Chapter 143: Chapter 143: What Are You Doing? Go Hug Your Assistant!

As Iris Lynn was about to lose her temper, she suddenly saw Attorney Spencer pushing through the crowd, coming over with an aggrieved expression—

Elias Spencer pushed aside the employees gathered outside her office and walked in, looking at Iris, who was tied up with a rope around her neck, her face and white blouse covered in stains. His brows furrowed.

"Attorney Spencer... save me..." Iris called out to him pitifully.

"What is Attorney Nolan doing?" he asked, looking at her with serious eyes.

"Since you can’t control your dog and she keeps disturbing my work, I had no choice but to tie her up." Summer Nolan glanced at him and snorted coldly.

Iris looked at him, crying and immediately explaining, "I was just being nice by bringing Attorney Nolan coffee, but she spilled it on me, not to mention asking her assistant to tie me up here..."

"Didn’t I tell you not to approach her? Why are you making her coffee for no reason?" Elias Spencer asked in a low voice.

"I- I just wanted to maintain a good relationship with Attorney Nolan. I was afraid she’d fire me..." Iris cried, looking very wronged, desperately coming up with an excuse.

"You are my employee, why are you afraid of her firing you?" He was exasperated, not understanding her mindset.

Upon hearing him defend her so fiercely, Summer Nolan just smiled faintly—

Elias Spencer turned to Summer Nolan again and said coldly, "Untie the rope from her neck. With so many employees watching, you’re damaging your own image."

"I’m not going to untie a dog." She sat in her office chair, legs crossed, leaning lazily against the backrest.

Elias Spencer looked at her actions, very disappointed with her bullying behavior.

Iris had done nothing to her, yet she trampled on her dignity.

He turned to Chloe Chase standing by the side and ordered coldly, "Go untie Assistant Lynn."

"Whose assistant are you? Just listen to me in the future. You did well today. I’ll give you a double bonus this month. You can leave now, you have no business here." Summer Nolan dismissed her assistant.

"Yes, thank you, Attorney Nolan!" Chloe Chase happily retreated, not heeding Attorney Spencer’s words.

Elias Spencer looked at her sternly, then at Iris tied to the table leg, feeling helpless. He had no choice but to go over himself and untie the rope.

"Keep your dog in check. If she disturbs me again, I’ll keep tying her to the table leg." Summer Nolan warned with a smile.

After untying the rope from his assistant, Elias Spencer reminded her in a low voice, "If you seek her out again, it’s you looking for trouble. Just let her tie you then."

After saying that, he strode away, frustrated with his assistant’s stupidity and detesting her meekness.

Iris glared intensely at the woman behind the desk, "Just you wait, I have photos of you and Attorney Spencer in close contact!"

Summer Nolan sneered, so what if she had photos? Who in the law firm would believe it?

As Iris left the office, a crowd of people shot her mocking looks. Were these people sick? Shouldn’t they be criticizing Summer Nolan’s outrageous behavior?

-

At lunchtime, Ian Sterling drove over personally to pick her up for a meal, holding a large bouquet of red roses by the car.

He attracted quite a few women coming out of the building.

Summer Nolan and Elias Spencer took the same elevator, and as more people kept crowding in, someone accidentally stepped on her foot.

"Hiss..." she drew in a sharp breath.

"Sorry, sorry." The man in front hurriedly apologized.

Elias Spencer pulled the woman beside him into his arms, strong arms propping against the elevator wall. Summer Nolan bumped into his firm body and let out an involuntary muffled groan.

"Who asked you to meddle?"

Just as she was about to push him away, someone behind Elias Spencer squeezed forward, and suddenly, his firm chest pressed against her softness—

Summer Nolan stepped back, her back hitting the elevator wall, causing her to frown and groan again, "Hmm..."

The cold scent from him filled her nostrils.

His warm breath brushed against her ear, tickling as if electrocuted, leaving her tingling.

Annoyed, she pushed him lightly with her hands, whispering, "Are you taking advantage of me? Move aside!"

"With so many people in the elevator, where should I move?"

Elias Spencer propped his hands on either side of her head, looked down at her, and asked, his back tightly pressed by the crowd, unable to move.

And he didn’t want to move.

"Hmph..." Summer Nolan snorted and turned her face away.

"Let’s have lunch together?" he took the opportunity to ask.

"Sorry, I have a boyfriend who’s waiting for me downstairs." Defending his dog-like assistant in the morning and inviting her to lunch at noon?

Ha ha.

Elias Spencer frowned, were they really in a confirmed relationship?

"Then let’s go together. I actually have something to discuss with him, preferably in your presence. I’m not one to gossip behind people’s backs."

"...!" Summer Nolan clenched her fist in anger, looking at him furiously, feeling like she was about to explode with rage.

"Heh, do you have any proof that it’s me? Do you think Ian Sterling will easily believe you?" she asked calmly.

Elias Spencer didn’t reply; he indeed had no proof...

But, he should be able to find out. The person helping her that night sounded like a young girl.

There weren’t many trustworthy young girls around her.

Seeing his expression, Summer Nolan knew he had no evidence, and she relaxed. The elevator soon reached the first floor, and people standing in front of her started to leave.

Noticing he was still pinning her, she hit him once. "What are you doing? Go hug your assistant!"

"I have a superior-subordinate relationship with Iris Lynn, stop being jealous, and let’s make up?" Elias Spencer said to her calmly again.

"Are there no men in this world? Or do you think I can’t find another man? Why would I be jealous of you? Attorney Spencer, you should take care of your assistant."

Caring for his assistant while flirting with her made Summer Nolan very disgusted. She sneered, slipped out from under his arm, and walked out quickly.

Outside, Ian Sterling saw her coming out, with Elias Spencer following behind, his mouth curving slightly in a smug and showy manner, holding the flowers as he walked over.

"Do you like roses?" he asked, handing the large bouquet of red roses to her.

Summer Nolan intentionally took them with a delighted face, immediately hugging his arm while sniffing the flowers, "As long as they’re from you, I love them."

"As long as you like them." Ian Sterling, seeing her happy expression, felt cheerful as well, touched her head, and asked, "What would you like for lunch?"

"Hot pot, do you like it?" she asked.

"...I like it. Get in my car then." He glanced at Elias Spencer behind, pulled her into his car, and drove away from the place.

Elias Spencer took a deep breath, not worried. They wouldn’t last long... Considering what she did to the Sterling Family, how could Ian Sterling forgive her?

Eventually, the truth would come out, he reassured himself silently.

Behind him, Julian Rivers walked up, patted his shoulder, and laughed, "Dumped by your ex-girlfriend, want to join me for a meal?"
