Sage of Humanity-Chapter 1553 - 1551: The Best Opportunity
Lu Ye had to consider not only his own passage but also what to do when bringing cultivators from his home galaxy back.
He himself could conceal his presence, and believed that as long as he's careful, there shouldn't be much problem.
But if he were to bring people from Jade Conch Galaxy later, an entire fleet couldn't easily hide, and if discovered, given the nature of the Insect Race, they would surely not allow the fleet to pass peacefully, leading to conflicts that Jade Conch couldn't withstand.
After pondering for a moment, Lu Ye asked, "Is it feasible to take a detour?"
The positions in stellar space are indeterminate. The Reincarnation Tree provided him with a star map which plotted a route, but he didn't have to strictly follow that star map. Taking a slight detour to avoid the region where the Insect Race is entrenched and then rejoining the star map's route should be feasible.
However, this would take a lot more time, potentially wasting several years.
Jyang Shang said, "It might be feasible, but as long as the insect hive remains, nobody knows how far the tentacles of the Insect Race might extend. If by chance the place where Young Friend Lu detours is touched by them, it'll inevitably lead to trouble."
This posed some difficulties.
Lu Ye certainly couldn't ask Jyang Shang to use the power of the Indeterminate Galaxy to solve that insect hive. The insect hive drifted over decades ago, and if the Indeterminate Galaxy had the ability to solve it, it surely wouldn't have been delayed until today. Since they haven't resolved it, it indicates the matter is quite tricky.
Just as Lu Ye was troubled, Jyang Shang spoke again, "Young friend, rest assured, before you return, we will definitely deal with that insect hive and will not delay our expedition to the All Phenomena Ocean."
Lu Ye was slightly astonished. Although he agreed to take people from the Indeterminate Galaxy with him to the All Phenomena Ocean, at the end of the day, it's a mutually beneficial cooperation. After all, Jade Conch's fleet needs to borrow the passage; thus, they couldn't leave others behind.
Now Jyang Shang proactively said they would solve the insect hive, which had more than one Sun Blaze sitting there. The reason for this wasn't clear, since such a battle wouldn't benefit the Indeterminate Galaxy.
However, Lu Ye only thought for a moment before realizing that if things were as he imagined, his trip over here had done a big favor for the Indeterminate Galaxy!
He didn't say much, just raised his glass and said, "Then thank you, World Lord!"
While he had indeed helped the Indeterminate Galaxy a lot, if they could eliminate the insect hive as promised, it would also assist him, remaining a mutual benefit.
Jyang Shang and Lu Ye shared a drink and exchanged smiles, everything understood without needing words.
After the matter was settled, Lu Ye did not plan to stay long, thus stood up to take his leave. With the long journey ahead, he had already lingered there for half a month, eager to start on his return journey.
Jyang Shang sincerely entreated him to stay, hoping to learn more about the All Phenomena Ocean, but seeing Lu Ye's firm resolve, he had no choice but to let him go, instructing Kang Cheng to escort Lu Ye out of the Indeterminate Galaxy. Kang Cheng accepted the task.
Outside the great hall, Kang Cheng summoned his starboat, standing on it waiting. Lu Ye, carrying Yaya, bid farewell to Huah Sheng, sharing a pleasant conversation.
They exchanged meaningless chatter for a good moment before Lu Ye boarded the starboat, which Kang Cheng then piloted, transforming into a stream of light to exit the Indeterminate World.
Huah Sheng watched intently, feeling deeply grateful.
Though Lu Ye had spoken senseless words before leaving, Huah Sheng knew it was on purpose. This way, the Indeterminate World would learn of Lu Ye's good relationship with Red Sky, enabling Red Sky to have a better standing.
"What a pity!" Not far beside Huah Sheng, Luo Shenzhi looked toward the direction Lu Ye departed, sporting a regretful expression.
The reason he followed his own Moon Jade here was to have a fight with Lu Ye, but in the previous occasion, he hadn't the opportunity to speak, and Lu Ye was eager to leave, so he naturally couldn't make any rude requests.
Though things didn't go as Luo Shenzhi wished, he was even more excited about the future.
If he could reach the All Phenomena Galaxy, he could witness the splendor of many galaxies' top Constellations, which filled him with enthusiasm, making him more eager than anyone for Lu Ye's return.
"Now that the matter is concluded, I shall take my leave," Huah Sheng prepared to depart.
The Moon Jade woman who had spoken to Lu Ye earlier slightly smiled and said, "Sect Master Huah, no need to rush; please return to the hall first. The World Lord has instructions for discussion."
Huah Sheng was earnestly respectful: "With the World Lord's command, I shall obey!"
Knowing that this was thanks to Lu Ye's earlier performance, otherwise he would not have been invited back. If there was indeed something important being discussed, he wouldn't have been eligible to participate.
A group of Moon Jade and Luo Shenzhi returned to the hall, taking seats as before.
Just as he sat down, Sect Master Huah heard that Daluo Moon Jade say, "Lu Yiye has arrived at just the right time; with this, the preparations between our two domains should have no issues."
Jyang Shang smiled and said, "Indeed, I never expected such good news at this critical juncture. Truly, it's as if heaven is on our side."
Daluo Moon Jade said, "In fact, those two domains are not unaware of the seriousness of the matter. It's just that the threat is on Indeterminate's doorstep, and they are all counting on Indeterminate to take the lead."
