Sage of Humanity-Chapter 1706 - 1704: Filth Race Attack
In the stellar space, various species are all different, including those without spiritual intelligence or with low spiritual intelligence, numbering in the tens of thousands.
Among the myriad races in the stellar space, two races are most notorious: one is the Insect Race, and the other is the Blood Race!
For no other reason, the Insect Race loves to invade domains, devouring their inherent foundation to develop itself, so where the Insect Race passes, life typically becomes extinct.
The Blood Race doesn't do much better; domains targeted by them generally see their living beings become Blood Slaves, their lives held in the balance.
Therefore, the Insect and Blood Races have it rough in stellar space, essentially being hunted down everywhere.
The Blood Race has the ability to disguise themselves as the human race, making their situation slightly better. The Insect Race utterly fails in this; even when they take human form, their characteristics are still very obvious and easily recognizable.
Besides these two major races, there's actually another race loathed and spurned by all races.
That would be the Filth Race!
However, unlike the well-known Insect and Blood Races, the Filth Race isn't widely known because they rarely appear; but when they do, it brings devastating disasters.
Take Jade Conch for example; even now, they haven't figured out what the invading enemy truly is.
All roots lie in the Filth Race's concealment.
The Blood Race has five top-tier domains, each transformed from portions of the Blood Ancestor's body. Although the locations of these five domains aren't fixed, there are traces to be found.
The Insect Race is similar; several top-tier insect hives are generally under the surveillance of stellar space powerhouses, unable to move easily. If there weren't so many strong beings from the Blood Race and Insect Race, making it hard for the stellar space powerhouses to reach a consensus, they might have been wiped out long ago.
But regarding the Filth Race's base, no one in the world knows.
They often appear unexpectedly via the Insect Path, and after destroying a star system, they disappear without a trace, leaving behind desolation and brutality.
It's rumored that the root of the Filth Race is called Filth Land, a huge unparalleled domain, also one of the top-tier domains in stellar space, but that's merely a rumor, unverified by anyone.
Lu Ye and Ma Shangsi quietly transmitted audio, but they couldn't hide from a few Jade Conch Moon Jades, causing Han Dong to turn and look, "Junior Brother Lu, you're well-informed, do you know something?"
Now, what Jade Conch needs to figure out first is what species the enemy is and what they intend to do. Only then can there be an appropriate response strategy; if such basic information is unknown, then when it comes to fighting, they are bound to suffer.
Lu Ye said, "I'm not quite sure, but Ma Shangsi mentioned that those invading from the Insect Path should be the Filth Race."
"Filth Race?" Several Jade Conch Moon Jades and even Wu Zhuo looked bewildered, obviously having never heard of it.
Lu Ye turned to Ma Shangsi, "Explain in detail."
Ma Shangsi then briefly explained the intelligence he knew about the Filth Race. Han Dong thought Lu Ye had wandered the All Phenomena Ocean for years and was well-informed, but among the Moon Jades present, the most knowledgeable was still Ma Shangsi.
This guy was the strongest, the oldest, and had once disguised himself as the human race, staying in the All Phenomena Ocean for years. In terms of insight, far surpassing Lu Ye.
After hearing various details about the Filth Race, Qiu Wu's expression was serious, "Fellow Daoist Ma, how did you judge that the ones coming this time are the Filth Race?"
Ma Shangsi said, "It's simple, their invasion method is much like what I heard, always using an Icy Domain Insect Path. Reportedly, the Filth Race has a supreme stellar space treasure called the Celestial Frost Mirror. With this treasure, the Filth Race can randomly project Celestial Frost Freezing Air to a position in stellar space, assumedly the icy domain seen here before. This Celestial Frost Freezing Air doesn't have much harm, even being useful for the cultivation of certain cultivators, but its greatest function is to freeze space, then shatter space, artificially creating a way back and forth through the Insect Path!"
"Stellar space supreme treasure!"
"Celestial Frost Mirror!"
Several Jade Conch Moon Jades' faces showed astonishment.
Even though they came from remote places, they've heard of the reputation of stellar space supreme treasure; these are treasures born during the creation of stellar space, very few in number.
Lu Ye, however, focused on another point; unlike Jade Conch's Moon Jades' strong reaction, Lu Ye had no stellar space supreme treasure himself, but he had encountered some, "Randomly? Meaning even the Filth Race can't determine the precise position where Celestial Frost Freezing Air will be projected?"
"That's what they're saying." Ma Shangsi nodded.
"Damn it!" Wu Zhuo couldn't help but curse, "How incredibly unlucky is this?"
A few Jade Conch Moon Jades similarly felt utterly unlucky.
Stellar space is vast, so how did that Celestial Frost Freezing Air appear in Jade Conch Galaxy?
Jade Conch is remote; finally a Lu Yiye emerges, breaking through to All Phenomena Ocean, good days seemed imminent, and now this happens.
