Shattering Humanity-Chapter 468: "...The Best Way To Preserve Humanity..."
"Indeed, Allah is the One Who causes seeds and fruit stones to sprout. He brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. That is Allah! How can you then be deluded from the truth?
He causes the dawn to break, and has made the night for rest and made the sun and the moon to travel with precision. That is the design of the Almighty, All-Knowing.
And He is the One Who has made the stars as your guide through the darkness of land and sea. We have already made the signs clear for people who know." -Al An’am 6:95-98

{26 Months After Leviathan’s Invasion}
[Future Demon District]
For the past two years and three months, SeiõrSnow has fallen all over the world.
Underneath the clear, half moon lit night sky, a flake of the mysterious energy lands on a slightly younger Scylia’s nose.
On top of the flat roof to a two floor home, within the same suburban neighborhood she would try to confront a DæMon in.
Arms behind her head, with both her yellow eyes looking up at the colorless speckled stars, combined with the steadily falling, colorless speckled snow.
For the moment, only crickets and a lone owl calling from their roost can be heard.
However, at this point in time, the Icemen population is still at large.
Having learned where humans prefer hiding, the surprisingly adaptive aliens are easily breaking down the doors and windows to all the homes in search of any hidden prey.
Having adapted to their predator as well, the human older sister on the roof is unrattled by the sounds of multiple prowling beasts around her breaking down the homes throughout the street.
Scylia(softly): "Those freaking things never sleep.
Either that, or they work in shifts, because they’ve already been through this area countless times."
She looks over to her sleeping little brother.
The signs of a freshly extinguished small fire between them and empty cans with metal forks left inside.
Scylia(softly): "If we continue North, we’ll reach Roronora, hopefully it isn’t a ghost city like Son Goku ended up being."
In his deep sleep, while the multiple layers of home invasion happens around him, the exhausted Char stays asleep in the situation that would wake anyone else up.
Scylia(softly): "I know running away from these things everyday is a lot on you, Charybdis, but someday, we’ll find safety together. Even if we have to cross the ocean like we did with Mom and Dad."
A troubled looks washes over the equally tuckered out keeper as her eyelids start to feel heavier.
Scylia: "Our bonds are forever, Char.
We’ll find our beautifully poetical ending..."
Feeling like an instant, as soon as her eyelids close into darkness, familiar threatening vibrations make her yellow eyes shoot open. The dark, star filled sky has been switched with bright, scattered clouds.
...
Scylia: "Come on, Char!"
Running along the Main Street to the small town, both symbiote-less Scylia and Charybdis, are running from a gang of 4 Icemen.
After jumping over a wooden fence together, the slightly more naive Char looks back and is horrified as he watches the chasing monsters simply run through the useless barricade.
A few steps ahead, the yellow eyes of the older sister is frantically darting around, trying to locate a possible escape.
As they sprint underneath a gas station canopy, Char trips over a cable once used to alarm the store attendant that there is a customer.
*DI-DING!*
Char: "Ahhh!"
The sweating sister turns back in terror, fearing the worst, and not thinking clearly, she jumps over her younger brother in an attempt to protect him.
*Chi-Ching*
The bell attached to the gas station door rings as someone walks out, unsheathing their SunSwords.
Just as the ice aliens are closing in, the stranger stands in front of the helpless siblings, and Scylia looks up as the sun shines behind Daisuki’s head.
The man with duo wielding weapons approaches the Icemen, side dodges the initial swipe, and cuts its arm off.
He then spin dodges the lunging fangs of a 2nd alien assailant, into beheaded the 1st.
Once the Iceman’s head hits the ground, a blood red cloud leaves the slain creature.
Both Char and Scylia are still on the ground, watching in amazement at the movement of their savior.
With now only three hostile enemies remaining, the soon to be Squad 40 Mentor proves his earning of the future title by quickly sheathing his right handed SunSword. Then using his symbiote aided strength, he blocks an incoming Iceman swipe by connecting forearms with smaller variant, but still much larger than the human male, and finally with his left handed SunSword, beheading the caught off guard beast.
A red cloud escapes from the neck of the ice creature, just like the first.
