Chapter 328: The Husband Who Loves to Feed His Wife with Cakes

"Get up, I’m going to take a shower. Do you want to go beachcombing tonight? The weather is just right today," Qin Kaize said as he helped Su Yijia up.

He got out of bed, squatted down, and helped Su Yijia put on her slippers.

"Oh right, we didn’t manage to go beachcombing last time," Su Yijia said, suddenly lively.

She ran to the wardrobe, holding up two skirts and comparing them.

"Which one do you think I should wear?"

"Wear pants. It’s windy today," Qin Kaize suggested, noting that although Jiajia had safety shorts on, the wind would still lift her skirt, making it difficult for her to enjoy herself.

"Is that so?" Su Yijia peeked out through the curtain and looked at the slightly gray sky. "It won’t rain today, will it?"

"It won’t rain, just cloudy. On days like this, there’s usually plenty of seafood," Qin Kaize said as he went over to grab his own change of clothes.

He found it hard to look away as Su Yijia began changing. He leaned against the wall and quietly admired her.

Her back was as white as snow and almost translucent, like delicate tofu that could crumble with a light touch. Her deep waist dimples were quite alluring.

Qin Kaize made a gesture with his hand, wanting to reach out and touch her. But Su Yijia quickly put on her clothes.

"How do I look?" She turned around, her eyes sparkling, looking at Qin Kaize with a mix of joy and reproach.

"You look great," Qin Kaize said as he pulled her into his arms.

He held her tightly for a few seconds to calm his emotions before helping her button up her clothes.

Hand in hand, they left the room.

Grandpa Lin and Grandma Lin were listening to a radio program.

Seeing them, they smiled and said, "You’re up! Hurry and have some mung bean soup. It’s been cooling in the water for over two hours, so it’s not hot anymore."

"Okay." Qin Kaize seated Su Yijia on the sofa, then picked up the bundle of rabbits that were still dazed.

"You bought rabbits from outside? They’re so cute!" Su Yijia’s eyes lit up.

These rabbits each had little bellies, so they would be even tastier.

"Do you like them? Then should we keep these four little ones for you to play with?" Qin Kaize suggested.

Since the two large rabbits were fat enough, they would definitely make a big pot of stew.

"You’re so cruel," Su Yijia said, showing her teeth in a playful manner. "These adorable rabbits should be made into a stew. How can you bear to separate them?"

"Alright! Then let’s make them into spicy rabbit meat," Qin Kaize chuckled. "The fur can be used to make a scarf for winter, and maybe even a pair of gloves."

Unfortunately, there were too few rabbits to make a hat.

"These large rabbits will be too much for one meal. Each one of the big ones looks to weigh about five or six pounds, and the small ones are over two pounds each. We can cook one large rabbit at a time and fatten up the four small ones more."

Grandma Lin was afraid they didn’t understand, so she decided to deal with the rabbits herself.

"Okay, then we’ll feed them with the vegetables from the yard. They’ll definitely grow up fat and strong," Su Yijia quickly suggested.

She preferred meat over vegetables, so as long as she could eat more rabbit meat, she didn’t mind feeding the rabbits with the fresh vegetables from the garden.

"Alright, then I’ll go with your grandfather to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy a cage. We’ll keep them in the yard during the day and bring them in at night," Grandma Lin said, getting up with some effort.

Qin Kaize hurried to assist her.

"Sigh, I’m getting old. My legs are numb after just sitting for a while," Grandma Lin said with a hint of lament.

She wondered when she would get to hold her great-grandchild.

But since Jiajia and Ze had such a good relationship, it should be soon, right?

"Grandma, after Kaize finishes his shower, we’ll go beachcombing together. Let me go buy the cage," Su Yijia said, fearing that the elderly couple might rush and possibly fall.

But Grandma Lin immediately refused when she heard about their other plans. "You two young people go have fun. Your grandfather and I will stay home and listen to the radio. The boat on the sea is rocking, and I’ll end up feeling nauseous."

"Beachcombing is just along the shore, picking up seafood that washes up. We won’t need to go out to sea," Su Yijia said, holding Grandma Lin’s hand and shaking it playfully.

But Grandma Lin just smiled and patted her hand lightly. "You young people should go out and enjoy yourselves. Your grandfather and I are old enough to be content with a walk after dinner. We’ll come back as soon as we get tired."

The more Jiajia and Ze go out and have fun, the better it will be for their relationship and having children.

"If Grandpa and Grandma don’t want to go, then we’ll go by ourselves," Qin Kaize said, noticing the look Grandpa Lin gave him. He quickly pulled Su Yijia back into his arms.

"Alright then." Su Yijia sighed and nodded. "Grandpa and Grandma, we’ll bring back some seafood for you as a late-night snack."

"Good!" Grandma Lin agreed with a smile.

When Su Yijia was led by Qin Kaize to the beach, she was surprised to see a small fishing boat waiting for them at the shore. Her eyes widened in shock.

"When did you arrange for the fishing boat? Aren’t we here for beachcombing?" Su Yijia excitedly circled the boat.

An old fisherman at the bow was puffing on a pipe.

Seeing Su Yijia’s bright smile, he greeted her with a smile. "Commander Qin came to my house at noon and asked me to park the boat here around four or five in the afternoon to wait for you. The weather is good today, so it’s easier to catch good seafood. The weather was too hot a few days ago, and the nets came up empty."

"You’re so amazing, you even know this?" Su Yijia ran back to Qin Kaize’s side, looking at him with starry eyes.

Qin Kaize ruffled her little head. "I’ve been on this island for many years. It was Uncle Lian who told me. Didn’t I mention that when we arrived on the island, I’d find a good seafood chef to cook a nice meal for you? Uncle Lian is that chef."

He had noticed the change in weather while waiting for the ferry back to the island at noon, realizing that it was a great day for going out to sea. He took the opportunity to visit Uncle Lian and discuss their afternoon fishing plans.

"My husband is so wonderful," Su Yijia said, wanting to throw herself into Qin Kaize’s arms, but with someone else present, she felt too shy.

She could only hug his arm with both hands and snuggle against him.

She had completely forgotten about this, but Qin Kaize remembered. Indeed, a good husband is someone who remembers to make his wife happy, afraid that she might miss out on something.

They boarded the boat, which began to sway and set out.

They didn’t go far; after about twenty-five minutes, the boat stopped.

"Are we going to set the net here?" Uncle Lian turned around and asked the young couple who were still cuddling and enjoying the scenery.

Qin Kaize looked down and asked the young lady beside him, "Where do you want to set the net?"

Should she decide?

Su Yijia blinked, looked around, and pointed to a spot not far away. "Let’s set the net over there."

The place was neither too close nor too far; it took about three to five minutes to get there. But Uncle Lian was easygoing and didn’t mind at all.

He steered the boat directly to the spot Su Yijia had chosen.
