School Transmigration: I, Chosen as the Saint by Dragons at the Start-Chapter 100 --The Dragon in the Consciousness
Golden light erupted in Owen’s eyes, as if scorching magma flowed within his pupils.
A thunderous roar of a metallic torrent resounded around him.
"Strike now!"
An invisible voice roared within his consciousness.
"Strike now!!"
The voice assaulted him again, and Owen’s mind turned tumultuous, like a brewing storm, as if a colossal dragon were rolling in his head.
The apparition of the God of Sea firmly occupied Owen’s mind, enveloping him with a will of death, rendering him powerless to resist.
The descent of the God of Sea represented a dimensional strike, overpowering and unassailable.
"Strike now!!!"
The furious roar echoed once more in Owen’s mind.
In the depths of his mind, a massive dragon rolled amidst the clouds.
Its eyes, like two brilliant stars, were deep and fiery, seemingly piercing through all.
The dragon rolled in the sea, each turn whipping up fierce winds that scattered the clouds formed by concentrated psychic energy.
Its wings, vast as sails, stirred thunder and lightning with every flap, sending electric sparks flying.
Its tail, like a gigantic whip, caused the ground to quake and landscapes to shatter with every swing.
Owen’s seascape of consciousness seemed almost tangible, with the dragon symbolizing his psychic power.
His spirit continuously battled against the phantom of the God of Sea.
Concurrently, Owen’s body underwent a transformation.
His skin was covered in a golden glow, dragon scales enveloping his entire body.
The scales seemed to breathe, opening and closing, exhaling dense white mist.
At that moment, Owen was no longer human but a being between dragon and man.
The white mist twirled around his body like the steam continuously emitted by a train.
The dragon in his mind fiercely lunged towards the apparition of the God of Sea, claw extended.
Mirroring the dragon, Owen made the same movement.
With all his might, he threw a punch, his body emitting a thunderous dragon’s roar.
Owen’s fist collided with the trident of the God of Sea’s apparition.
The entire basement seemed to freeze, as if time itself was momentarily drained.
Then came a thunderous roar, like the earth quaking and mountains shaking.
A massive wave of energy was released from the clash between Owen and the trident.
Boyd, utterly defenseless, was flung backward, crashing into the wall and creating a web of cracks behind him.
He fell heavily to the ground, spitting out blood, and looked at Owen with a mix of awe and fear: "Is this really the strength a diamond-tier dragon should possess?"
Quincy twisted his body, continuously maneuvering to avoid the majority of the terrifying aftershocks.
His movements were serpentine, yet he still sustained some injuries.
Wiping the blood from his mouth, he murmured, "Owen must not be allowed to leave here alive. Dying in Loka City is the best end for him."
After its move, the God of Sea’s apparition faded away like the last rays of the setting sun, swiftly quieting and dissipating.
The powerful Stanbeck, struck by the backlash of the force, was hurled backward, blood gushing from his mouth.
His eyes, fixed on Owen, held an expression of utter disbelief.
The God Summoning Spell, a forbidden technique of the sea race, a desperate gambit, had been thwarted by Owen.
Owen stood his ground, riddled with wounds.
Golden blood oozed continuously from the holes in his body.
The verdant light that kept repairing his body struggled to counter the lingering power of the God of Sea’s apparition.
Once again, Owen was gravely injured.
Enveloped in white mist, with golden-green light coursing through his body, he resembled a fallen deity, banished to the mortal realm.
"Loka, stop playing tricks," Owen said with furrowed brows, his gaze fixed intently on the smiling statue of the Goddess of Loka.
The three members of the sea race were shocked, their eyes darting towards the Goddess of Loka statue.
They could hardly believe that Owen would be so bold as to confront the statue of Goddess Loka directly.
Quincy’s eyes filled with anticipation.
His understanding of Loka City was limited, but if the Goddess of Loka were to intervene and kill Owen, he would welcome it.
Suddenly, Owen and his companions looked on in astonishment.
A black protodragon appeared atop the Goddess of Loka statue, materializing out of nowhere, without any warning.
The black protodragon began at the statue’s feet, slowly spiraling upwards.
Its body, smooth and hard, seemed carved from black stone.
Its eyes flickered with a cold, vibrant light.
Upon closer inspection, it also had a single straight horn, sharp as a knife at the end, unlike the branched horns typical of dragons.
It continued to slither up the statue, evoking a terrifying image of a beautiful woman entwined by a venomous snake.
Owen narrowed his eyes, focusing on the black protodragon.
He had not expected a creature like this to appear here.
By all appearances, this protodragon’s strength seemed to surpass the master-tier.
