Chapter 1009: Chapter 863: Super Star 37 (Part 2)

That evening, Ling Yao and Liang An went out to socialize, while Hua Yan invited Zhou Yao to a barbecue place and treated her to dinner.

"It’s been two or three years since we last met, and you’ve become even prettier."

Zhou Yao’s first words when she saw her were to praise her beauty. In contrast, Zhou Yao herself looked increasingly good, with the confidence between her brows seeming more apparent than in previous years. Although she wasn’t particularly beautiful, she loved to smile, and didn’t they say? Girls who love to smile generally have good luck.

"Sis, have you been doing well these past few years? Why haven’t you become a regular makeup artist for a celebrity?"

Zhou Yao shook her head, "I think working with film crews is just fine. If I became an exclusive artist for a star, there’s a bigger chance I’d be replaced over time. Makeup needs to keep up with the times, and I can learn more with the crews. Don’t worry, now I’m serving second-tier or even first-tier celebrities, and my income has more than doubled, I’m quite content with this life."

Climbing from an obscure figure to her current status was indeed remarkable. Hua Yan admired people who succeeded through their own hard work, grounded and determined.

As long as Zhou Yao stays in this profession, Hua Yan hoped for more opportunities for collaboration in the future.

Hua Yan didn’t mention her part-time job as Ling Yao’s assistant since it was temporary, and she would return to school once the semester started.

So she still behaved like a well-behaved junior high school student in front of Zhou Yao.

They chatted until around eight or nine o’clock and then went back home. Before leaving, Hua Yan gave Zhou Yao all sorts of delicacies she had bought in Beijing as gifts. Zhou Yao felt a bit embarrassed, but she kept Hua Yan, this unrelated little sister, in her heart.

When she returned to the hotel, Ling Yao and the others hadn’t come back yet, probably because this kind of socializing wouldn’t wrap up until one or two in the morning.

She washed up first, then sat in her room typing on her computer until ten before transforming. Seeing that they hadn’t returned yet, she simply went to bed.

However, before she could fall asleep, the door was opened from the outside. In her cat form, she didn’t dare venture out easily.

She saw the assistant Xiao Meng supporting a staggering Ling Yao.

"Xiao Hua, Xiao Hua, are you awake? Your brother’s drunk, and Brother Liang is still downstairs. I need to go help him up; quickly come over and give me a hand."

Despite calling out for a long time, Hua Yan didn’t respond. Seeing this, he took it as a sign of inconvenience, so he took off Ling Yao’s shoes and jacket, covered him with a blanket, and left.

Once he left, Hua Yan tiptoed into Ling Yao’s room.

The overwhelming smell of alcohol made her nose uncomfortable, causing her to sneeze. She wrinkled her nose and used her paw to rub her face before lifting her head, only to find the bed too high and blocking her view. She then jumped onto the bed, walked to his head, and extended her paw to nudge him, but there was no response.

She extended her paw and patted Ling Yao’s cheek.

"Hey, wake up! You’re a demon, and yet you let a human get you drunk? Hurry up and use your abilities to expel the alcohol!"

No matter how many times she patted him, he still didn’t respond. Instead, he waved her hand away, muttering something unintelligible.

She didn’t understand him and wondered whether to make him a hangover soup or find a way to force the alcohol out of his body.

Yet, before she could react, the fellow behind made a clear ’ugh...’, followed by a putrid stench that instantly filled the room.

She stiffly turned her head, expecting to see the bed full of filth, but surprisingly, in such a condition, he managed to aim for the trash can and vomit into it! My goodness, should she call him skilled, or has this happened more than once?

Practice makes perfect!

Ling Yao vomited three times, only stopping once his stomach was completely empty, then yelled for water.

She disdainfully jumped down, pulled out some tissues to wipe up the mess with her paw, then threw them into the trash can, tying the garbage bag in a loop to seal it and pushed it to the living room. Only after doing all this did she remember that someone had just asked for water.

She took a bottle of mineral water from her space and stuffed it into his covers. If this guy was bothered, he’d naturally wake up.

Now that he had emptied his stomach, there was no worry about him choking from vomiting, so Hua Yan confidently went off to sleep.

At six in the morning, the lazy cat on the bed turned into a stark naked beautiful young girl. Perhaps feeling the chill, the coolness nudged her to wake up early. She rubbed her eyes, checked the time, quickly put on appropriate loungewear, and ran to Ling Yao’s room, only to find that somehow he had ended up sleeping on the floor. Luckily, the floor had been cleaned sufficiently, or else he’d be filthy!
