Sage of Humanity-Chapter 1711 - 1709: Fierce Battle
The Filth Race waged war on all fronts, appearing and disappearing without a trace, relying on nothing other than the stellar space supreme treasure, the Celestial Frost Mirror. This treasure can randomly release Celestial Frost Freezing Air at a certain location in stellar space, freezing fractured space, and thereby creating traversable Insect Paths.
However, the Insect Paths frozen by the Celestial Frost Freezing Air are generally unstable, and can only support passage up to the Moon Jade Realm, with certain risks involved.
Thus, the Filth Race's strategy typically involves first dispatching some Moon Jades to stabilize the situation at the Insect Path's exit, occupying advantageous positions, and then using means to solidify the Insect Path. Once the path becomes stable enough for Sun Blaze to traverse, the overall situation can be determined.
This is the initial reason why the Filth Race held the advantage yet remained hidden in that filth-filled region instead of hunting them down. They were unsure about which star system this place belonged to, or whether a Sun Blaze was overseeing it. To be cautious, they naturally had to guard the Insect Path and deploy methods to stabilize it.
Lu Ye had been somewhat puzzled before because, although the number of Moon Jades deployed by the Filth Race was not small, just over a dozen Moon Jades was definitely not a lot.
Even if Ma Shangsi mentioned that the Filth Race had multiple battlefields in stellar space, and that we only needed to deal with a small fraction of the Filth Race's power, a race as vast as the Filth Race should be able to casually dispatch dozens of Moon Jades, not just a few hundred.
It wasn't until the Filth Race giant arrived that Lu Ye discerned the key factor.
It was due to the Insect Path!
He keenly sensed that with the arrival of the Filth Race giant, the Insect Path clearly shook, which affected its stability, making it more chaotic than before.
In other words, the Insect Path opened up by the Celestial Frost Mirror could support passage by Moon Jades, but each passing Moon Jade would affect the path's stability.
Therefore, the Filth Race initially sent only a dozen Moon Jades—not because they didn't want to send more, but because they couldn't!
This was probably a number set according to the potential exhibited by the Jade Conch cultivators.
In the Filth Race's eyes, these dozen Moon Jades that arrived first, relying on the geographical advantage, were sufficient to protect the Insect Path. As long as they could successfully complete the means to stabilize the path, Sun Blaze could charge through the path, rendering the Jade Conch absolutely powerless to resist.
The Filth Race's plan was flawless; if Lu Ye hadn't coincidentally encountered this battle, the current potential of the Jade Conch would indeed be in crisis.
But it so happened that Lu Ye, accompanied by Ma Shangsi, was visiting the Jade Conch, when they rushed over here altogether.
On the battlefield, the Filth Race's Moon Jades suffered heavy losses. Without reinforcements, all previous arrangements and efforts would be in vain.
Thus, the Filth Race giant arrived, and not only him, but other Moon Jades were also traversing the Insect Path, likely to arrive soon.
In a showdown, the Filth Race seemed to understand the situation of Jade Conch, gaining Insight into the absence of Sun Blaze.
Because if the Jade Conch had Sun Blaze, they surely would have intervened by now, but until this moment, only Moon Jades had joined the battle, indicating that Jade Conch is not a powerful star system.
This is precisely the best target for the Filth Race's conquest, so they decisively dispatched reinforcements.
Two separate Treasure Blood Avatars reached the Filth Race's filthy tower, and with a raise of their hands, destroyed it. Though deployed by the Filth Race, this device was not sturdy, and hence not difficult to annihilate.
With the destruction of this filthy tower, Lu Ye clearly felt another disruption in the Insect Path.
He immediately realized that he had made the right choice, and destroying these towers would significantly impact the Filth Race's upcoming plans.
The two Treasure Blood Avatars promptly set to action. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
On another front, at the Insect Path's exit, the Filth Race giant and Ma Shangsi were engaged in fierce combat.
On the surface, it appeared to be a balanced confrontation, but in reality, Ma Shangsi faced great pressure. It's not that his strength was inferior; the filth was constantly contaminating his Blood Sea and Mana. While short-term engagement with the opponent was not an issue, over time, the forces he could muster would inevitably weaken.
In contrast, the Filth Race giant was unaffected by the filth, thriving instead within it.
Fortunately, Lu Ye was present.
The master and servant duo previously joined forces to kill several Moon Jades; although it was their first collaboration, their cooperation was remarkably skilled. As the Filth Race giant was entangled by Ma Shangsi, Lu Ye activated the Brazen Plundering Technique, his form moving spectrally as blade glints flickered incessantly.
The Filth Race giant roared in anger, bearing more and more massive wounds.
Lu Ye increasingly felt the immense power of the magic-treasure class Boulder Mountain Saber!
Though not as resilient as the Stone Race, the Giant Race is ranked among the top ten in stellar space in terms of basic toughness.
Born with thick skin and muscle, particularly this time emerging from the Insect Path as a Peak Moon Jade giant, even ordinary magical treasure blades hardly pose much threat to them.