Qiu Wu's expression was solemn: "As Fellow Daoist Ma said, doesn't it mean that the Filth Race is extraordinarily powerful? Sun Blaze... there should be quite a few?"
Ma Shangsi nodded: "The Filth Race certainly has many strong members, and there are definitely Sun Blaze, not a small number. But the World Lord need not worry about Sun Blaze invading, because as far as I know, the Insect Path opened by the Celestial Frost Mirror is different from a genuine Insect Path. It has a limit to what it can withstand, so Sun Blaze can't directly come through the Insect Path."
Han Dong mused: "The Insect Path is like a water pipe, and Sun Blaze's bulk is larger than the pipe, so it can't pass through? If it forces its way through, it might even burst the pipe?"
"It's more or less that way." Ma Shangsi nodded.
Everyone let out a long sigh, feeling slightly relieved, because with Jade Conch's current power, if Sun Blaze really came through, there would be no point to resisting; they might as well wash their necks and extend them.
But even so, the situation is far from optimistic, because though Sun Blaze can't come, Moon Jade definitely can.
Moreover, for a race as vast as the Filth Race, it wouldn't take many Moon Jade—just thirty or fifty would suffice, and Jade Conch Galaxy wouldn't stand a chance.
Seeing the group's apprehension, Ma Shangsi spoke: "The situation shouldn't be so bleak, the Filth Race is a species that marauds everywhere, so the battlefield opened up by the Celestial Frost Mirror surely isn't limited to just Jade Conch."
Upon hearing this, Lu Ye's eyes lit up: "So even if they really are the Filth Race, we only need to face a small portion of their forces?"
"That's correct. Now that the Insect Path is open, there's only one way to defend our home galaxy—kill all the invading enemies and make the Filth Race retreat from difficulty." Ma Shangsi said.
Despite saying this, Ma Shangsi knew that with Jade Conch's strength, achieving this would be exceedingly difficult. He secretly resolved that if the situation seemed dire, he must take the Saintly Venerable away from here; the Saintly Venerable must not fall here.
Following this, Ma Shangsi shared more intelligence about the Filth Race that he knew. The deeper the understanding of the Filth Race, the more the group realized the tough situation ahead.
Along the way, messages constantly streamed from the icy domain.
The situation was not optimistic.
It had only been a few days, yet the icy domain was on the brink of falling.
It's not that Jade Conch cultivators lacked effort; they might not grasp the Filth Race's depths, but the Moon Jade stationed there understood, if they couldn't hold the icy domain, Jade Conch's demise was imminent, so they fought with all their might.
But the invading enemies had no fear of death, and upon their demise, the Force of Filth within their bodies would disperse. Now the icy domain is saturated with Force of Filth, initially providing only one Insect Path for passage; Jade Conch cultivators only needed to guard the Insect Path's exit to gain geographic advantage, but now the situation reversed.
Jade Conch cultivators had to risk Force of Filth corrosion to kill enemies.
Currently there, Jade Conch cultivators are hindered, unable to kill or refrain from killing.
This is the most troublesome aspect of the Filth Race; they don't fear death because those dying aren't primarily their cultivators, and early deaths lay groundwork for the final invasion.
News relayed from the icy domain showed that those Jade Conch killed weren't Filth Race, but cultivators enslaved from various races.
The Filth Race hid in shadows for years, leveraging the Celestial Frost Mirror in warfare, countless galaxies were destroyed; the creatures from those galaxies weren't all slain, many were tainted by Force of Filth, becoming slaves for launching new wars.
Thus, all Jade Conch cultivators can do now is strive to dispel or purify the Force of Filth over the icy domain.
Effect is minimal, as those with such capability are mainly healing cultivators, who are the least plentiful among factions.
Lu Ye's starboat was rushing toward the icy domain at maximum speed, but even so, it'll still take several days to arrive.
Two more days passed, new messages flowed from the battlefield.
The Filth Race amassing in the icy domain reached a certain scale; no new enemies emerged; instead, they were laying out something.
Over time, Jade Conch's Moon Jade could sense the Insect Path was becoming increasingly stable.
The Insect Path is crafted by Celestial Frost Mirror's chilling air freezing the shattered space, differing from a typical Insect Path, hence initially unstable and limited in bulk—this is why Sun Blaze couldn't come directly; forcing it through risks collapsing the Insect Path, if the path collapses, any creatures traversing it would meet no favorable end.
Yet now, with all the Filth Race's arrangements, that Insect Path is showing stability!
This is a very bad sign, for if the Insect Path becomes stable enough, could Sun Blaze directly come through?
If true, Jade Conch is completely doomed.
Upon receiving the news, everyone turned to Ma Shangsi. He shook his head: "My knowledge of the Filth Race is only that; beyond it, I'm unaware. But judging by intelligence relayed thus far, the enemy's actions likely do strive to bring Sun Blaze over."
The Moon Jade group all felt their scalps tingle.
Qiu Wu couldn't help but urge: "Faster, even faster!"
