Chapter 201: Chapter 128: Inherited Memories

Unlike Luoning’s ease and joy, after being taken away, Aileen fell into a deep sleep within Mina’s array.

Her inherited memories surged like a tide, rendering her dreams unimaginably fantastical.

In the dream realm, she witnessed ancient scenes where elves had their own territory, nestled in a vast forest in the southern part of the world.

That place was called the Elf Forest, under the divine light of the Goddess of Life. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

At that time, the elves consisted of five tribes, with the Life Tribe housing the most Life Priests, who were also the elves most skilled in Life Magic. Aileen’s ancestors were a combination of the Moonlight Tribe and the Life Tribe.

She seemed to see the inheritance of bloodlines through generations, with each ancestor appearing to say something to her, yet it was vague, and she could only grasp the gist.

Time seemed to accelerate manifold in her eyes, and she witnessed the elves’ rise. In their most glorious era, their words and deeds influenced the entire Xiya Continent.

Elves symbolized nobility, sanctity, beauty, and kindness.

What the elves liked was called art; they cherished music, so did the nobles; they adored beautiful and lavish things, and nobles from other races appreciated these as well.

The elves brought peace and friendliness to the south of the Xiya Continent, living carefree lives, as this land gradually became extraordinarily prosperous, with the flame of civilization growing ever more brilliant.

However, as the elves reached their peak of power, war erupted. The world held four super races: the Beastman under the War God, the Human Race under the God of Light, and the Sea Race under the Sea God.

War among the four races marked the collision of four Gods during the New God Era.

The result of this clash was the elves’ decline; they could only retreat to the Elf Forest, no longer roaming the continent at will.

The Sea Race retreated simply after participating; the immensely irritable Beastmen withdrew, mostly to the deep mountains.

Weaker races, such as the Catman, Dwarf, and goblin, all had to adhere to the rules of the Human Race.

The Human Race began to dominate the Xiya Continent.

The God of Light also grew stronger due to human rulership, seemingly vying with the Lord of Gods.

In her inherited memory, time continued to accelerate indefinitely. Her ancestors in the war seemed to speak to her, but time passed so swiftly that Aileen didn’t have time to respond before the world changed again.

The sky inexplicably transformed into a myriad of colors, resembling dazzling aurora or some world marvel.

Before she could fully see, mighty presences began to fall from the sky onto Xia, even the Divine Kingdom descending.

The Xiya Continent started collapsing; rivers began flowing into the continent, with one Celestial Abyss altering the landscape after another.

The Goddess of Life also fell to the Elf Forest; Her state seemed dire, shrouded in black mist, as if it wasn’t New Gods engaged in the battle above, but Ancient Gods and Evil Gods.

These forces put a significant strain on the God controlling life.

Aileen grew anxious; she wanted to help but could only stand there, worrying in vain, for this was the space of inherited memory, akin to a Dream Realm, yet not quite, and she could not move.

The benevolence of the Goddess of Life, the one who blessed the elves, gradually weakened, yet She seemed to notice Aileen, offering her a forced smile.

"Child... we lost... live well, wait for us to return... protect yourself..."

With utmost gentleness, yet intermittently, the words echoed. Without realizing it, tears had filled Aileen’s eyes as she witnessed the history of the Elf Race, emerging from the forest into the world, only to fall from glory, ultimately reduced to nothing in the Divine War.

The God seemed to reach out to her. Using all her strength, Aileen tried to extend her hand. In her perspective, the distance was closing little by little.

She finally extended her hand; she touched a grand God.

She attempted to support the God, but in the next instant, an absolute force pulled the God into the Celestial Abyss, seemingly a punishment or Curse upon the God.

Unable to prevent it, she only grasped a shred of God’s garment. Amid the immense force, that piece of garment, tinged with black mist, seemed to be the only thing left of the Gods. From that moment on, the world would never again see a New God.

Aileen stood there in a daze, watching as the world of inheritance... collapsed...

Darkness encroached, and Aileen struggled. With the appearance of a crack, a caring and beautiful face came within reach, and warm sunlight from the sky shone upon her, causing her to squint unconsciously.

Once adjusted, the usually boisterous Aileen burst into tears, crying even harder as she held the ever-watchful Mina.

"It’s okay, child, it’s all in the past..."

Mina gently patted Aileen’s back, soothingly whispering, fully aware of what Aileen had gone through, as this inherited memory was something every talented Elf could experience.

Mina knew well what she had endured; the stronger the Talent, the clearer the vision, and the more Energy absorbed, resulting in a more powerful awakening.

Therefore, every prodigy of the Elf Race would understand their origins and glimpse the God unique to them.

As her sobbing subsided into sniffles under Mina’s soft comfort, Aileen lifted her head, her voice trembling: "Te... teacher, just now I saw the God, and He spoke to me, but... I couldn’t reach Him..."

"He was so warm... Will we meet Him again?"

"We will," Mina assured, her tone unwaveringly confident: "We definitely will."
