A demon entered the city and saw lambs everywhere.

They laughed wildly, exhilarated, revealing their savage nature before the lambs. Then, they saw one lamb that didn’t tremble in fear but instead looked excited. At this moment, countless followers of the Seventh Clergy, mercenaries, and wilderness refugees who had entered the city alongside them experienced a new kind of terror. They had thought they were entering a cursed place, as described in rumors—a place where the people were weak and punished by God, incapable of resisting either physically or mentally.Their initial success in breaking through the patrol army’s outer defenses seemed to confirm this belief. But once they truly entered the city, they discovered that hidden among these trembling lambs was a demon. He wore a black raincoat and a goat-faced mask, driving a modified car that already symbolized fear in the wilderness with its dirty exterior adorned with a mucous-like mask. Wherever he went, terrified screams followed, leaving behind piles of corpses. He would smile as he made fierce mercenaries obediently bite his gun barrel with just one look.He would swing a blood-red scythe to slice a Battle Angel cleanly in half from afar.He would charge into crowds, rip a heart out from someone’s back, and turn them into his puppet. This cursed place truly has a demon! At the same time, many residents of Scrap Iron City who had been too scared to go out at night due to reports were now pleasantly surprised to find that the children were right: The goat-faced demon is on our side! “Big bro, stop killing already! Can’t you do something productive for once?”From one street to another, Wei Wei’s modified car was riddled with bullet holes. Most of its bulletproof glass had been torn off in successive battles. Wei Wei had cleared out many members of the wandering clergy who had infiltrated the city and saved many people. But his condition wasn’t much better than that of the car—his face was pale as paper, and cold sweat poured from him in layers. The head hanging from the rearview mirror couldn’t help but open its eyes again, weakly pleading:“My heart can’t take this anymore… though I don’t have one.”This guy always liked hanging it on the rearview mirror—the spot most likely to get hit by stray bullets!Wei Wei rubbed his throbbing temples and forced a bright smile onto his face:“Aren’t I doing something productive right now?”“You call this productive?”The head muttered under its breath but outwardly maintained a serious tone: “Look at yourself in the mirror—do you see how weak you’ve become?”“Using abilities nonstop while gravely ill is like having a bad cold during your period—do you get it?”“What kind of analogy is that?” Wei Wei thought to himself but strangely found it oddly relatable.“The only thing keeping you going right now is the activation of your crimson power,” the head warned sternly. “Your body is so weak it’s worse than an ordinary person’s. To be honest, any other transcendental at your level would’ve degenerated into a monster by now.” It paused before adding reluctantly: “Though you seem too crazy for that to happen… still, your body can’t sustain this madness any longer. If you encounter another Battle Nun squad, you’ll definitely die.”“Nonsense! I…” Wei Wei instinctively retorted but froze mid-sentence as he spotted a black-and-white figure rushing toward him—a rapidly approaching Battle Nun.Startled, he grabbed his silver handgun. This gun had been absorbing demon power throughout his journey through the city, alleviating people’s suffering and slightly reducing their symptoms while giving them some courage and resistance against danger. Though slow in its absorption rate, it hadn’t stopped working. As a result, an incredible amount of energy had accumulated within it—the gun barrel was faintly warm to the touch. The elegant English signature engraved on its surface now glowed faintly across half its letters. The head wasn’t wrong—Wei Wei was indeed too weak right now.Narrowing his eyes at the approaching Battle Nun, he knew her presence meant there were likely two more nearby.Taking a deep breath, he prepared himself. The head quickly shut its eyes again as if pretending to be just an ordinary dead head. But neither Wei Wei nor the head expected what happened next. The Battle Nun rushed forward without any sign of her two companions following behind her. Instead came the thunderous roar of a motorcycle engine—deep and menacing like a demon’s growl.A grotesque motorcycle covered in flesh-like growths roared into view. Riding atop it was a tall figure wearing a frog-mouth helmet. With immense speed and force, she closed in on her target—a three-meter-long silver lance in hand—and thrust it forward with brutal precision.“Pfft!”The fleeing Battle Nun was impaled instantly and pinned against a truck beside her.Blood gushed from her mouth as she choked on it—never daring to look back at her pursuer even in death. The motorcycle slowed down as it approached Wei Wei’s modified car.Its fuel tank pulsed with an embedded beating heart made of flesh—pumping furiously with life. The rider pulled out her silver lance—its conical tip comically shaped yet terrifyingly stained with blood. The impaled Battle Nun’s body bore a twenty-centimeter-wide hole, nearly splitting her in half.Turning slightly toward Wei Wei’s car window where he stared wide-eyed at her—the frog-mouth helmet’s visor slit narrowed slightly before she spoke coldly:“What are you doing here?”Wei Wei didn’t want to admit how close he’d come to passing out moments ago. Forcing another smile onto his face: “Waiting for the light to turn green.”The frog-mouth knight seemed uninterested in humor or banter; she simply said coldly: “Follow me.”“For what?”“To fight.”Wei Wei was taken aback: “I’ve got things to do.”“This street is clear,” she replied flatly. “Now we deal with real business.”“Your team should’ve already located Pandora’s Box by now—it’s time we destroy it.” Hearing “Pandora’s Box,” Wei Wei perked up immediately and jumped down from his car without hesitation—grabbing the head along with him despite its internal resistance. As he dismounted, the ghostly noblewoman floated down from atop the car as well—gently leaning against him while wrapping an arm around his own. Her incomplete face tilted slightly toward the frog-mouth knight as if studying her curiously. The knight seemed momentarily puzzled by their relationship before asking bluntly: “Who is she?”“She’s my housekeeper,” Wei Wei replied awkwardly before freeing himself from her grasp and climbing onto the motorcycle’s back seat. His body was so weak that even this simple action felt like it drained all his strength. He slumped forward—resting his chin against her armored back while wrapping both arms around her waist for support.“Move your hands lower,” she said coolly after stiffening slightly at his touch.“You’re covered in armor—why does it matter where my hands are?” he thought but complied nonetheless—shifting his grip lower around her empty waistline.Taking a deep breath herself—the knight revved up her engine—and they sped off into Scrap Iron City’s chaos once more. Forcing himself through sheer willpower earlier while driving alone—Wei Wei had felt on the verge of collapse multiple times but managed somehow each time through sheer determination alone…Now seated behind someone else for once—a strange sense of relief washed over him as tension melted away from his exhausted frame entirely…Even more strangely comforting was how cold her armor felt against him—as though icy tendrils were leeching away all residual heat burning within him feverishly before soothingly replacing it instead…For once since falling ill—it felt almost bearable again… “Where are we going?”Wei Wei asked, his mind regaining some clarity as the motorcycle sped forward, weaving through the chaotic streets of Scrap Iron City.“To kill another War Demon,” the frog-mouth knight answered coldly. “Haven’t you noticed? We’re already there.”
