Chapter 325: Chapter 262: Money Issues

"How sure are you Marquess Green?" Duke Oswald asked the black haired man.

Duke Oswald was a burly man with a brown-skinned man and long red-orange hair tied in a ponytail. Compared to the others he was quite young looking. Appearing to be in his teens.

Marquis Green gave him an annoyed look, "Duke Oswald just think about it. A Kingdom as great as Sandeph without healers. Monsters that appear from the dungeons roam our lands and people get injured and die. At first with the healers here we can heal the injured and with a Saintess, we can revive the dead. But now both are gone, won’t the peace we have be ruined? The adventurers would refuse to hunt monsters, the people would refuse to work on our farms since sicknesses and disease spread there because of the unpurified lands."

"What about getting healers from other Kingdoms?" Antya suggested.

Marquis Green scoffed, "Heh, you want to ask those bastard tree lovers and undead maniacs for healers? That would clearly show that our Kingdom is in trouble."

"We already aren’t on friendly terms with them, and if they find out that our Kingdom has no healers we could be in trouble," Advisor Chu said, backing Green’s answer.

Aunty glared at Marquis Green, who simply gave her an arrogant smirk.

"It doesn’t matter, even without our healers they won’t dare to attack us," King Girsal’s statement interrupted the two’s clash, both of them turning to him now.

"But what if they run away? I mean the healers!" Huns asked.

After the question left his lips, the room which had been somewhat chaotic, with the many different individuals giving ideas and discussion became silent as a mouse. All had thoughtful expressions.

After the silence went on for a couple more seconds, King Girsal spoke, "It’s not possible. As long as their worshippers of goddess Paige are unable to abandon the church of their own will. If they did that the main church would hunt them down and punish them."

"Find them, find who took our healers away. Announce throughout the kingdom that anyone who finds the healers would receive over 600,000 mana stones," King Girsal shouted. It hadn’t been clear before since only those by him were allowed to talk, but the hall they were in was currently filled with magistrates.

After hearing his order, they all bowed in unison, "Yes your majesty!"

Since his order was given, the more important novels who’d been by him started to leave as well.

"Melissa, wait."

"Yes, your Majesty?" Melissa turned to him.

"Let’s contact the Apple Shire empire. Send a picture of the princess to them."

"Excuse me if I’m being presumptuous but your majesty, do you mean to propose a marriage alliance to them?"

King Girsal nodded, "Right now we really need the healers to strengthen our men during their training, and they are the most powerful human empire in the south. So it might be a good idea to reach out to them."

"But your majesty as the Saintess hasn’t been found, would they really agree to a Marriage alliance?" Melissa asked with a worried expression.

King Girsal swiped his hand, "We’re not using Aurianna, but rather my second daughter Princess Helto."

"Okay your Majesty I shall do as you wish," Melissa bowed before she left.

"Aurianna is still alive, her life orb is still glowing. But why can’t I track her!?" King Girsal wondered as he gritted his teeth.

"Achoo, who’s thinking about me?" Eva asked. Wiping her snotty nose, she was currently relaxing on a cloud in her space.

______

Thirty people filled the seats of a long table as Aurianna sat there looking gloomy. Before her was a screen, filled with many messages, most of them being complaints.

"So... we’re broke?"

Once the question left Aurianna’s lips the room suddenly became deathly quiet. All stared at her, shock written on their faces. It had only been 6 months since Aurianna had taken over and there were issues already. The fact that she’d been so oblivious until now was quite surprising .

Hotron sighed, a darkened expression on his face, "Unfortunately yes. Today we’ve come to discuss the case about money. Even though some of the individuals here aren’t bored with just staying in the church, there are others who like to go out and enjoy themselves. However they’ve all realized one thing, they’re dirt broke."

"Since we don’t train for a whole day like before, everyone has chosen jobs and would like to be paid for their efforts," Beatrice, a brown-skinned lady with long ears, stated simply to the room. She had short blonde hair and a pair of dark green eyes.

She continued speaking, "Unfortunately, during these past few months, all our money was spent on buying livestock and fishes to reproduce on our farm. And also to provide food to the former slaves."

