Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!-Chapter 754: He Went to See Lorraine Hughes
It’s normal for him to be busy with work, and he often works overtime; Summer Sutton didn’t mind his words.
After work, thinking that Adrian Walyon wouldn’t be home anyway, Summer Sutton didn’t want to go back so early, so she asked the driver to take her for some shopping.
The driver waited in the car, while Summer Sutton went down to shop by herself, browsing here and there on the street, and finally bought some yarn, planning to learn how to knit baby scarves and clothes.
Summer Sutton had never done this before; she had tried knitting for Adrian Walyon before, but gave up due to clumsy hands.
Knitting for a baby was a new attempt for her.
After returning home, she had a simple dinner and went back to the villa, busily working alone with the needle and thread.
Once she got into it, she didn’t look up for several hours and forgot the time.
Feeling a bit sore, she stretched her neck, picked up her phone to check the time, and realized it was already nine o’clock.
Adrian Walyon still hadn’t come home!
Summer Sutton stood up to stretch her limbs, walked out of the villa, wanting to check the main house to see if he was there, and ran into Bryce Walyon in the garden.
"Looking for Adrian?" Bryce Walyon greeted her when he saw her.
"Yeah." Summer Sutton nodded and wanted to continue on her way.
"Adrian’s not home," Bryce Walyon reminded her.
Turning his head slightly, he gave her a quick glance and added, "In the afternoon, he seemed to have received a call from Lorraine Hughes and her father, and went to a mountain resort to discuss business. Not sure if he’s finished."
Summer Sutton’s back stiffened, and her steps came to a halt.
Bryce Walyon watched her unobtrusively, observing her reaction.
Adrian Walyon had actually only received a call from Father Hughes, but Bryce Walyon had mixed things up.
The meeting Adrian had with Father Hughes about company matters was muddled by him as well.
"It’s already past nine o’clock!" Bryce Walyon looked at his watch time and deliberately exclaimed.
"I know, Uncle, you should rest early." Summer Sutton snapped back to reality, gave him a bland reply, and with her head down, returned to the villa.
Once in the garden, she called Adrian Walyon.
Adrian Walyon, after arriving at the resort, had been talking to Father Hughes about the companies’ matters, chatting until past eight, and then they ordered dinner and ate together.
Halfway through the meal, Lorraine Hughes called Father Hughes, just asking where he was and didn’t ask who he was with.
After he told her, she came over too.
Adrian Walyon treated her as if she didn’t exist throughout, quietly focusing on his meal, occasionally chatting with Father Hughes.
When Summer Sutton called, the dinner was almost ending.
Adrian Walyon was about to leave, but went to the restroom first. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
He had left his phone on the dining table, and when Summer Sutton’s call came, he wasn’t there.
Lorraine Hughes stared at Adrian Walyon’s constantly ringing phone, gazing at the flashing name on the screen, lost in thought...
When Adrian Walyon returned to the dining table, it was a few minutes past nine.
The phone on the table was gone.
Adrian Walyon bent over to search the chair and under the table but still didn’t see any sign of the phone.
Adrian Walyon furrowed his brows.
"What are you looking for?" Lorraine Hughes stood up and asked concernedly.
Adrian Walyon turned his face, staring at her intently for a few seconds, "My phone."
"What does it look like?" Lorraine Hughes smiled and asked cluelessly.
Adrian Walyon ignored her and continued to search the dining area, even asking at the front desk.
