Secretly Married to the Ice-Cold CEO-Chapter 505: Xi Xi, Are You Concerned About Me?
Gu Kuangyong had long gotten used to Liang Huiyun’s domineering ways over their many years together, and even enjoyed it.
He advised An Junxi, "Yi Ke has never been so serious about anyone except you. He even dared to scold his parents for your sake. While he was wrong to propose a divorce, he knows his mistake now, doesn’t he? You two have kids; don’t let your momentary anger hurt them."
An Junxi thought her father was such a negotiation expert. His words were reasonable and emotional. No matter how much she hated Gu Yikun, she couldn’t bear to disappoint her father.
She said, "Dad, we will have a good talk."
Gu Kuangyong felt relieved and nudged his wife to say something nice.
Liang Huiyun found it hard to apologize, but for the sake of her beloved granddaughter, she reluctantly said, "From now on, I won’t interfere in your matters. Don’t blame me for being a mean mother-in-law who can’t stand seeing her son and daughter-in-law’s marriage doing well."
This didn’t sit well with An Junxi. Why did it sound like her mother-in-law felt wronged?
Not wanting to lower herself too much, she asked if there were any other issues before heading back.
On the way, she remembered she had promised to cook dinner for Jin Xiu. After visiting Yue Xiaoyang and then the hospital, it was already dark outside.
Xiao Liu drove fast and got her to the building within half an hour.
With the arrival of winter, it got dark early. The car’s heater kept the cold at bay, but as soon as she stepped out, she felt the biting cold.
It was drizzling, and the wind blew the cold rain onto her face.
Xiao Liu offered to hold an umbrella for her, but An Junxi jogged into the building, telling him, "You go home early. I won’t need the car tonight."
Xiao Liu drove off, while An Junxi patted the water droplets off her coat and sneezed.
She took the elevator upstairs and opened her front door to find Gu Yikun’s shoes in the entryway.
She heard the children laughing in the living room. Ai Xi called out, "Daddy, Mommy is back. I can hear her!"
Gu Jinxiu ran out. "Mommy, you got rained on. Didn’t you have an umbrella? Why didn’t you call me to pick you up?"
She was about to ask why his dad was there when Gu Jinxiu bombarded her with questions first.
She sneezed again and said, "I had an umbrella. The rain didn’t seem that heavy."
Gu Jinxiu said, "Mommy, you’re so careless. That’s not okay."
As she was changing her shoes, Gu Yikun appeared in front of her.
Before she could say anything, he threw a towel over her face.
She reached up to remove it. "Gu Yikun, what are you doing!"
He pushed her hand away and wiped the water off her face. "You can’t even look after yourself. How can I trust you with the kids? I think I should just take them home with me."
She dreaded hearing this. "Are you trying to take the kids from me?"
Ai Xi ran out and hugged her daddy’s leg. "Daddy, why do you want to take us?"
Gu Yikun put down the towel and said, "Go take a bath."
He picked up his daughter with one arm. "Daddy doesn’t need to take you. You’re already daddy’s child."
An Junxi stomped on his foot, but he didn’t even flinch. "Go take a bath," he repeated.
Ai Xi echoed, "Go take a bath. Be good."
Gu Yikun went to the living room and sat his daughter down on the couch. Gu Jinxiu led his sister to the room to read, but she protested, "I want to play with Daddy."
Gu Jinxiu persuaded, "Daddy wants to play with Mommy. I’ll teach you to play Snake Game, okay?"
The little one agreed and obediently followed her brother to the study.
An Junxi called out, "Jin Xiu, do you want Mommy to cook for you?"
Nanny He in the kitchen responded, "I’m cooking tonight. It’s almost done. You all just sit tight."
Gu Jinxiu poked his little head out. "I like Nanny He’s cooking too, Mom. It’s okay if you don’t cook."
Gu Yikun, acting as if he owned the place, went into the bathroom to run hot water, then casually walked into An Junxi’s room.
She hurried after him, not sounding friendly, "Who let you in here, Gu Yikun?"
He opened her wardrobe to find clothes, and she hated that he treated her like air. She forcefully shut the wardrobe door. "Gu Yikun!"
He sucked in a breath, his face turning pale.
His left hand got caught in the door, and it immediately bruised. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
She screamed, "Are you stupid? Why didn’t you pull your hand away!"
He was trained in martial arts and had the quickest reflexes. How could he have gotten his hand caught?
Nanny He came running at the noise and was shocked. "Young Master, is your hand broken?"
Her words made An Junxi panic. She hurriedly said, "I’ll get the first aid kit."
"No need, I’ll handle it," Gu Yikun said, taking out her pajamas and dragging her to the bathroom with one hand. "Go shower. Don’t catch a cold."
She stared at his injured left hand, her eyes showing sympathy.
He suddenly moved closer and whispered, "Are you worried about me, Xi Xi?"
His sudden closeness made her ears tingle.
She turned her head away. "No, I’m just sorry that I hurt you."
He nodded. "I was just being sentimental. If you really feel sorry, hurry and shower. If you catch a cold, I’ll take the kids away to keep them from getting sick."
She shoved him outside and slammed the door. "Don’t even think about it!"
He chuckled bitterly outside the door. She was such a wildcat.
Nanny He brought some ointment. "Young Master, let me apply this for you."
He took the ointment. "I can do it myself."
She stood by, worried. "Young Master, it looks pretty bad. Do you need to go to the hospital?"
"No, but your food is burning."
She ran back to the kitchen. Her sweet and sour ribs!
Gu Yikun applied a thin layer of ointment, sitting casually on the couch, waiting for An Junxi to come out.
With his reflexes, it would’ve been easy to avoid the wardrobe door. But to win back his little wife’s sympathy, he had to endure a bit of pain.
Who told him to foolishly talk about divorce? He had brought this on himself.
He looked around the house. It was small, but his wife and kids were here, which made him want to move back in.
But first, he needed the wildcat’s permission.
He sighed softly. It was going to be a tough road.
When An Junxi came out from the shower, she sat across from him, noticing his hand had only a bit of ointment. "Is that enough?"
He said nonchalantly, "Yeah, it’s fine. I’m strong; it’s just a small issue."
She went to the kitchen and told Nanny He, "Rub his hand with the ointment. It won’t work if you don’t rub it in."
Nanny He, in the middle of cooking, replied, "You do it. I’m busy here."
She took a ladle. "I’ll scoop the soup. You go."
Nanny He shooed her away. "You go. The kitchen is my territory. Don’t make a mess. Go on, out."
