Saving the World in an Apocalypse-Style Text Game-Chapter 1155 - 522: The Great Kashyapa Buddha of Impure Light, The Soul Coffin of Wonderful Virtue_2
I don’t know if the Buddhist sect in this Chapter of the world was inherently evil, or if it became so after being corrupted by the Evil God. Whether it was the cultivation techniques practiced by the Buddhas or the weapons and props they held, all exuded an extremely evil aura.
Lin Xun, however, had no psychological aversion to this; it didn’t matter to him whether the prop was righteous or evil.
He clicked on the prop, erasing the lifeblood of the Awakened Vajra Bowl. This Buddha had already been annihilated in both body and spirit, so there was no use keeping the lifeblood. Better to clear the space quickly for someone fated to have it.
[’The Book of Technique of Desire and Emptiness’ (Immortal+ Level Prop): A Buddhist technique that originated from The Great Kashyapa Buddha of the Impure Light, which was one of the Three Thousand Great Path taught by Yama God. Later, the Buddha imparted this technique to his disciple, The Great Kashyapa. It is unknown how this technique ended up in the hands of Vajra Haemother...]
[Since the Vajra Haemother lacked the fundamental potential to cultivate the actual Great Path Method, ’Dhi-Meditation Twin Emptiness Bliss Method’ (Desire and Emptiness), the technique recorded in the scripture is a distilled version improved by Kasyapa Buddha, which allowed Vajra Haemother to practice it.]
[...]
According to White Elephant Senior Brother’s explanation, the Great Path Method does not simply denote the rank or level of a cultivation technique, but rather, by cultivating this technique and attaining enlightenment, one has a certain probability of realizing the related Great Path during ascension to divinity or Buddhahood, which are the Authority and Power Capabilities.
Yama God dispersing the Three Thousand Great Paths was akin to sowing three thousand different seeds of Power Capability, rapidly bolstering the might of the celestial and Buddhist deities...]
Lin Xun had already learned this technique from Vajra Haemother, so he decided to leave this Skill Book for the Nine-tailed Fox to cultivate; it would be perfect.
[’Wonderful Virtue’s Reincarnation Soul Coffin’ (Special Prop): This Magical Artifact is a Soul Coffin that saves and releases Wonderful Virtue Bodhisattva’s damaged soul, intended for nurturing severely injured souls, allowing them to reincarnate and re-enter the cycle of rebirth.]
[However, no soul remnants seem to exist within the Soul Coffin, and it appears to have been remolded and refined, losing its original effects.]
[After acquiring ’The Book of Technique of Desire and Emptiness,’ using this prop will cause both the Shell and the soul to undergo a brief, mysterious change.]
"Who exactly is this Wonderful Virtue Bodhisattva who removed the barriers of desire?"
Lin Xun furrowed his brows and asked White Elephant Demon, but even the Senior Brother did not know the origins of this Bodhisattva.
He temporarily set aside the doubts in his heart and looked at the last prop, the ’The Great Kashyapa of the Impure Light’s Prajna Heart Sutra.’
This prop was an informational one, recording scriptures and legends about Buddha Kasyapa, and it seemed to contain other things as well.
[’The Great Kashyapa of the Impure Light’s Prajna Heart Sutra’ (Informational Prop)]
[...]
[Before his enlightenment, Kasyapa was born into a wealthy, influential family. His family’s wealth was immense, beyond measure.]
[Disdainful of worldly desires and impurities, Kasyapa yearned only to renounce the world and practice cultivation. He was unwilling to inherit the family’s vast fortune.]
[As Kasyapa grew older, the time came for him to marry. His parents, ignoring his wishes, chose a wife for him.]
[On the wedding night, the bride, Wonderful Virtue, washed her face with tears, miserable, while Kasyapa was also deep in gloom. Although Wonderful Virtue was known far and wide for her beauty, both detested worldly desires and yearned for a life of ascetic cultivation.]
[After revealing their true feelings to each other, they agreed to maintain only the name of husband and wife, without the physical relationship, thus providing mutual satisfaction.]
[The pure relationship between the two lasted twelve years, until Kasyapa’s parents passed away, allowing the future disciple of Buddha to finally let go of familial attachments and leave home to practice cultivation.]
[After becoming a monk, Kasyapa left his wife, Wonderful Virtue, to look after the family wealth, with the agreement that once he found an enlightened teacher and achieved his own awakening, he would return to take Wonderful Virtue to join him as a monastic.]
[Later, Kasyapa was accepted as a disciple by the Buddha and only after three or four years attained enlightenment and returned to his hometown to bring his wife, Wonderful Virtue, to join him in monastic life.]
[Convinced her husband had forgotten their agreement and unwilling to wait any longer, Wonderful Virtue left home to practice cultivation alone. However, she was deceived and joined a heterodox sect of external ways without lineage.]
[This heterodox sect, also known as the Nude External Way, was a perverse sect that misinterpreted the Three Thousand Great Path taught by Yama God. They practiced nudity as their righteous path, advocating nakedness and abandoning evil ways to reveal their true form.]
[And with Wonderful Virtue being exceedingly beautiful, she was subjected to endless humiliation by the persistent coercion of many followers of the Nude External Way.]
[Intending to take his wife with him to renounce the world, Kasyapa was enraged to find her fallen into the company of the heretical sect and entwined in carnal lust. In his fury, he wielded Great Divine Power, not only annihilating the Nude External Way but also nearly obliterating Wonderful Virtue’s soul.]
[After learning of this, the Buddha, foreseeing past and future, recounted the full events to his disciple. He revealed that Wonderful Virtue served the heretical sect with her love and desire, ultimately leading them back to the right path.]
[Realizing the truth, Kasyapa was filled with remorse, but Wonderful Virtue had only a faint sliver of soul left.]
[Kasyapa forged the Reincarnation Soul Coffin, hoping to nurture Wonderful Virtue’s damaged soul, allowing it to be reborn and re-enter into the cycle of samsara. However, before the Soul Coffin was completed, Wonderful Virtue’s remnant soul had already dissipated into nothingness.]
[The Buddha posthumously honored Wonderful Virtue with the title ’Wonderful Virtue Bodhisattva who relieved obstructions of desire,’ and passed the ’Dhi-Meditation Twin Emptiness Bliss Method’ on to Kasyapa as a warning that fleshly desires are the root of all troubles...]
[...]
"So it turns out that the Wonderful Virtue Bodhisattva was the legal consort of a Buddha’s disciple, and she has already passed away."
The Underworld Game’s description of the ’Reincarnation Soul Coffin’ was rather vague, and Lin Xun wanted to search for clues in the informational prop, but the scriptural records concerning Kasyapa abruptly came to an end.
[The last few pages of the scripture contained hastily written notes. Judging by the handwriting, they were likely written by a woman, and every line was filled with indignation...]
