Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!-Chapter 814: Let Go of His Hand
Summer Sutton could feel that something was weighing on his mind, and she turned her head to look at him several times.
However, Adrian Walyon didn’t seem to notice, still lost in his own thoughts.
During the entire dinner, he was thinking about Morningview matters, while Summer Sutton simply watched him.
Their dinner tonight included a soup placed on his left side, still steaming hot.
When Adrian Walyon ladled it into his bowl, it was still very hot, but he seemed completely unaware, drinking down the whole bowl. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Summer Sutton quietly watched from the side, her delicate brows furrowing slightly.
After dinner, Adrian Walyon went back to the study upstairs.
He stayed in the study for several hours, and by the time he returned to the master bedroom at bedtime, Summer Sutton was still awake.
Adrian Walyon, consumed by his thoughts, didn’t look at her and went straight to the bathroom to take a shower.
Summer Sutton followed him in, and as Adrian Walyon was running the water, she reached out to test it, her brow furrowing yet again.
Spring had just begun, and the temperature in Northtown was still low; his bath water was cold.
Yet, Adrian Walyon seemed unaffected, stepping right in.
Summer Sutton stood by his side until he finished his shower; as he was about to go straight to bed, Summer Sutton suddenly asked, "Did something happen?"
Adrian Walyon looked at her with stiff eyes, somewhat surprised that she had guessed.
Summer Sutton gave him a look that was particularly disdainful.
His behavior was so obvious, how could she not notice?
"I want to know what’s happened." She looked at him steadily, pressing for an answer.
Adrian Walyon was actually reluctant to tell her anything bad.
Summer Sutton was currently pregnant, and in a vulnerable period, so Adrian Walyon only wanted her to focus on resting.
But since she had already found out, if he didn’t say anything, it might only make her mind wander more.
Adrian Walyon remained silent for a long while after her words, his voice very faint, "Something happened at Morningview."
His tone lacked any emotion; he didn’t want to burden Summer Sutton with his concerns.
But Summer Sutton was so perceptive; if it weren’t serious, would it have him so distracted?
"Do you need to go and handle it?" Summer Sutton asked tentatively.
"It’s fine; no need to worry about it." Adrian Walyon walked ahead, about to get into bed, but Summer Sutton held onto his hand.
"If you want to go, just go! Don’t worry about me staying by myself at home; I’ll be fine!" In the dim light, her eyes were bright as she looked at him, her clear pupils seeming to reflect all his thoughts.
Adrian Walyon’s back stiffened, glancing sideways at her, his expression a bit surprised.
"Aren’t there plenty of family and friends here? I have nothing to worry about." Summer Sutton knew what he was concerned about and reassured him once more.
"Summer..." Adrian Walyon’s lips moved, wanting to say something, but his chest was filled with too many emotions, unsure of how to voice them all.
"Go ahead! Just make sure to take care of yourself," Summer Sutton said with a soft smile, turning to help him pack the things he needed for the trip.
Morningview Group was a company he had specifically set up for her, a culmination of over a year of hard work, a powerful demonstration to the Walyons that he could thrive independently of the family.
How could Summer Sutton bear to see him disregard his own hard work?
Adrian Walyon’s chest felt warm as he opened his arms and embraced her tightly.