Jyang Shang said, "I am well aware of their intentions, but the foundation within that insect hive is no small matter. Indeterminate alone cannot resolve it."
This statement was a bit modest. If Indeterminate truly wished to handle the insect hive, it could be accomplished, but it would come at a huge cost. In a single battle, it's highly likely that the entire star system's cultivation world would be severely damaged, and cultivation levels would fall back thousands or tens of thousands of years.
If that were to happen, Indeterminate's eventual outcome would surely be to be devoured by the other three star systems, and there may never be an Indeterminate Galaxy again, which is an outcome they cannot accept.
So, even though they have the capability, Indeterminate Galaxy has not truly taken action for decades; instead, they've constructed a defensive line outside their own territory to guard against the invasion of the insect hive. Within the domain, two other Sun Blaze powerhouses have been stationed at that defense line for years.
And for decades, Indeterminate has been networking with the four corners, hoping to unite the four places in a collective effort against the insect hive.
Although the insect hive is a menace at Indeterminate's doorstep, should Indeterminate suffer, no one knows which star system would be next. Such a menace as the Insect Race, if not eradicated at the source, will only become increasingly troublesome because of their excessive reproductive ability.
Among the other three star systems, only the Daluo Galaxy stated over a dozen years ago that they were willing to fully assist Indeterminate; whereas Tranquil Moon and Beixuan had a bit of a "wait and see" attitude, like spectators.
Of course, Jyang Shang knows that the powerhouses of these two star systems don't genuinely think that way; they all recognize the danger of the Insect Race, but they're unwilling to expend too much effort and want Indeterminate to bear the brunt.
Daluo Moon Jade's visit to Indeterminate this time is indeed about the insect hive. The matter has been delayed for decades, and delaying further will only allow the Insect Race to grow even stronger. Once they reach a certain strength, not even the combined forces of the four star systems might stand a chance. If Indeterminate falls, none of the other three star systems will be able to remain untouched, and they will eventually be consumed by the Insect Race.
He plans to first persuade Jyang Shang's side, then connect with the powerhouses of Tranquil Moon and Beixuan star systems, to prepare for a war against the Insect Race.
He had done this once before, with little success, and the same outcome happened this time, because before Lu Ye's arrival, Jyang Shang showed no intention of giving in. The message from Indeterminate was simple: either everyone perishes together, or everyone makes an effort; Indeterminate would certainly not take the lead. Even if they won the war against the Insect Race, the outlook for Indeterminate would not be good.
In such a complex situation, everyone in the four star systems had their own calculations, and without a suitable opportunity, it was difficult to facilitate cooperation.
Lu Ye's arrival is the best opportunity!
If the news of the All Phenomena Ocean is spread, Tranquil Moon and Beixuan are bound to be very interested. However, to reach the All Phenomena Ocean, they will need to wait for Lu Ye to return safely. For Lu Ye to return safely, they must first resolve the insect hive!
Lu Ye was aware of this possibility at that time, which is why he felt his arrival was a major help to Indeterminate. Even if he isn't a cultivator of Indeterminate, and he wasn't very clear about the intricacies, one can infer some things without knowing too much.
"That Young Friend Lu is a straightforward person, willing to take my Daluo people to the All Phenomena Ocean; I believe he will also be willing to take the people of Tranquil Moon and Beixuan as well. It's merely a few more people; it doesn't hinder him much. World Lord Jyang, I'll negotiate with Tranquil Moon and Beixuan, and I'm sure they'll be very interested in the All Phenomena Ocean. If they agree to the previous proposal, then on Indeterminate's end..."
Jyang Shang eagerly said, "As long as they truly contribute, Indeterminate has no problem!"
"Then it's settled!" Daluo Moon Jade laughed heartily, standing up tall, "There's no time to delay, I'll set off now."
Daluo Moon Jade hastily left, confident and assured.
No wonder he is so confident; the allure of the All Phenomena Ocean is irresistible. Who would have thought that the scourge that troubled the four star systems for so many years would have hope of resolution with the arrival of an outsider?
That Lu Yiye of Nine Heavens is truly a blessing for the four star systems.
Daluo Moon Jade departed with Luo Shenzhi. Jyang Shang pondered for a moment, not sure what he was thinking. After a long while, he turned his gaze toward Huah Sheng, "Sect Master Huah, it is said that Young Friend Lu has a good relationship with your disciple?"
Huah Sheng quickly replied, "Young Friend Lu and my disciple became acquainted in the Taichu Realm of the Reincarnation Tree. As for their relationship... it seems to be quite good."
"Good, very good!" Jyang Shang commended, "We cultivators meet many people in our lives—villains, wicked people, good people... or benefactors. When we meet them, we must cherish them."
Huah Sheng nodded repeatedly in agreement.
"The war with the Insect Race is approaching, and you'll need to exert yourselves, you and your disciple. Your disciple has just advanced to Constellation not long ago; his power is somewhat insufficient. If Sect Master Huah trusts me, send him to our Indeterminate Galaxy; the Heavenly Enlightenment Pavilion is about to open!"
Upon hearing this, Huah Sheng's expression brightened, and he quickly stood up, "Thank you, World Lord, for your support. My disciple will never forget your graciousness."
