Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 561: "Come with me. "
After Qie Xieling was given a new clean bill of health they finally left him alone. He decided to take a shower first.
He sat at the edge of the bed for a moment thinking about Luo Muchen. He knew that Luo Muchen hadn’t woken up and that his dad would tell him when he did but he couldn’t help but be anxious.
He wanted to see him and pull him into his arms but at the same time, he was afraid. He was afraid that the Luo Muchen in the game would be different from the one in the real world. Just like in the game worlds, he would have to pursue him that is if Luo Muchen didn’t dislike him.
Qie Xieling closed his eyes and heaved a deep sigh. The door was suddenly knocked and his dad came in. "Lin Lin...," called out Wen Qinxi as he held a glass of warm water and pills.
Qie Xieling turned around and smiled slightly. "Dad," he said while Wen Qinxi sat next to him.
"Here, drink this," he said while handing him the colourful pills and water.
Qie Xieling immediately took them making sure to gulp down as much water as possible to avoid the bitter taste of the pills touching his tongue. Wen Qinxi was just staring at him with a look of concern on his face. He reached out and pushed away the long strands of hair hanging on his forehead. Qie Xieling’s hair had grown longer ever since he got kidnapped. He was long overdue for a haircut.
"Dad is sorry... I should have done a better job at protecting you," he said and Qie Xieling put down the half-drunk glass with a look of confusion on his face.
"Dad, why are you apologising? It’s not your fault that that psycho targeted you," said Qie Xieling wishing he could tear that man apart with his own hands. His eyes flickered with a glint of deep seated hatred and he clenched his fist.
Wen Qinxi could sense his anger simmering beneath the surface and on the verge of erupting. Machu had told them that he shouldn’t get overly stimulated for the coming days. This was the reason why they didn’t tell him that Luo Muchen was awake. It wasn’t the right time for them to meet yet.
He reached out and touched his hand before saying, "Regardless I should have been able to see through Leong Jinn... He will never hurt you ever again... I promise you that."
Qie Xieling finally calmed down. He rested his head on his dad’s shoulder and asked, "Then... what happened to him? Is he dead?"
Wen Qinxi’s lips quirked slightly before saying, "No... death is too easy for him. He needs to suffer first and pay for everything that he did."
What did they do to him? Well, they gave him a taste of his own medicine. They put him in the very same game but the way Wen Qinxi programmed it left Leong Jinn wishing for death. He would be forever trapped in the game till his natural death but he would die the most painful deaths in the game with maximum pain settings. He was about to experience a thousand painful ways to die tearing his mental fortitude to shreds.
Qie Xieling felt a great sense of relief. He was afraid that this crazy bastard would come back and hurt his family again.
Wen Qinxi turned his face and kissed the top of Qie Xieling’s head. "Go take a shower. I will pick some clothes for you," he said and Qie Xieling nodded his head before getting up.
While Qie Xieling entered the bathroom, Wen Qinxi entered the walk-in closet and started looking for comfortable clothes for his son. While he was going through the pants stacked up neatly he saw a jewellery box. It was one of the things that were on Qie Xieling when they took him out of the game capsule. He opened it and found the black half of a pendant in the box. He raised it and smiled slightly before putting it with the pile of clothes.
Meanwhile, the white half hanging around Luo Muchen’s neck was swaying as he jumped over the wall. While his mother was preoccupied with Hei Xiwen, he left the house and came to the Qie mansion.
He could have walked in through the front gate but those serious looking guards had called the main house and the butler informed him that no one was allowed in.
When he gave his name it took an even longer time for the butler to get back to him. This time the answer was even more specific. The butler relayed a message from Qie Ranzhe telling him to go home and rest.
Luo Muchen got into his car and drove off. What he didn’t know was that Qie Ranzhe was standing in the surveillance room watching him. The head of security pointed out that he was leaving but Qie Ranzhe knew for a fact that he wasn’t going to give up that easily.
Qie Ranzhe was right. Luo Muchen had climbed over the wall and jumped down. He landed softly on the grass and tiptoed towards the mansion. There were dogs on the property and security on constant patrol but for some reason, he didn’t get caught. Just when he reached the patio, he was suddenly startled seeing a tall figure standing in the dark as though waiting for him. Qie Ranzhe’s expression was stern as he looked at him.
More than once Qie Xieling had told him that his father didn’t like him and he had always made himself scarce in front of him. He still had no idea why Qie Ranzhe didn’t like him.
He had tried to avoid him as much as possible, but now he was caught red-handed trying to sneak into his family home.
The two of them stared at each other for a very long time. The tension between them was intense. Luo Muchen for the first time was helpless. He didn’t know what to say or do.
Qie Ranzhe finally broke the silence. He said in a low voice, "Come with me."