The back two in the group have clearly ignored the harder option and are going for the cowering two piece meal.
Realizing this just in time, Daisuki manages to kick the barely standing, headless 2nd Iceman into one of the monsters and unsheathes his right handed SunSword in a clean throw from the hip towards the last.
It manages to hit the attacking creature in the chest, about 5 yards away from the two younger humans.
The force of the throw knocks the Iceman on its face, giving enough time for Daisuki to jump on its back, and use his more effective AIG blade to cut the defeated invader’s head off. Releasing the blood red inner cloud.
He sheathes the SunSword that was cooling in his victim and has returned once more where he started from the defensive standoff.
As the one remaining Iceman finally manages to get the body of a defeated ally off of it, the creature is less ambitious in hunting, but still creeps towards the possible prey.
In his right hand, Daisuki holds out the SunSword with still more than half of its effective charge.
Daisuki: "If you want to protect one another, you had better start now."
Unable to get up before his sister, Scylia comedically pushes Charybdis’ face into the ground as she rushed to her feet, and takes the weapon.
Realizing the prey is attempting to fight back, the sole Iceman charges back at her.
From the alien’s POV, the incoming red haired woman slashes the conscious existence into darkness.
...
Charybdis: "Scylia!?
What happened to her?!"
Underneath the yellow and green gas station canopy, the concerned younger brother is kneeling, holding his now unconscious sister.
Next to them, the detached Iceman head has also been slashed in half, with an empty eye hole indicating the symbiote transfer was successful.
Retrieving his loaned and dropped SunSword as the flame design indicating the effectiveness dies out.
He returns the cold blade back in his HeatHolster and the reunited AIG can be heard reheating inside.
With his own heterospecies eyes, the man who stepped up and saved the combo tries to calm down the hysterically panicking brother.
Daisuki: "Hey-Hey relax man.
I know it was me who instigated the altercation with it, but if there’s no ice spreading from her eye by now, she’s going to be fine."
Char looks up at the man and tries to figure out what happened to his sister.
Char: "What’s happened to my sister?
She beat that thing and then she just collapsed!"
He finally realizes the man who helped them has a weird looking right eye.
Daisuki: "She’s contracted an abnormal eye. When she beheaded that Iceman, she got too close to her defeated enemy’s head, and you may not have been able to see it, but something flew into your sister’s face.
Now..."
He crouches over and opens the knocked out Scylia’s right eye lids to shock Char.
Daisuki: "... She’ll have the ability to protect you a lot easier."
Ruining the chance for rest and clarity, the subtle vibrations under them makes the blue haired young man, and the man who slayed a group of smaller Icemen, sweat knowing what the growing shakes in the ground mean.
Daisuki: "We have to go.
I’ll carry your-"
Comfortably having his piggybacked sibling slumped over his back, Charybdis surprises Daisuki with his leg strength, even without a symbiote eye.
Daisuki: "Damn...okay.
We gotta head southwest, fast."
Char: "Wait, Scylia said we had to head North for Roronora City!"
Another rumbling, this time stronger.
Sleeping Scylia can be heard mumbling over her ride’s shoulder.
Scylia(mumbles): "run...Char..."
Daisuki: "I’ve already started building a secluded place for survivors on this island.
There are a lot of people who see this apocalypse as a way to gain power over the weak, but I want the weak to get stronger."
Another quick quake doesn’t give the desperate brother any other chance to think and he nods, following his new leader.
...
With a whole day gone by, the sun setting over the city soon to be known as Outer Sanpaku.
SeiõrSnow falls around the group who has reached the entrance to an underground tunnel.
Daisuki: "Because of the current leadership inside the Sister Mountains, I have decided to stop bringing the people I save back there.
Unfortunately, that is frowned upon by said leadership, and seen by them as a sign of insurrection towards destroying the preservation of humanity."
Scylia finally comes to, her unknown new PoV she blinks and resting her chin on her brother’s shoulder, the view of Daisuki with the setting orange sun over his head looks like a coincidental halo.
Daisuki: "But the best way to preserve humanity isn’t to coddle, cower, or hide the meek from the world’s dangers, but to face them head on and get stronger, together."
