Ruling the Historical Romance Novel as the Female Supporting Character-Chapter 346: Killing and Heartbreaking
She bent down and rummaged through the pile of photos, pulling out one and holding it up in front of Lv Jingyi. The photo showed Su Xinyue with a smug, triumphant expression, just as she turned away.
"So this is your ’not knowing anything’? I thought someone like you wouldn’t be such a fool, but you were actually tricked completely. Despite your caution, we still caught you. Do you know why? It was all because men like you usually have weakness for women. Our target was never you but the man you were seen with, hugging and kissing her on the street. We just decided to check you out as well," Su Yijia taunted with a grin.
Each word jabbed at Lv Jingyi’s already fragile nerves, making him seethe with rage. His eyes, dark and menacing, locked onto Su Yijia.
"What exactly do you want?" he spat out, his voice icy.
"I just want you to learn the truth before you die," Su Yijia replied innocently, batting her eyelashes.
Lv Jingyi was well aware she was using him as a scapegoat. But he couldn’t fathom why he, on the verge of death, was still being so tightly guarded. Nonetheless, the photo showed Su Xinyue’s smirk, revealing that the woman he had held dear was far from the ideal he had imagined.
He had repeatedly risked everything for this vile woman, even willing to shoulder all the blame just to ensure she survived. In the end, it had all been a cruel joke.
At that thought, Lv Jingyi’s gaze suddenly landed on Su Xinyue.
His pitch-black eyes, as if incapable of reflecting any light, brimmed with a bloodthirsty and dangerous aura.
Though he was pinned firmly to the ground, after spending so much time together, Su Xinyue still had an instinctive fear of him.
"No! Brother Jingyi, don’t listen to her nonsense! I only have you! I truly only have you!" she denied frantically, her expression flustered as she shook her head desperately.
Her eyes glistened with faint tears, as if she’d suffered some grave injustice, trying to play the pitiful victim.
But in the past, when she was still pretty and looked like a pure, innocent flower, this trick always worked.
Now, Lv Jingyi’s mind was filled with the image of her smug, triumphant look after she had used him.
And the scene of her lying in the arms of a strange man, whispering the same sweet words she had once used to deceive him.
Finally, his gaze fell on Su Xinyue, her face swollen and beaten to the point she resembled a pig’s head.
In that moment, all the filters through which he had viewed her shattered completely in his heart.
"You vile creature! Even now, you think you can deceive me?" he sneered, his smile cold and feral.
Even if they couldn’t be together in life, they would be in death. Since Su Yijia had no intention of letting Su Xinyue live, he would take her down with him.
"You see! He has a grudge against me and his words can’t be trusted. He forced me to be with him using his power. I am innocent," Su Xinyue quickly came up with a defense.
But Ke Zeming pulled out a thick stack of photos from his pocket, showing Su Xinyue with another man.
"So, you were also forced to be with him?" Ke Zeming asked skeptically.
Su Yijia seized the opportunity and leaned in to look at the photos. Qin Kaize, realizing what was happening, couldn’t stop her in time. He gritted his teeth, his anger evident.
Su Yijia looked at the photos and then quickly withdrew. She hugged Qin Kaize’s arm and leaned on him.
"You look the best!" Su Yijia praised, genuinely admiring her husband. "These people look weak and like pretty boys; they just don’t inspire confidence."
Ke Zeming glanced at the photos in agreement. He nodded, noting that the so-called "pillar of the family" looked particularly unimpressive compared to his strong, capable friend who could easily carry his wife.
At this point, Ke Zeming had completely forgotten that when Su Yijia and Qin Kaize first got married, Kaize had been bedridden and unable to move.
"Let me see that," Lv Jingyi demanded coldly, causing the atmosphere to drop several degrees.
"No!" Su Xinyue cried out in protest.
But the more she resisted, the more Su Yijia wanted to push forward. Ke Zeming, well aware of this, handed the photos to Lv Jingyi without further questioning.
Seeing the image of Su Xinyue, smiling seductively in another man’s embrace, Lv Jingyi’s fury exploded. Although the photo was partially obscured by a blanket, it was clear what had happened.
Like a rabid dog, Lv Jingyi suddenly broke free from his restraints and lunged at Su Xinyue. He grabbed her by the hair and slammed her head against the ground repeatedly. By the time anyone reacted, blood was already everywhere.
Despite the beating, Su Xinyue didn’t fully lose consciousness. Lv Jingyi, desperate and enraged, bit down hard on her ear. Her screams were so piercing they seemed to pierce the heavens, causing even the birds perched on nearby trees to flee in terror.
After the chaotic scene, Lv Jingyi and Su Xinyue were finally separated. Su Xinyue clutched her bleeding face, moaning in pain.
"Ugh!" Lv Jingyi spat out a bloodied piece of flesh from his mouth.
Su Yijia instinctively turned to look, but Qin Kaize covered her eyes gently.
"Don’t look. There’s nothing good to see," he whispered soothingly.
Even though she knew what was spat out, not seeing it directly lessened the shock.
Qin Kaize, satisfied that Su Yijia had calmed down, signaled Ke Zeming, who quickly directed his team to clean up the mess and remove everyone.
Once the blood had been thoroughly cleaned and the smell was gone, Qin Kaize let go of Su Yijia.
Su Yijia frowned. "What about the other man involved with Su Xinyue? Will he be punished too?"
"Yes, he will not only be dismissed but, given his status, will face at least twenty years for such criminal offenses," Qin Kaize replied.
Some people had to lead by example.
"That’s good," Su Yijia said, relieved. As long as no one helped Su Xinyue or caused them trouble, she was satisfied.
Just then, she noticed someone peeking through the door, confirming that no one else was around before slipping in. Su Yijia raised an eyebrow in curiosity, having never seen this person before.
