She Holds the World After Being Reborn-Chapter 580 - 579: Want to Hug, Want to Kiss
"Esteemed guest, please do not engage in violence at Taste Manor, as others are dining here. We can discuss this matter calmly," the servant pleaded as he looked at the obese guest who resembled a pig.
However, upon seeing Yan Wanqing, the male guest’s eyes brightened instantly. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
He continuously surveyed Yan Wanqing from head to toe with a gaze so blatantly vulgar that to call it indecent would not be an overstatement, causing Yan Wanqing’s expression to chill.
She felt somewhat nauseated.
The fat pig, not yet satisfied, stood up and approached her.
"Esteemed guest!" the servant had not finished speaking when the fat pig pushed him aside.
The fat pig addressed Yan Wanqing, "Miss, you haven’t had your meal yet, have you? Why not join my table? I will have the restaurant serve another portion of stir-fried pork with green peppers so we can enjoy it together."
"How shameless must you be to still expect the restaurant to serve you another portion?" Yan Wanqing was continually astonished by the guest’s audacity, "You ate all the meat yourself, and now you have the nerve to demand compensation from the restaurant? That is utterly shameless. Also, if you dare to look at me with those greasy, disgusting eyes again, I will gouge out your eyes!"
Seeing Yan Wanqing defending the establishment and not giving him face, the male guest scoffed and his gaze shifted back and forth between her and the servant.
"I get it, you two are in cahoots, this woman is helping Taste Manor attract customers! You people at Taste Manor are playing dirty, what’s the difference from a brothel now?"
Upon hearing this, the servant’s complexion drastically changed, "Esteemed guest, please do not slander and tarnish the lady’s reputation, and if you intentionally came here to stir up trouble, don’t blame Taste Manor for being inhospitable." During his speech, the restaurant’s bouncers walked out from the back yard, eyeing the fat pig intimidatingly.
"Struck a nerve, have I? Now you’re throwing a tantrum," the fat pig scornfully scanned Yan Wanqing up and down, "Look at how coquettish you are; you’re clearly no decent lady. I was doing you a favor by offering you dinner; stop putting on airs."
"Have you all taken up Buddhism recently, or is the master not paying you enough, to let such trash into my Taste Manor!" A charming voice came from the third floor; Yan Wanqing looked up and saw Li Chengxiang in a blue gown.
At that moment, she stared coldly at the fat man, "What are you all standing there for! Throw him out for me!"
Having said that, she turned around and re-entered the house.
Fright appeared in the fat pig’s eyes. Just as he was about to speak, the servant who had been bowing continuously just moments earlier, without a word, took off his sock and stuffed it into the man’s mouth. Then he delivered a fierce blow to the man’s belly, causing the fat man to nearly roll his eyes back in his head, unable to shout. Afterwards, the servant gave a warm, apologetic smile to the other guests.
"Apologies for the disturbance, everyone. Please continue your meals; we will soon offer complimentary sweet soup to all."
Meanwhile, the bouncers dragged the fat pig outside; with her keen hearing, Yan Wanqing heard them giving him a thorough beating.
She curled the corner of her lips.
"What’s going on?" Wu Bie came over, puzzled; he had just finished bathing. Seeing the smile on Yan Wanqing’s lips, he asked, somewhat confused, "What’s amusing?"
"It’s amusing that over these three years, everyone has been working hard, maturing and growing, and it seems I’m the only one who hasn’t progressed," Yan Wanqing observed that Li Chengxiang was now capable of handling things independently and had become much more feisty, which was indeed very good.
Seeing everyone’s transformation, each person busy with their own matters, she felt genuinely relieved.
Wu Bie, thinking she was suddenly feeling sentimental due to being close to home, stretched out his hand and rubbed her head, "You’re already very impressive, don’t be so hard on yourself."
On the way, Yan Wanqing bought many toys from the vendors and placed them in her bag.
"Not sure what the child would like, so I had to buy them all," Yan Wanqing explained somewhat anxiously.
Wu Bie merely smiled silently and nodded.
He didn’t have children, but at this moment, observing Yan Wanqing experiencing the initial feelings of motherhood, and recalling her commanding presence outside, the contrast seemed quite stark.
No matter how remarkable a person is, they always soften in front of their own children.
"I heard that big brother and the fifth sister have already entered the city early; let’s hurry over as well," Yan Wanqing relayed the information she had gleaned from the servant to Wu Bie, and they chatted as they headed towards the Yan Family’s home.
They had only just reached the entrance.
Yan Wanqing suddenly stopped quite a distance away.
"What’s the matter?"
Yan Wanqing stared ahead, "I’m, I’m a bit scared."
Her heart felt as though it would leap out of her chest.
"What is there to be scared of, let’s go, everyone is probably waiting for you by now," Wu Bie said nonchalantly.
Yan Wanqing watched as he took the lead. She bit her lips, took a deep breath, and followed him.
She really felt pathetic, even feeling nervous about returning home.
When they reached the door,
Wu Bie stepped forward and knocked.
He was just about to speak when he realized no one was there.
"I’m here." A childish voice came from below.
Wu Bie looked down to see a small, exquisitely crafted boy dressed in brocade, looking up at him—a spitting image of a miniature Yan Wanqing.
Dark eyes fixed on him, filled with curiosity.
"Are you Shui?" His speech was slightly slurred with the characteristic lisp of children, making Wu Bie almost want to pick him up and give him a big kiss to satisfy his heart.
"Are you Xiao Cong?" Wu Bie had learned the child’s name from Yan Li’an, so he asked.
Xiao Cong tilted his head, only half of his face visible, his gaze cautious, "I is not."
Seeing the little one being so wary, Wu Bie couldn’t help but chuckle, "Okay, okay, you’re not. Can you tell your adults that there’s a visitor here?"
Xiao Cong glanced at Wu Bie, seemingly analyzing the credibility of his words, before sticking out a finger from inside the door: "There’s two of you?"
Wu Bie, sensing the person behind him rigid as a stone, couldn’t help feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Awan?" he called out.
Yan Wanqing tried her best to shrink behind Wu Bie, only daring to stealthily peek out at the situation at the door.
The little one did exactly the same, and two pairs of dark, shiny eyes met in the air.
Yan Wanqing felt as if she had been struck by lightning, tingling from her scalp down to her heels.
Her son... her son! It was her son!
So cute, so cute, so cute!
Her heart was screaming, howling in turmoil! Her son was so adorable!
Such a tiny one, plump and milky, his cheeks probably smelled of milk when kissed!
Yan Wanqing swallowed.
Very sincerely.
Wanting to hug, wanting to kiss.
But she was afraid her actions might frighten Xiao Cong.
What if it spoiled his impression of his mother afterwards?
A battle raged inside Yan Wanqing’s mind.
But Xiao Cong was not timid.
He even walked out from the crack in the door and pointed at Yan Wanqing behind Wu Bie: "Why are you hiding?"
"I, I’m not hiding," Yan Wanqing coughed as she came out.
Wu Bie stood beside, stunned.
Was Awan stuttering?