"Now our food storage is almost finished," Malik added.

"Then why was I brought here? Do I look like I know anything about making money?" Aurianna grumbled.

Silence filled the room once more.

Jade chuckled slightly, breaking the silence that had filled the room., "Well, that’s not reassuring to hear. But either way you are technically our leader so you should be involved in cases like this."

"Tch," Aurianna clicked her tongue while listening.

"Okay... So does anyone have any ideas?" Dielle asked, scanning the room. He wasn’t too familiar with the business managing side of the church. Since in the past they would get meager pay to help with their daily lives.

Zain scratched his chin thoughtfully, "Well we could always go back to the old ways of giving our healers away and have them be paid."

"Never!!" They all spat, glaring at Zain in anger. Uncomfortable memories still lingered around.

"What about converting our healing buffs into potions then?" A green-skinned, young man suggested nervously, gathering everyone’s attention. He had dark brown hair with a pair of yellow-green eyes, and had two protruding tusks from the bottom of his lips showing that he was an ogre.

"What did you say?" Kevin asked, since he’d been deep in his thoughts. Looking up, he noticed everyone’s attention was on the ogre.

"Like instead of us going to heal and buff others, we turn it into potions." The man responded.

"That’s a wonderful idea!" Kevin praised happily. He tilted his head slightly, "Ummm...What’s your name by the way?"

"Umm, Wevein Vincela sir," the ogre answered, and despite everyone’s initial thoughts of someone like him, he was actually very soft spoken. If it was from nerves of all eyes being on him or this just his temperament was unclear.

Kevin’s eyes lit up in realization. "Oh, you’re that smart kid, who got permission to join the council. Thanks for the idea." He gave him a thumbs up.

"But aren’t there already healing potions?" Jugi crossed his arms with an intense expression, cutting the happiness short.

"Yes, but are they as effective as a healer?" Wevein asked. All in the room shook their heads in denial.

Kairo added, "It’s a good idea, but the fact that some healing potions exist could be a problem. And also I’ve never heard of a buffing potion."

"Well it’s because people totes didn’t really need them since they had healers to do that for them," Avriel cut in.

"But how would we do that? Like creating a buff potion and healing potion different from the others?" Kevin asked, looking at Wevein with expectancy.

"Well it’s quite simple, just get some water, cast your magic inside for a long time, and then it will have an affinity. That was the result from my experiment and I wanted to present it to the Saintess," Wevein said as he took out a glass bottle of red-colored liquid.

"Looks like blood to me," Someone in the room muttered worriedly.

"It’s not, it’s the red perioditt fruit from the farm. It’s known to have a sweet taste and also increase the rate of healing. So I developed this and also poured healing magic into it for 7 days," Wevein stated defensively, however, everyone was giving him with the ’I don’t know what you’re talking about, but I’m listening’ look.

"The head of the alchemy department can appraise it," Wevein said, tossing the bottle towards an old brown-skinned woman. She had curly gray hair and a pair of plain black eyes. She looked the bottle up and down and a few seconds later she opened her mouth in shock.

"This is incredible!" She blurted out.

"What is it Marionett?" Kevin asked.

Marionett started talking quickly, excitedly, as her eyes were wide open from the sight in her hands, "This potion is the same quality of a healer pouring mana into someone for 3 hours to heal their wounds! ...But this potion might heal them way quicker. An hour? Maybe 30 minutes or even less! This is better than any healing potion I’ve ever seen!"

"I guess we shall use your idea then Wevein," Aurianna said with a smile, Wevein scratched his head with a bashful look.

’Hehehehe,’ Aurianna laughed mischievously in her head. Eva just sighed at her reaction, knowing what she was thinking.

Aurianna’s jewelry and expensive clothing she had for her birthday were sacrificed to get all the food and necessities for the church, so that they can grow their own and buying different kinds of fruits and vegetables as well as livestock wasn’t cheap.

And as a noble, even though she herself adored beautiful and expensive stuff, she had to be modest now. And despite her having a ton of money, why would she dare reveal that information? She’ll just play along and ignore Jade, Jugi, Zagan, Hadina and Avriel’s judgemental stares.
