Shadow Husband:I Have a Hidden SSS-Class System-Chapter 66: ATTENTION & JEALOUSY
Rama woke to his phone buzzing incessantly.
6:47 AM. Fifty-three unread messages. Twenty-two missed calls. Twelve friend requests on social media he barely used.
"What the hell?" he muttered, scrolling through notifications.
Half were from guild members. Quarter were from unknown numbers. The rest were media outlets requesting interviews.
Unknown: Hi! I’m a reporter from Jakarta Post. Would love to interview the Champion who led the perfect clear!
Unknown: This is Channel 7 News. We’d like to feature you on our morning show.
Unknown: Kompas TV here. Indonesia’s first System Champion—can we schedule a segment?
Beside him, Sekar stirred. "What’s wrong?"
"Media found out. About yesterday’s clear. They want interviews."
She sat up, checking her own phone. "Oh. That’s... a lot of attention."
"How did they even get my number?"
"Guild registry is semi-public for ranked hunters. You’re officially registered as Level 50 Champion now. That information is accessible to verified media." She scrolled through her own messages. "I have forty-three interview requests. They want to talk about ’the power couple,’ ’the Guild Master and her Champion husband,’ that sort of thing."
"Do we have to respond?"
"Ignore them. Guild PR will handle media relations. You focus on champion trial preparations." She paused, reading something. "Although... you might want to check social media."
"Why?"
"Because you’re trending. Number three nationally. #SystemChampion."
Rama opened the trending topics. Sure enough—#SystemChampion, #PerfectClear, #RamaKusuma were all trending.
Articles. Fan posts. Screenshots from the guild’s public clear announcement. Analysis videos breaking down the achievement.
And photos. Lots of photos.
Most were from yesterday’s celebration. Rama coordinating the team. Rama being congratulated. Rama standing with the raid group.
But some were... different.
Fan edits. Aesthetic compilations. "Champion Rama appreciation posts."
"Oh god," he said, staring at one particularly dramatic edit that made him look like an anime protagonist with glowing effects and inspirational quotes overlaid.
"At least you look good in them," Sekar said, looking over his shoulder. Then her expression shifted. "Wait. Scroll back up."
He scrolled. She pointed at a post.
@HunterFanGirl: Champion Rama is so cool! 😍 The way he coordinated that perfect clear! #SystemChampion #HusbandMaterial
"Husband material," Sekar read flatly. "She called you husband material."
"I am a husband. Your husband."
"She doesn’t know that. Look at the replies."
He scrolled through replies.
@DewiFan23: Right?? And he’s so patient explaining things! Total catch!
@GuildWatcher: Eternal Bond is so lucky to have him. Wonder if he’s single? 🤔
@SriSupporter: I heard he’s married to the Guild Master! Power couple goals!
@HunterGossip: Married or not, we can still appreciate the view 👀
Sekar’s grip on the phone tightened. "Appreciate the view. They’re appreciating the view."
"It’s just social media. People say things."
"They’re objectifying my husband on social media."
"Our relationship is public record. They know I’m married."
"And they don’t care." She scrolled more, expression darkening. "Look at this hashtag. #RamaxDewi. They’re shipping you with Dewi."
"What? Why Dewi?"
"Because there’s a photo from yesterday’s celebration where she’s talking to you. Someone decided that means chemistry and now there’s a ship tag." She showed him the post—an edited photo of him and Dewi talking, with heart effects and romantic music suggestions.
"That’s... that’s just a conversation about trial preparations."
"I know that. You know that. But three hundred people have reblogged it with comments like ’they’d be so cute together’ and ’better chemistry than boring old married couples.’"
Rama looked at her carefully. "Sekar. Are you—"
"I’m not jealous."
"You’re gripping my phone hard enough to crack the screen."
She released it immediately. "I’m not jealous. I’m just... observing that social media has created shipping content between my husband and a twenty-three-year-old volunteer. That’s not jealousy. That’s statement of fact."
"Statement of fact delivered while glaring at Dewi’s photo like you want to set it on fire."
"I don’t—" She stopped herself. "Okay. Maybe I’m a little bothered. But only because it’s disrespectful. We’re married. Creating ship content with other women is disrespectful to our relationship."
"Agreed. But also unavoidable. Fame attracts this kind of attention."
"I don’t like it."
"Neither do I. But we can ignore it." He took back his phone, closing the app. "Social media doesn’t matter. What matters is trial preparations, void defense, actually important things."
