It was a sudden job offer.

Luna blinked in confusion at the Pizza Demon’s words—at A.

Celine didn’t lower her guard as she stared at A.

“...Could you explain what you mean, exactly?”

A tilted her head slightly, then opened her mouth.

“There was bitterness in the pizza Luna made. Like Bluergh Bio Pizza.”

That was the full extent of A’s explanation.

Celine furrowed her brow even deeper.

A job offer because the pizza was bitter? The logic was completely beyond her.

Then, Ember silently drifted up beside her like a ghost and whispered into her ear.

“I think A wants to hire Luna as a chef.”

“Unnie...”

Ember’s soft tone and Luna’s hopeful eyes finally loosened some of Celine’s tension.

A spoke again.

“I want Luna to make pizza every day. Seoul Dino Park needs a chef.”

It was still baffling, but now Celine could make sense of A’s intent.

The pizza her little sister had made had apparently struck a chord with this mercenary—this so-called Pizza Demon.

Luna clearly felt an intense fondness for A and was desperately hoping her sister would say yes.

Celine hesitated.

Should she take this opportunity?

Normally, she would never accept such a suspicious offer...

But the truth was, she had no idea how they were going to survive from here on.

She’d already lost the job that barely paid anything, and there wasn’t exactly anywhere looking to hire someone like her.

To make matters worse, corporate retaliation could get them both killed at any moment.

Maybe that was why—even though it sounded crazy—this shady but powerful mercenary’s offer looked like a new beginning.

“...Alright. If Luna’s okay with it, then we’ll accept.”

Luna’s face lit up at Celine’s words.

“Really? I—I’d love that!”

She couldn’t hide her excitement and shouted it out loud.

And just like that, the sisters accepted the offer.

A let out a small, satisfied “Heehee” and smiled.

Then she clapped her hands once.

Ssschlup.

Shadows suddenly surged from beneath their feet, swallowing Luna and Celine whole.

“Kyaaa!”

“W-What is this—?!”

Screams rang out as their vision was consumed by darkness.

It felt like they were being sucked into an endless void.

Celine instinctively pulled Luna into her arms.

****

How much time had passed?

The darkness gradually lifted, revealing a completely new landscape.

Luna and Celine quickly realized that they were no longer in the ruined wasteland from just moments ago.

“This place is...”

Celine couldn’t finish her sentence. She looked around in stunned silence.

The first thing she felt was the texture beneath her feet.

Just stepping on it made it clear—it was a carpet of such extravagant softness it almost felt sinful.

Pure white, immaculate. The kind of carpet you’d never dare to step on with the shoes they’d been wearing.

She lifted her gaze, and her eyes were met with warm, ambient lighting.

The walls and ceiling curved in gentle, organic shapes, like the body of some creature, and intricate patterns were engraved into the surface.

The air was astonishingly clean.

Just breathing it in felt like it cleared out her lungs all the way down.

It was incomparable to the smog and grit of the slums.

“Unnie, look over there!”

Luna pointed to one of the walls.

Embedded in it was a massive glass window, and beyond it, an unbelievable sight stretched out.

A void as dark as space itself... and within it, flocks of Triceratops drifting through the air.

It was like something out of a dream—no, something beyond imagination.

“It’s... like magic.”

Luna whispered, completely entranced.

Even Celine couldn’t tell anymore if this was real or just some surreal dream.

Everything around them was crafted from the highest quality materials—stuff they’d never even dared to dream of.

Then, a familiar voice rang out.

“Feeling more grounded now?”

It was Ember.

She’d appeared beside them at some point, smiling gently.

“This is Seoul Dino Park. From now on, this’ll be your new home.”

Ember explained a few things they needed to know as she slowly led the sisters further in.

From the current residents of Seoul Dino Park...

To the little Agu, the Kiwi Bird, and the others.

“First, let me show you where we usually work.”

She brought them to a massive central control room.

Dozens of holographic panels floated in midair, each one displaying a constant flood of complex data and video feeds.

In front of them, Scarlet and Aria were seated at their stations, rapidly working the holographics.

Scarlet noticed the sisters first and raised a hand in greeting.

“Looks like the dust-covered kitchen’s finally gonna see some action. Welcome.”

She grinned, her tone full of teasing.

“Nice to meet you.”

Aria also turned briefly and gave them a polite nod.

After leaving the control room, Ember took Luna and Celine to the eco-park.

As they entered the dome-shaped facility, warm, humid air and a deep scent of greenery washed over them.