When had this black protodragon appeared? That was the biggest question in everyone’s minds.
Quincy’s eyes suddenly lit up, pointing at the black protodragon, he exclaimed, "That’s the guardian beast of the Ambition Army, we’ve seen its totem before."
The black protodragon, seemingly indifferent to their presence, continued its ascent along the statue, eventually positioning its head behind the head of the Goddess of Loka.
The statue was now occupied by the body of the black protodragon, its head resting beside the goddess’s head, suggesting an intimate connection between them.
"Was it you just now?" Owen pointed at the black protodragon, his Gold Divine Dragon blood boiling as if on the verge of erupting.
In the evolutionary chain, serpents evolve into protodragons, and protodragons into dragons.
Dragons naturally possess a dominating power over serpents and protodragons.
For a moment, Owen’s previously somber spirit lightened up.
If the mastermind behind all this was the black protodragon, things would be much simpler.
The black protodragon spoke, its voice indeed the same as before, "You seek to take the Heart of the Ocean; this is the punishment you must endure."
Owen, not wanting to delve into other matters with the black protodragon, shifted his gaze and asked, "So it wasn’t a deity speaking, but just you putting on an act."
The black protodragon’s eyes flickered as it coldly responded, "When did I ever claim to be a deity? I am merely the artifact spirit of the Heart of the Ocean; my voice is as it is."
It was all a misunderstanding.
Owen breathed a sigh of relief, realizing that things hadn’t reached a point of despair yet.
It wasn’t the goddess awakening, which was a relief.
Even if a god-tier being had only a fraction of their power left, Owen and his companions would be mere chicks in their presence.
Owen had managed to overcome the apparition of the God of Sea summoned by Stanbeck simply because Stanbeck’s psychic strength was weak, and the summoned apparition was feeble.
Perhaps Stanbeck’s version of the God of Sea was not even one ten-thousandth as powerful as the real deity.
Yet, even that was enough to bring immense pressure to Owen, rendering him unable to confront it directly.
Now that the real entity had appeared, Owen exhaled, "Since you know our purpose, just hand over the Heart of the Ocean."
To his surprise, he saw a trace of mockery in the black protodragon’s eyes.
"To obtain the Heart of the Ocean, there is only one way," the black protodragon declared.
"Shatter this entire space, revealing the true form of the Heart of the Ocean. Can you do it?"
Although the black protodragon had evolved from a serpent, it retained some serpent-like habits, flicking out a scarlet forked tongue and hissing.
Quincy’s face darkened instantly.
Shatter the space? That was a feat beyond even grandmaster-tier powerhouses, let alone them at the master-tier. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
It sounded like a fantasy.
Only beings close to the half-god-tier might be capable of such a feat.
"You don’t need to deceive us. Since we’ve come this far, we certainly won’t give up on the Heart of the Ocean," Quincy said with a firm and unwavering gaze.
The black protodragon, glancing sideways at the profile of the Loka statue, responded nonchalantly, "Suit yourself. I’ve told you the method. If you can do it, the Heart of the Ocean is yours to take."
"Such arrogance. I’ll deal with you first," Quincy said heatedly, huffing and swiftly moving forward.
"Foolish," the black protodragon retorted coldly, its tail, like a towering tree, swiping swiftly beside Quincy.
Quincy, with his exceptional agility, dodged the attack as gracefully as a leaf falling from a tree.
The sea serpent and the protodragon drew closer, the black protodragon scooping up the debris from the earlier battle and hurling it towards Quincy.
But Quincy was an old monster, having used a forbidden technique to return to the peak of his master-tier days.
His physical strength was a combination of two lifetimes, almost god-like in nature.
He shattered the flying debris with brute force.
Before Quincy could feel any sense of triumph, his vision was suddenly filled with a rapidly enlarging figure.
He had just enough time to gather his energy and brace himself defensively.
With a loud thud, he was sent flying three meters away.
Scrambling to his feet, he finally saw clearly that his assailant was a demon ape.
The creature, half-crouching yet still three meters tall, was all bulging sinews, like muscles cast in steel.
Its beady eyes glinted red, and its body was devoid of hair, covered instead in a black, rock-like shell.
Through the uneven cracks in its shell, a dark red liquid flowed, reminiscent of magma.
The demon ape, seemingly unsatisfied, charged at Quincy on all fours.
As it reached him, it swung its massive arms down fiercely.
"Boom—" The entire floor shattered under the impact, dust filling the basement.
A flash of ferocity briefly flickered in Quincy’s eyes.
He suddenly leaped over the creature, his hands transforming into knife-like palms, radiating a brilliant light.