"Right. Important things." Sekar stood, heading toward the bathroom. "Not random fans shipping you with guild members. That’s not important at all."
Her tone said it absolutely was important, but Rama decided not to push it.
Yandere tendencies emerging strong, he noted. Better than Timeline 1 where she grieved herself into depression after I died. But need to manage this carefully.
The guild headquarters was buzzing when they arrived at 8 AM.
Word of the perfect clear had spread beyond the guild. Hunters from other organizations, media representatives (despite guild security), and curious civilians crowded the entrance.
"Champion Rama! Can you confirm the zero-death clear?"
"Is it true you can see the future?"
"Will you coordinate raids for other guilds?"
"Are you taking on students?"
Security held them back, but the attention was overwhelming.
Inside, it wasn’t much better.
Guild members swarmed Rama the moment he entered the main hall.
"Rama! Can you review my combat form?"
"I have a dungeon run tomorrow—can you coordinate?"
"Will you demonstrate Champion abilities in training?"
"Can we schedule a one-on-one session?"
That last request came from a female B-rank hunter Rama didn’t recognize. She smiled hopefully, standing a bit too close.
"I’m preparing for champion trials. Personal guidance from you would be invaluable."
Sekar materialized beside Rama like a protective shadow. "Champion trial preparation will be conducted in group sessions. Rama’s coordinating forty volunteers simultaneously. Much more efficient than individual training."
"Oh. Right. Of course." The hunter looked slightly intimidated by Sekar’s sudden appearance and sharp tone. "Group sessions. That makes sense."
"It does," Sekar agreed, still smiling but with an edge that suggested the conversation was over.
The hunter retreated.
Rama glanced at Sekar. "You appeared out of nowhere."
"I’ve been here the whole time."
"You materialized like a territorial ghost the moment she asked for individual training."
"I was simply clarifying training protocols. As Guild Master. That’s my job."
"Uh-huh."
"Don’t ’uh-huh’ me."
Sri approached, saving Rama from responding. "Guild Master, Champion. We have a situation."
"What kind of situation?" Sekar asked.
"Dragon’s Gate Guild sent a formal communication. They’re requesting a meeting with Rama. Professional consultation, they claim. Offering compensation for his time."
Sekar’s expression went ice cold. "Absolutely not."
"They’ve offered quite generous compensation. And they claim it’s just consultation about System mechanics, not recruitment."
"I said no."
"Guild Master, we should at least consider—"
"Sri. Did you hear me say no?"
"I did, but—"
"Then the answer is no. Rama is Eternal Bond’s strategic asset. He’s not available for consultation with rival guilds. Not Dragon’s Gate. Not anyone. Send a formal rejection."
Sri hesitated, then nodded. "Understood. I’ll draft the response."
After she left, Rama looked at Sekar. "You were pretty firm there."
"Dragon’s Gate is our primary rival. They’ve been trying to poach our top hunters for months. Now they want our Champion? Not happening."
"Even for consultation?"
"Especially for consultation. They’d use it as recruitment opportunity. Get you in a room, make offers, try to steal you." Her eyes narrowed. "You’re not going."
"I wasn’t planning to."
"Good. Because you’re mine—ours. Eternal Bond’s. Not Dragon’s Gate’s."
There it was again. The slip between ’mine’ and ’ours.’
Before Rama could comment, Dewi approached with three other young female hunters.
"Rama! Do you have a minute?"
Sekar’s hand found Rama’s arm immediately. Possessive. Territorial.
"What do you need?" Rama asked.
"We’re preparing for trials. Wondering if you could demonstrate some Champion abilities? Like the perception that let you predict attacks? Maybe show us how it works?"
"I can do a demonstration during group training. Later this week."
"Could we maybe schedule something sooner? Private session, just us four?" She gestured to her companions. "We’re really serious about trials and want every advantage."
"Group sessions only," Sekar interjected before Rama could respond. "No private training. Too many volunteers for individual attention. Everyone gets equal preparation in group settings."
"Oh. Okay." Dewi looked disappointed. "Group sessions then."
"Group sessions," Sekar confirmed firmly.
The four hunters retreated. One of them whispered something to Dewi that made her glance back at Rama and giggle.
Sekar’s grip on his arm tightened.
"Sekar."
"What?"
"You’re cutting off circulation."
She released immediately. "Sorry. I just—they were giggling. About you. Like you’re some celebrity crush instead of a married man."
