Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth-Chapter 267: Have you thought about me over these years?
Chapter 267: Chapter 267: Have you thought about me over these years?
Su Wanxin tried hard to recall the details of the car accident, but her headache persisted, fruitless, so she gave up.
She continued to remain silent until the car arrived at her residence.
The two of them went upstairs. Su Wanxin pressed the passcode and pushed open the door. The house was eerily quiet.
It seemed like Mu Suyu wasn’t around, who knows where she went. Fu Shihan followed her into the house. Seeing her heading to sit on the sofa, he grabbed her hand and pulled her upstairs into the bedroom.
"Go lie down."
"I’ve been lying down for half a month already."
"It’s different."
Su Wanxin raised an eyebrow, unaware of what was so different. She lay back on the bed and looked at Fu Shihan. After a moment’s thought, she said, "Go fetch Yangyang over, I’ll soothe him."
"You haven’t seen me for half a month either, don’t you think of soothing me first?" Fu Shihan slightly frowned, picking a bone.
"A son is a son."
"And I’m not a true husband?"
"..."
Su Wanxin was at a loss for words, and Fu Shihan, with a somber gaze, pushed her down, climbed onto the bed beside her, and pulled her into an embrace.
"I’ll go see Grandpa later and have him apologize to you."
He held her and spoke in a muffled voice. After hearing this, Su Wanxin looked up in panic. "Don’t provoke him."
"He provoked me first."
The one person he wouldn’t bare to lay a finger on, yet Grandpa didn’t show the slightest mercy. If it had been any later that they found Su Wanxin on that day, Fu Shihan couldn’t guarantee whether Li Xuanqing would have really broken her legs.
Grandpa had always been ruthless. Ever since Li Mo’s car accident left him unable to recover completely, his temper became even more violent than before.
Fu Shihan knew that for these past few years, he had been searching for Su Wanxin and was afraid Grandpa would find her before he did, so he had been keeping a close watch on Grandpa’s actions.
But, to think, despite all the caution, a single slip.
"I won’t let him take you away again." Fu Shihan whispered reassuringly, and Su Wanxin’s emotions choked in her chest.
"Is it worth it, to fall out with your family over me?"
"Of course, it’s worth it." He replied without hesitation, as if he feared she wouldn’t understand his stance, his voice carrying a sense of urgency.
Su Wanxin rested her forehead against his chest, feeling his concern. She knew he was worried about growing estranged from her because of the incident with Li Xuanqing.
To be honest, her body really hurt. It still felt as though her bones were falling apart, aching with every movement.
To say that she didn’t feel wronged would be a lie. But if she claimed she could justifiably resent Li Xuanqing, that too would be a lie.
Li Mo was his biological daughter, the daughter he loved most. But to Li Xuanqing, she was an outsider with no blood relation.
After all the clues and evidence pointed towards her, indicating that she was the main culprit of the car accident, it was understandable for Li Xuanqing to seek revenge from her.
Even if Su Wanxin wanted to claim innocence, she would need evidence to do so. But the truth was, she had none, nothing at all, she was utterly indefensible.
"Brother Han."
She suddenly called out his name softly, causing Fu Shihan’s body to flinch.
"Have you ever thought, what if it was really me who did it?"
Fu Shihan didn’t reply, but shook his head as he held her.
He hadn’t.
If he had any doubts, he wouldn’t have tied them together with a marriage contract before all the truth had come to light.
"Tell me, have you forgotten something, just like mom did?"
He looked down at her and asked softly.
The kind of question she asked him in the car couldn’t have been without reason.
"You remember stepping on the gas but don’t remember why you did it, right?"
Su Wanxin: "..."
"Let me ask a different question." Fu Shihan sighed and tightened his arms around her. "Have you thought about me over these years?"
