Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth-Chapter 344: On my birthday, I want you to be with me.
Chapter 344: Chapter 344: On my birthday, I want you to be with me.
She only drank two glasses of red wine tonight, still haunted by the last incident at the bar, so she remains sober.
"Time is getting late, I should head back."
She put down her wine glass, really intending to leave. But some people are relentless, and she feels irritable.
"Wait for me in the parking lot."
Fu Shihan whispers softly, but Su Wanxin refuses: "I don’t need you to drive me."
"I need you to drive." Fu Shihan insists righteously. "I drank a bit too much today, it’s not safe for me to drive."
"..."
"Having accompanied me all night, what’s wrong with doing this one last thing?"
Su Wanxin thinks it over and agrees. Plus, he did seem to have drunk quite a lot tonight; she can’t let him drive.
So she nods her head, turns around, and heads to the parking lot first. After waiting for over half an hour in the car, Fu Shihan finally shows up.
He opens the car door and sits in the passenger seat, reeking of alcohol.
Su Wanxin frowns deeply. When she left, he wasn’t this drunk—how much did he drink in just half an hour?
Seeing her confused, Fu Shihan explains: "Lu Ci came."
"No wonder."
Only a few bastards could get him drunk like this.
Su Wanxin doesn’t say anything further and starts the car to drive Fu Shihan home.
He remains quiet all the way, eyes closed, asleep.
Su Wanxin drives slowly, taking more than an hour to reach his house. Once she parks the car steadily, she looks at the still-sleeping man and hesitates before deciding to wake him up.
Fu Shihan can be grumpy when woken up, and he’s always guarded even in sleep. So when Su Wanxin’s wrist is tightly grasped, causing her pain sharp enough to make her gasp, she is already mentally prepared.
Fu Shihan briefly snaps out of it, the sharpness in his eyes quickly fading. He pulls Su Wanxin close, frowning as he rubs her wrist, softly asking, "Did that hurt?"
"No, it doesn’t hurt."
"Little liar."
Fu Shihan gently kisses her reddened wrist, feeling guilty.
She was delicate and particularly fear pain since childhood, always insisting it didn’t hurt. Despite enduring many hurts now, she still claims they don’t.
His voice is low in her ear, Su Wanxin sensitively turns her head away, trying to escape, but he pulls her back into his embrace.
"I should go home."
"My birthday is coming soon."
Both speak at the same time, but their words are entirely different. Su Wanxin stiffens slightly, listening as he repeats softly.
"Wanwan, my birthday is coming soon."
He lightly nibbles on her ear, reminding her of this important matter.
"Prepare a gift for me."
Su Wanxin’s throat feels bitter; she murmurs an acknowledgment, asking, "What do you want?"
"You."
A simple word, yet it’s what he most desperately desires.
"On my birthday, I want you."
Su Wanxin initially intends to refuse but then thinks that she’ll be leaving after his birthday. After a moment of silence, she nods and agrees.
Fu Shihan subtly frowns, a brief flash of joy in his eyes quickly overshadowed by the ensuing gloom.
Normally, she wouldn’t agree.
Be it a birthday or any other holiday, she would refuse such requests. Even if she were to fulfill them, she would still protest verbally.
Agony pierces his heart, as he firmly holds her in his embrace.
It takes a long time before he eventually eases up, his gaze deep as he looks into her eyes.
"Are you afraid because of the matter with Grandpa and Grandpa?"
