Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!-Chapter 866: I’m Not Picky, Anywhere Is Fine
"Where’s the room?" Summer Sutton glanced around after going upstairs.
The man beside her ignored her.
Without a response, Summer decided to search on her own, checking room by room.
In a single man’s villa, there was only one bedroom set up, easy to find.
Summer arrived at the bedroom door, pushed the half-open door, helped him walk inside, and pressed him down to sit on the bed. She went to the bathroom, fetched a small tub of water, and brought a towel to his side.
Today, she was particularly attentive, knowing he had difficulty walking, she brought him water to wash his face.
She even handed him the towel after dipping it in the water, saying, "Here!" 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Everything she did was akin to the actions of a devoted wife.
The man just looked at her, showing no intention of taking the towel.
"Miss Sutton, don’t you intend to sleep here tonight?" He stared at Summer for a while before asking expressionlessly.
Summer pointed to the living room downstairs and said awkwardly, "If you mind, I can actually sleep in the living room."
Fearing he would refuse, she added, "I’m not picky, any place where I can sleep will do."
The man seemed somewhat at a loss with her, taking several deep breaths as if wanting to say something.
Summer bent halfway down, leaned her face towards him, and earnestly studied his dark expression before slowly speaking, "Are you afraid that if I stay here, you’ll be unable to control yourself and do something?"
He remained silent, "..."
For a moment, the man was choked by her words and indifferently retorted, "Miss Sutton, aren’t you overthinking?"
"So be it?" Summer didn’t say much, and since he wouldn’t take the towel, she continued to wipe his face herself.
As the warm towel touched the contours of his exposed face, her gaze fixed on the mask he wore, Summer stared for a while, her hand suddenly shifted direction, fingertips probing the edge of the mask, attempting to remove it swiftly while he was distracted. However, before she could manage to unveil it, her wrist was once again restrained.
Summer believed she was fast enough, but surprisingly, he always caught her in time.
"What is Miss Sutton doing?" His gaze coldly fell on her, his voice somewhat frosty.
Summer nonchalantly withdrew her hand, pretending she hadn’t attempted anything, and continued to wipe his face with the towel. "Nothing, I’m just helping you wash your face."
The man cast a cold glance at her, grabbed the towel from her hand, casually wiped his face, and handed the towel back to her.
He was unwilling to remove the mask in front of Summer, and Summer didn’t force him.
She took the water back to the bathroom, disposed of it, filled the bathtub with water, and upon returning, naturally attempted to help him towards the bathroom.
"The water’s ready, let me help you bathe!"
As she spoke, her expression did not change, calmly stating it in a way unlike a typical girl.
The man lightly massaged his temples with his fingertips, his voice steady yet coldly mocking, "Is Miss Sutton always this dutiful to strange men?"
"That depends on who the man is." Summer scoffed, adding lightly, "It’s not like I haven’t seen it before, what’s the big deal?"
Though she was indeed a woman, she spoke with seemingly no concern.
The nerves in the man’s forehead seemed to twitch twice; he stared at her for a long time, repeatedly taking deep breaths, as if unsure what to do with her.