The Boulder Mountain Saber is effective!
Inherently sharp beyond compare, and complemented by Lu Ye's blessing of the Divine Sharp Edge Spirit Runes, it can breach the physical defenses of any enemy whose cultivation is below the Sun Blaze.
On each wound, the flesh rolls over, appearing horrific and unbearable to look at. Yet, in reality, such wounds are merely superficial for someone at the Peak Moon Jade Realm, even for a Constellation.
But the Filth Race giant detected something wrong, as the wounds that should have swiftly healed were now mending very sluggishly. Moreover, an extremely peculiar power seemed to linger around the wounds, obstructing their healing.
The Filth Race giant roared repeatedly, trying to seize a chance to eliminate Lu Ye while contending with Ma Shangsi, realizing this leaping human was a nuisance.
However, armed with the Brazen Plundering Technique inherited from Yien Xi, Lu Ye was as elusive as a specter, slashing once before retreating, with Ma Shangsi's Blood Sea masking his presence, leaving no opening for the Filth Race giant to exploit.
In another fierce clash, Ma Shangsi withdrew, glaring sinisterly at the Filth Race giant. Meeting his gaze, the giant was startled, realizing there was trouble ahead.
He had fought Blood Race members before, naturally knowing how disadvantageous it was to face one with the body riddled with wounds.
Without hesitation, the Filth Race giant charged towards Ma Shangsi's location.
Ma Shangsi sneered, allowing the massive Wolf Fang Club to strike him, seemingly shattering to pieces, and merging into the Blood Sea as a mass of blood Qi.
In the next moment, the Filth Race giant's expression changed as those many wounds on his body were abruptly torn wide open by an invisible force, growing larger, unleashing torrents of blood he had intentionally controlled from flowing too much.
He knew this was the Blood Attraction Technique of the Blood Race!
Under normal circumstances, this blood technique doesn't notably impact cultivators above the Constellation level, as they have incredibly robust physiques and swift recovery techniques. Without wounds, the Blood Attraction Technique loses its grip.
However, the wounds inflicted by the Boulder Mountain Saber aren't easily healed. Combined with Ma Shangsi, a Peak Moon Jade wielder of this blood technique, even the Filth Race giant couldn't withstand it.
Feeling the frantic flow of his blood, the Filth Race giant was in disarray, frantically searching for his enemies but couldn't catch sight of Ma Shangsi or even Lu Ye.
This is the revolting aspect of contending with the Blood Race within a Blood Sea—where they move freely unless one possesses overwhelming strength. Otherwise, there's little one can do against the Blood Race.
In normal times, the Filth Race giant could flee from here and seek a better opportunity elsewhere. But arriving from the Insect Path, his greatest responsibility was guarding the Insect Path's exit.
He was pinned here, unable to escape.
"Come out!" he roared, his mana surging as he swung the Wolf Fang Club, causing turmoil within the Blood Sea.
Ma Shangsi remained hidden, allowing the giant to rampage within the Blood Sea, even relishing the sight. The more the Filth Race giant struggled, the stronger the effects of the Blood Attraction Technique he invoked.
Lu Ye, hiding elsewhere in the Blood Sea, observed the Filth Race giant's miserable figure with cold eyes.
Moments later, Ma Shangsi suddenly exclaimed, "Not good, another Moon Jade is coming from the Insect Path!"
Judging from the aura, it's another being no less powerful than the Filth Race giant.
Dealing with one Filth Race giant alongside Lu Ye posed no challenge for Ma Shangsi; the situation was under control. Now all he needed to do was hide in the Blood Sea, continuously invoking the Blood Attraction Technique, thereby ensuring the Filth Race giant's inevitable death once his blood is drained.
Yet, with the arrival of another enemy akin to the Filth Race giant, Ma Shangsi felt uncertain, especially since the Force of Turbidity increasingly affected him.
His mind raced, and Ma Shangsi resolved, "Saintly Venerable, I'll go kill him!"
In these circumstances, only by killing the Filth Race giant first could he fully focus on the new incoming enemy.
"No rush!" Lu Ye calmly replied.
It's very dangerous to forcibly kill the Filth Race giant now; the enemy has become aware of the impending danger. While hiding with Ma Shangsi is fine, revealing themselves would lead to a fierce counterattack, adding unnecessary risks.
Currently, the victory against the Filth Race giant is assured; there's no need for unnecessary risks.
"But..." Ma Shangsi still had his concerns, quickly understanding Lu Ye's calm composure as formidable auras suddenly entered the Blood Sea from all directions, moving towards the Insect Path's position.
They were the Moon Jades of the Jade Conch and Lu Ye's five Treasure Blood Avatars!
Previously, Ma Shangsi was preoccupied battling the Filth Race giant and wholly focused on executing the Blood Attraction Technique, leaving him unaware of the battlefield's outside situation until now, realizing the Moon Jades of the Jade Conch had vanquished all their opponents, exterminating the invading Filth Race Moon Jades!
