade her, but he also looked at Ke Zeming with some disdain, as if he saw him as a dead weight. Though he knew Qin Kaize’s nature was vengeful and unforgiving, Ke Zeming never imagined that he would indulge Su Yijia to such an extent. If Qin Kaize were in good health, it seemed as though he would willingly hand her the knife in a fight and add fuel to the fire.
Frustrated by this situation, Ke Zeming had many thoughts to express, but at a time like this, he could only grit his teeth and drive the car to Xiangwang Village.
When they arrived at the entrance of the village, Su Yijia told him to stop the car. She got out and took the things she had purchased, as well as Qin Kaize’s wheelchair, out of the pickup truck.
She looked at the people who had followed her and said, "Zhu and Gao, push Kaize up the mountain with me. Ke, take your team to the Su family and wait there. Make sure that no matter what happens, there won’t be any fights."
Su Yijia, with a grim expression, walked up the hill with the items she had brought. Gao Huabin and Zhu Zirui quickly pushed Qin Kaize after her. Meanwhile, Ke Zeming, unable to persuade Su Yijia, led his group of people to the old Su family to keep things under control.
Su Yijia ascended the mountain in silence. After approximately twenty minutes of walking, she reached a series of connected mounds. She didn’t say anything to the people behind her, but immediately started digging with a shovel. The intensity of her actions made it seem like she was not just digging dirt but peeling someone’s skin or tearing their tendons.
Although they were aware that Su Yijia’s current emotional state was not normal, they followed her lead and started digging the small mounds as well.
Back in the village, the Su family was causing a commotion.
"What are you doing?! On what grounds are you arresting us? We raised that girl for our Su family, even sent her to high school in the city. She should be serving our Su family like an ox or a horse for the rest of her life. Don’t spew nonsense. I’m not going anywhere. If you have the guts, bring that girl here to talk to us. You outsiders have no right to meddle in our family’s affairs! Maybe she’s scared now, realizing she was wrong and regrets it, so she doesn’t dare to come back, huh? Too late! Even if she kneels before us, we won’t forgive her now."
Grandma Su stood her ground, speaking defiantly to the people before her.
