Chapter 527: Chapter 527: Aunt Flo Didn’t Visit This Month

An Junxi never thought she would get pregnant that time.

In the middle of the month, her parents returned to Yan City. She went to pick them up with Yi Ke. An Junxi hugged her parents and cried for a long time, blaming them for keeping everything from her, "Do you still consider me your daughter?" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Mr. An, having undergone a surgery once, took everything lightly now. He told his daughter not to cry, saying that he had returned safe and sound.

Mrs. An said, "We still have to go back to Xinan to worship our ancestors. It’s all thanks to their blessings, we must go back and burn incense."

An Junxi, with her nose red, said, "Go back to Xinan again? Don’t think you can fool me again."

Mr. An laughed heartily, "How dare we fool you? Your mom is right. I came back from the brink of death thanks to our ancestors’ blessings, we must go back to pay our respects."

An Junxi suggested they rest for a few days before returning. Mr. An, however, couldn’t wait to go back to his hometown. "During the surgery, I kept thinking, once I recover, I must go back to stay for a few days. That’s our root."

An Junxi couldn’t persuade her father. They brought the children over for a meal together with her parents. After staying at Yuhua Mansion for two days, Mr. and Mrs. An went back to Xinan.

As usual, Yi Ke arranged the car and the bodyguards for them. An Junxi, feeling extra cautious, insisted on video calling her parents after they reached home to ensure they were indeed at home.

Back in his hometown, Mr. An was energetic, wandering around his own farm every day in good spirits, though he missed his two grandkids.

Gu Jinxiu and Gu Aixi often video chatted with the elders. Mrs. An repeatedly said the same things every day, and the two children never got tired of listening, smiling and saying, "We know, we know."

An Junxi continued her routine of going to work. When a new course was launched, the company conducted an online test internally, revealing many problems and loopholes. Aside from technical issues, there were also design flaws in the course itself.

The R&D and IT departments switched to overtime mode. An Junxi, leading the teaching team, was responsible for editing most of the course content. She had high hopes for this new course, and the problems that emerged made her more anxious than anyone else, becoming particularly irritable.

Gong Xiaoyu, more composed than her, comforted her, saying, "It’s always better to discover problems now than after going live and affecting the learners’ experience. Nothing can be perfect at the first go. We just need to keep improving, and it’s not all bad if you think of it that way."

Listening to her senior, An Junxi realized she couldn’t keep being like this and started to slowly adjust herself, trying not to get anxious.

However, her emotional adjustment was ineffective, as she often got angry for no reason.

An Junxi realized her ability to manage her emotions had deteriorated, making her feel even more frustrated and useless, unable to handle even minor issues.

She was never like this before; had she become dumber lately?

Unable to accept this reality, An Junxi volunteered to work overtime at the office, striving to solve all problems quickly so the marketing team could start packaging the new course.

Yi Ke, seeing his wife become busier, working later than him and still reviewing materials at home, felt sorry and advised, "Don’t push yourself too hard at work. Leave the money-making to me."

He wanted her to have a job for some purpose, but if she wore herself out because of it, it would not be worth it.

While studying the materials, An Junxi didn’t want to listen to him, "I’m busy, don’t bother me."

Yi Ke sat by her side, putting his arm around her back and accompanying her in reading together.

An Junxi pushed him away, "Go check on our daughter."

Yi Ke felt hurt. There were times when he was disliked.

"She’s asleep. I won’t disturb you. I’ll just sit here."

Ignoring him, An Junxi focused on her material.

Aunt He brought up a bowl of soup, "Jun Xi, drink the soup and rest early, don’t stay up too late."

"I don’t want to drink." An Junxi glanced at the soup, feeling a wave of nausea. She covered her nose, "Aunt He, please take it away. I really don’t feel like drinking."

Aunt He worried, "How can that be? You didn’t eat much for dinner. How about I leave it here, and you drink it when you have a break?"

Feeling very annoyed, An Junxi threw the materials on the table, "I really don’t want to drink!"

Her outburst scared both Aunt He and Yi Ke.

He touched her forehead gently, "Are there issues at work? Talk to me and see if I can help."

Looking into his worried eyes and seeing Aunt He’s startled expression, An Junxi lowered her head and patted her face, "Sorry, I’ve been too busy at work lately, and I’m in a bad mood."

Understanding, Aunt He said, "Then I won’t disturb you anymore. What about the soup..."

Not wanting to waste Aunt He’s effort, An Junxi took a sip before putting it down, "Aunt He, the soup tastes strange. I don’t want to drink it." The taste made her feel like vomiting.

Aunt He found it odd, "I’ve made this for you before, using the same recipe. You used to say it was delicious!"

An Junxi replied, "Lately, I’ve been feeling irritable and don’t have much appetite. No need to make soup for me from tomorrow."

Aunt He looked at Yi Ke, this doesn’t seem right?

Yi Ke asked Aunt He to take the soup bowl downstairs, then carried her to the bed, "Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. There are so many people in the company; you don’t have to carry all the burden alone. Tell me what ’s going on."

Seeing his patience, An Junxi felt even more powerless. Compared to President Gu, her stress was nothing. Why could he handle such a big corporation with ease, and she felt like collapsing over minor issues?

Feeling deeply affected, An Junxi buried herself into his arms, "I’m such a failure, honey."

Yi Ke reassured her, "Don’t ever think that way. President Gu’s chosen wife must be the best. Who dares to say otherwise about President Gu’s taste?"

An Junxi was amused, "That’s right, no one is pickier than President Gu."

Seeing his wife finally smiling, Yi Ke said, "Go to bed early. There’s always tomorrow for work."

An Junxi wanted to rinse her mouth, "I still have the taste of soup in my mouth." Recently, she lost her appetite for many foods she used to love. Was it really just work stress?

This realization scared An Junxi. She had never been poor in her work performance; she was quick to react and excellent at learning. Nothing could challenge her.

Having intermittently stayed away from work for over a year, was she really unsuitable for societal competition and going to be eliminated?

The more An Junxi thought, the more despondent she felt. She walked into the bathroom to rinse her mouth, suddenly realizing she hadn’t gotten her period this month.

Her period was late again!

Feeling even more downhearted, An Junxi thought even a little stress caused her hormonal imbalance. She really was useless!

After brushing her teeth and washing her face, she climbed over Yi Ke and got into bed.

Yi Ke reached out to hug her; she pushed his hand away, "I’m so annoyed, don’t touch me."

Yi Ke felt both innocent and helpless. How had she become angry again just after he had coaxed her into a good mood?

He attempted to get closer, but An Junxi covered herself with the blanket, "Go to sleep."

She didn’t want to pay any attention to him at all.