“Woooow...”

Luna gasped again.

Before them stretched a lush tropical rainforest, and among the foliage, enormous beasts strolled gracefully.

The same shadow-beasts that had torn the Veritas Correctional Facility to shreds just earlier.

A Triceratops lumbered past on heavy steps, grazing on the thick grass, while a Stegosaurus trudged along, proudly displaying the ridged plates on its back.

Above them, the silhouette of a flying beast cast a wide shadow across the ground.

At first, Luna flinched and hid behind Celine, startled—but her curiosity soon got the better of her. She crept forward, step by step, toward the beasts.

The nearest Triceratops noticed Luna and slowly lowered its massive head.

Luna hesitated, then nervously reached out her little hand to stroke the creature’s frill.

Its shadow-forged skin was unexpectedly warm and soft.

The Triceratops narrowed its eyes contentedly and leaned into her touch.

“So cute...”

Luna murmured without even realizing it.

Celine watched her little sister with a warm expression.

Ember smiled at the two of them.

“These beasts... they’re basically our friends now. Don’t worry, they’re safe to play with.”

Beyond the eco-park, their next destination was what once must’ve been a lively amusement park—filled with laughter and joy.

But for now, maybe because there were so few people, a faint sense of loneliness lingered in the air.

Countless rides sat still, collecting dust, and only a single rollercoaster was speeding along the rails.

“That one...”

Celine pointed at the rollercoaster.

In the very front seat of the rapidly moving ride, a familiar silhouette came into view.

White hair whipping wildly in the wind. A black coat flapping behind her.

It was A—the master of Seoul Dino Park. The one who had hired Luna.

A was slumped loosely in her seat, every muscle relaxed, as she rode the rollercoaster.

Her arms flailed limply in the air, caught between inertia and the wind.

Ember glanced at her and shrugged.

“As you can see, feel free to use the amusement park whenever you like. A’s pretty much the only one using it these days...”

Finally, Ember brought Luna and Celine to the place where they would be working: the restaurant.

The moment the door opened, Luna’s eyes widened.

“Oh my god...”

It was bigger and cleaner than any kitchen she had ever seen.

No—“kitchen” didn’t even begin to describe it. It was massive, more like the hall of a luxury restaurant.

The entire kitchen was packed wall-to-wall with top-of-the-line cooking equipment, without a single gap in layout.

The wall-sized refrigerators were fully stocked with every kind of fresh ingredient imaginable.

Ingredients so rare you wouldn’t even get to see them outside Babel’s outer zones.

In the spacious hall, elegant tables and chairs were neatly arranged. Outside the windows, Triceratops still floated through the void.

Luna looked around at the state-of-the-art setup with an expression that said she was too intimidated to even touch anything.

Celine, too, seemed overwhelmed by the sheer scale of it all and couldn’t find the words.

They were still taking in the kitchen in stunned silence when—

A loud voice boomed from the hall.

“Pizza!”

[Pizza!]

They turned their heads toward the voice.

A was seated at a table with The Child.

A held a fork and knife in each hand, and next to her, the golden-colored Child was banging the table with spoon and fork in unison.

And next to the golden Child, a pair of spoon and fork floated in midair, clinking against nothing.

That must be the other one... the one they said fuses...?

Luna thought that to herself and smiled unconsciously.

They looked just like hungry baby birds chirping at their mother for food.

The tension and fear from earlier vanished like fog under sunlight.

She rolled up her sleeves and shouted toward A with a determined look.

“Yes! I’ll start the pizza right now!”

Luna’s eyes sparkled with passion.

It wasn’t long before the restaurant was filled with the sharp, bitter scent that had captivated A in the first place.

The pizza Luna made was absurdly massive.

Enough to feed everyone in Seoul Dino Park—and still have leftovers.

The perfectly browned crust was topped with fresh tomato sauce, the highest-grade cheese, and every kind of topping imaginable, all without restraint.

When the pizza was placed in the center of the round table, the people who’d been waiting began to gather, one by one.

Naturally, the first to rush over were A and the two children.

They were soon joined by Scarlet and Aria, having just wrapped up their work in the central control room.

Not long after, Victor, Iris, and Daniel returned from their shopping trip in Eastern Babel and entered the restaurant.

Everyone’s faces were glowing with anticipation.

Seated around the table, they each reached out for a slice of pizza.

And so, with laughter bursting all around, a joyful mealtime began at Seoul Dino Park.
