Chapter 372: A Charming Little Girl

Although Su Yijia didn’t want to understand immediately, she couldn’t resist Qin Kaize’s blatant intentions. A rosy hue quickly spread across her fair face.

The slightly embarrassed man bent down and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek. "Honey, let’s head back early. After you finish the Detoxification Pills, we can make up for our wedding night tonight." His hoarse voice conveyed his eagerness without reservation.

Warm breath brushed against Su Yijia’s neck, and Qin Kaize nudged her gently, urging her to agree.

Su Yijia felt her legs weaken, biting her tongue just to avoid embarrassing herself in front of him. "No! We’ve been on the island for so many days for your safety. There are less than ten days left; it’s better to be cautious," she said softly, swallowing hard.

Qin Kaize paused for a moment but quickly continued, "What if we wait a couple of days to go back?"

Sitting on a train for a day would tire Jiajia out, and he wouldn’t dare to tire her further during that time. He feared the thought of having to endure another whole day, worried he might go crazy with longing. Plus, he didn’t want to waste energy on the way back, fearing that he might disappoint his little wife.

"Don’t even think about it!" Su Yijia frowned, firmly refusing.

While she was indeed looking forward to it, Qin Kaize’s sudden proposal made her feel a bit anxious. It felt like he was intent on overwhelming her all at once.

"Honey, just indulge me this once. I’ve held off for several months," he said, his voice dropping to a near whisper, almost just breath. The warm breath against her ear carried a teasing allure.

A shiver ran down her spine, making her hair stand on end.

"Let’s just stick to the train ticket for October 20th—no lingering on the island or leaving early." Though it was a matter of life and death, Su Yijia chose to withdraw into her shell, mentally preparing herself for what lay ahead. Otherwise, she feared she’d end up in the corner of the bed, wishing she could kick Qin Kaize out.

Seeing her reluctance, Qin Kaize gazed at the girl in his arms with a hint of regret, but he didn’t want to pressure her any further. He ended the conversation with a gentle bite on her lip, shifting the topic.

After a nap, someone knocked on their door again. Su Yijia blinked in confusion. She had just rudely turned someone away that morning; how could someone be back so soon?

"Stay here; I’ll check who it is," Qin Kaize said, pressing her back down.

If it was those Aunties from the team again, he wouldn’t let them ruin Jiajia’s mood and would send them away.

However, when he opened the door, he was surprised to find a sixteen or seventeen-year-old girl standing there. The girl, startled by Qin Kaize’s stern expression, stumbled back two steps, tripping over her own feet and landing hard on the ground.

Even with her palm scraped, she didn’t dare to scream. She grit her teeth, inhaling sharply, then hurriedly got back up.

"Hello, Commander Qin. I need to ask Sister Su for a favor; is that alright?" Li Shiyan said in a small voice.

Her demeanor reminded Qin Kaize of Su Xinyue, heightening his sense of annoyance. Just as he was about to refuse, Su Yijia stepped out.

"What do you need?" She stood next to Qin Kaize, tilting her head to look at the girl who kept a distance of at least a meter.

Li Shiyan quickly pulled out a notebook and a few shell and conch shell accessories. "I heard from the Aunties this morning that the accessory factory is accepting designs. I drew some sketches and made a few samples. I was wondering if Sister Su could help me see if these are acceptable? I heard that there’s a shortage of materials, so I used large shells, crushed them, and made some petal shapes. I also utilized the curved edges of the shells to create shapes that could form flowers. I’m not sure if they’ll work," she said, stepping closer to present her creations displayed on large sheets of paper.

After finishing her explanation, she added hurriedly, "I just want to know if you think they’re good enough. If so, I’ll go to the accessory factory myself."

Su Yijia examined the accessories carefully, picking one up and turning it in the sunlight. Not only were the designs appealing, but the colors were also quite nice. Furthermore, what the girl mentioned could indeed solve many issues with current material shortages.

"You did a great job! Your ideas are wonderful. Come in; let’s discuss this further," Su Yijia smiled.

Her warm reception for someone who came bearing genuine talent instead of merely seeking her assistance put her in a good mood.

Li Shiyan’s face brightened with joy, but she instinctively glanced at the impassive Qin Kaize. Though he showed no emotion, his stern face was intimidating enough to make anyone nervous.

"Am I being too much of a bother?" she asked cautiously.

"No, not at all," Su Yijia replied with a gentle smile.

Li Shiyan quickly packed her items back into her bag and followed Su Yijia inside. Qin Kaize also wanted to follow, but Su Yijia turned to him. "Kaize, could you please call Zhu Zirui and ask him to come over?"

"Sure," Qin Kaize said, seeing that his wife genuinely wanted to have a good discussion with the girl, so he didn’t stop her.

Once Qin Kaize left, Su Yijia could clearly sense the girl relaxing beside her. It made her chuckle a bit. "Don’t be too nervous; Kaize has a good temper."

"I know Commander Qin is a reasonable person, but just having him stand there makes it hard for me to breathe," Li Shiyan admitted shyly.

Su Yijia understood her implication that Qin Kaize looked fierce and had an overwhelming presence. But she wasn’t wrong; Qin Kaize indeed looked intimidating when he wasn’t smiling. If she hadn’t married him and known his true nature, she would have thought he had a bad temper and kept her distance.

"Sister Su, this is a gift for you." Li Shiyan hurriedly took out a hairband from her bag. "I only made this one for you. I hope you like it. If not, I can make you another one."

She had only seen Su Yijia from afar a couple of times, but her long, shiny black hair reminded her of silk. Even styled into a braid, it looked beautiful.

Unfortunately, after the last typhoon, she hadn’t had the chance to see Su Yijia with her hair down while beachcombing. But she could imagine how lovely it would look. Thus, she spent four to five days making this hairband as a gift for her.