"They probably find the Champion thing impressive. It’s not personal."
"It looked personal."
"You’re reading into things."
"Am I? Because that’s the third group today asking for private sessions. All female. All looking at you with that... that look."
"What look?"
"The admiration look. The ’he’s so cool’ look. The look that doesn’t care you’re married because they’re just fans and fans don’t respect boundaries."
Rama pulled her aside into a quieter corridor. "Hey. Look at me."
She did, expression frustrated and vulnerable.
"I’m your husband. That comes first. Before Champion, before guild, before fame, before anything. You know that, right?"
"I know. Logically, I know. But watching everyone want your attention, seeing girls giggle about you, reading social media shipping you with others—" She cut herself off. "I sound crazy."
"You sound like someone who loves her husband and doesn’t appreciate others disrespecting that. Which is normal."
"Is it? Because it feels possessive and irrational."
"Little bit of both. But I don’t mind." He took her hands. "You can be possessive. You earned it. You married me when I was E-rank and everyone thought I was useless. Now everyone wants what you had faith in from the beginning. You’re allowed to be territorial."
"I don’t want to be the jealous wife."
"You’re not jealous. You’re protective. There’s a difference. Jealousy is insecurity. Protection is defending something valuable." He squeezed her hands. "I’m valuable to you. You’re protecting that. I’m not going anywhere. No amount of attention changes my commitment."
She relaxed slightly. "Promise?"
"Promise. You’re stuck with me. Forever. No matter how many people giggle or ask for private sessions or create ship tags."
"I hate those ship tags."
"I know. They’re stupid. But also irrelevant. What matters is us. Our relationship. Our commitment. The rest is just noise."
"Noise that won’t stop. You’re famous now. This attention isn’t going away."
"Probably not. But my commitment to you won’t change either. Fame doesn’t matter. Social media doesn’t matter. Giggling admirers don’t matter. You matter."
Sekar leaned against him. "Thank you. For understanding. For not making me feel crazy for being bothered."
"You’re not crazy. You’re human. And I love you. Possessive tendencies and all."
"I’m working on it."
"Don’t work too hard. I kind of like protective Sekar."
"Even when she’s being territorial?"
"Especially when she’s being territorial. Shows you care."
She smiled despite herself. "You’re the only person who’d find yandere behavior endearing."
"I find your yandere behavior endearing. Coming from anyone else it’d be concerning."
"Good. Because I’m not planning to share you. At all. Ever."
"Noted. Your husband is exclusively yours. All others will be firmly reminded of this fact."
"Good."
They stood together in the quiet corridor for a moment, away from the crowds and attention and chaos.
Then Rama’s phone buzzed. Text from Yanto.
Yanto: Saw the social media explosion. You’re trending. Also, five more guilds contacted the Network asking about you. Word is out. Everyone wants the System Champion.
Rama showed Sekar. She read it and sighed.
"This is just the beginning, isn’t it? The attention. The recruitment attempts. The fame."
"Probably. But we handle it together. Like everything else."
"Together," she agreed. "With me being very clear about territorial boundaries."
"Very clear. I support this completely."
"Good. Because I’m about to send guild-wide memo establishing that you’re Eternal Bond exclusive. No outside contracts. No consultations. No guest appearances. No collaborations."
"Is that necessary?"
"Absolutely. Before Dragon’s Gate or anyone else gets ideas." Her expression shifted to Guild Master mode. "You’re our strategic asset. Our Champion. Our void defense coordinator. And mine. That needs to be crystal clear to everyone."
"Yours," Rama agreed. "Always yours."
"Damn right."
They returned to the main hall together, Sekar staying close, marking territory subtly but unmistakably.
The attention continued. The requests didn’t stop. The social media explosion grew.
But through it all, one thing remained constant:
Sekar Aditya’s absolute, unwavering, possessive claim on Rama Kusuma.
And Rama, who’d watched her grieve his death in another timeline, who knew how much losing him had destroyed her—
He welcomed every bit of that possessiveness.
Because possessive Sekar meant loving Sekar. Protective Sekar. Sekar who cared enough to be territorial.
And that was worth any amount of jealousy.
Even if it meant dealing with death glares directed at giggling admirers.
Especially because it meant Sekar loved him enough to be protective.
The fame would pass. The social media frenzy would fade. The attention would normalize.
But Sekar’s claim on him?
That was permanent.
Just as he preferred it.
