She didn't seem too happy about Sylvia's proposal, knowing that Sylvia wasn't dumb enough to throw herself in a hopeless match. And she also knew Sylvia wasn't going to back down once she'd made up her mind.

There had to be a catch somewhere, but she couldn't figure it out.

And now, if she decided to give up, it would seem like she was backing down from something she started.

"Fine, I accept," she finally said.

She turned to the Keeper, who stood next to them.

And the keeper nodded. "Do you wish to begin now, or another time?" the keeper asked.

All eyes turned to Sylvia.

"It's your proposal. What's your decision?"

"Now. Time to prepare is not necessary," Sylvia replied without hesitation.

The Keeper sighed. "Very well." After stepping forward, the keeper raised a hand and announced. "The match is over, and Dragon Emperor Academy has won!"

"What?"

"How?"

"They didn't even fight!"

"I saw Nothing?"

Everyone was confused.

The only people who weren't surprised at all were Lynnnor and Sylvia, who remained calm.

"Lynnor!" A tutor from F.P. shouted. They couldn't accept constant defeat like that.

Lynnor turned to him lazily. "Mm?"

"What is the meaning of this?" he asked.

Lynnor raised a hand to him. "Just wait and see."

Sylvia stepped forward. "Why do you say we lost?" She asked the keeper calmly.

The keeper looked at her with a look of tiredness.

"You just arrived and haven't confirmed your name in the registry. We can't allow you to fight, which is the same as you forfeiting."

"Forsaken Peak has substitutes," Sylvia said. "You didn't ask about that."

And while everyone else was confused about the sudden announcement of F.P.'s defeat, Sylvia explained things to the Keeper, who agreed to the participation of a substitute.

The Keeper announced again. "The win has been withdrawn, and the match will begin again with Forsaken Peak's substitute."

"What?"

"That's odd."

Aramith frowned. He suspected something like this would happen.

Sylvia looked into her sister's eyes and smiled faintly. "You wanted to meet him so bad, right? Well, my boss will fight for me."

Boss? No one from that group is worth it.

Sylvia stepped aside

Murmurs rippled through the stands.

"Her boss?"

"She's joking."

"No one from Forsaken Peak would—"

"Therin from Forsaken Peak, please step forward."

All eyes turned to Forsaken Peak.

And then Aramith moved.

The students and teachers of FP couldn't believe it.

The newcomer was standing in for another newcomer to fight for their dignity.

Were they insane

Mozrael wasn't worried about Aramith, but she tapped his hand. "Don't push yourself too much, and try not to use your attribute. Lots of people are watching."

And with everyone watching him, he stepped up and descended to the battleground. But a tutor grabbed his hand.

"Do you have any idea what you're going in for? That Lynnor is heartless and doesn't care about anyone. Even he," the teacher pointed at the first student who'd lost bitterly, "couldn't win. How much more—"

"Don't grab me like that," Aramith said coldly.

There was an edge to the way he glared at the teacher that made him let go.

Aramith didn't even look at the others as he made his way to the front.

"I'll fight," he said. Hee keeper looked at Dragon Emperor Academy. "You may continue, or as compensation for the earlier confusion, you may use a substitute.

But everyone's eyes were on Aramith. He didn't have any powerful presence, but he seemed very confident, which unnerved them.

They had no idea how dangerous this boy they all underestimated was, or the fact that he was only stepping forward to test himself.

"Rynelle!" Sylvia shouted.

Her sister turned to her.

"Will you fight, or will you let someone else do it for you?" Sylvia asked, as if trying to provoke her.

Rynelle rolled her eyes and turned to Aramith. Something about the way Aramith calmly stared at her made her wary.

Se looked at her sister's confident look and was about to accept when a voice from within the ranks of Dragon Emperor Academy broke the silence.

This one was tall and had more resemblance to Rynelle.

"IF she'll let a substitute fight in her place, then I'll fight in place of my sister as well," he said as he walked forward.

Everyone recognized him, and with his recognition, Rynell and Sylvia's as well.

"Isn't that Eryndor Drakemire?"

"Wait, that's true. So if that's him, then that means..."

"No way. How come we never recognized them?"

"Don't ask me, it's also my first time seeing them."

As they came to realize this, they looked at Aramith in a new light.

Didn't Sylvia call him boss?

And if he's her boss, then who is he?

Rynelle wanted to say something, but a glare from Eryndor made her go mute.

"You already lost all composure a while ago. Don't think you can keep your cool in this matter," he said as he brushed past her to stand opposite Aramith.

The keeper nodded.

"Does anyone object to the representatives chosen for this duel?"

After a moment of silence, the keeper stepped back.

"All non-participants, step aside."

...

...

"I'm starting to think of capturing one of their teachers," Elira said to Serephene.

Sitting on a skeletal horse, Serephene glanced at Elira lazily.

"I just said, get me someone important from their group. It doesn't matter if it's a student or a teacher."

She raised her head toward the arena.

Lots of people were converging there.

"What is that for?" She asked, stopping.

Elira smiled. "Your targets found themselves in trouble with Dragon Emperor Academy. They're having a duel to settle their differences," she laughed.

Serephene raised a hand, and the skeletal horse turned to bone dust that joined into her clothes.

She turned to the arena. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂

"Let's go there."

...

...

"I don't know what makes you think a miserable runt from a nobody academy could qualify as your boss, but it is beyond insulting to our family," Eryndor said without even sparing his sister a glance.

"I'll teach him a lesson, then you'll be next, so sit and wait."
