Chapter 993: Chapter 856: Super Star 30 (Part 2)

"It won’t be forgotten, at most unfamiliar; once in the water, after moving for a moment, the memory will return. So, I’ll look around later to see if there’s a place nearby suitable for us to practice swimming. It’s an even better form of exercise than running. If there is, we’ll swim three times a week. It’s a survival skill that must be mastered!"

Hua Yan felt that there were too many things she needed to teach this child, so she could only handle them one at a time for now.

While cooking, there were safety tips for cooking. When going out, she also told him that not everyone deserves help, explaining clearly who to help and who to refuse firmly, along with vivid examples, even including how the court ruled in such cases for Ning Hao’s learning.

Mr. and Mrs. Ning followed behind them, naturally hearing everything. Subsequently, they had to sigh with emotion that, when it comes to raising children, they regret not spending enough time with him and their lack of patience. In the end, they were not responsible enough, not even as much as a thirteen-year-old child, which was truly shameful.

Ning Hao’s holiday homework required her to spend time in the evening for a detailed check. So after dinner, after taking a walk downstairs, Ning Hao and Hua Yan each carried a box of specialty products to Hua Yan’s house, then let Ning Hao go home to sleep while she went to check his homework in space after freshening up.

The next day, Ning Hao came to correct the mistakes, which weren’t many, and they finished all the homework in just over an hour.

Once the homework was ready, both siblings felt much relieved. Then they cleaned both the inside and outside of the two households, and in the afternoon, they went out shopping.

They bought new clothes, new shoes, went to the supermarket to buy daily necessities, and finally went to the gym where they got a swimming voucher card. Oh boy, just in one day, they spent 10,000 yuan. The swimming card was for one hundred visits, costing 7,800 yuan, 78 yuan per visit, usable by both, valid for one year.

Ning Hao felt somewhat distressed about the money spent, but Hua Yan didn’t mind: "Your sister has more money than you. We’re siblings, your parents are my parents too, so don’t argue with me about it. If you really want to repay me, just get into Beijing University Affiliated Middle School or Beijing Fourth Middle School, as long as it’s a key school, your sister will be happy."

"Let’s go home and make a study plan. This year you’re advancing to sixth grade. I’ll give you a head start. We also exercise less usually, so as long as the homework is done, we’ll go for a swim for an hour in the evening to ensure you have ample activity,"

In Hua Yan’s view, jogging for half an hour each morning in the community still doesn’t meet the standard. Life lies in exercise. Only a healthy body is the foundation of the revolution.

With new clothes for the new semester, clean backpacks, and neatly organized notebooks all prepared, the siblings went to bed early to await the next day’s registration day.

Ning Hao registered in the morning and also did some cleaning. In the afternoon, the school had a general meeting. The middle school’s registration and cleaning were in the afternoon, and boarders would stay at the school that night, while day students could go home.

As soon as Hua Yan arrived at school, she found her classmates warmly greeting her, still mentioning her saving someone during the summer. She could only awkwardly smile.

She thought the matter was long past, and everyone would just mention it briefly in passing. Who would have thought that during the Monday general assembly, the principal would award her a "Model Student of Helping Others" certificate, and even gave her a one thousand yuan bookstore voucher, which left her stunned.

When she went on stage to receive the award, she was still in a daze. When the principal hinted for her to make a speech, she felt quite embarrassed because she actually didn’t do that well in the situation. But with everyone watching, she could only deliver some official remarks.

Afterward, the principal told her, "Take it, this was sent to you by the family members, but fearing you’d refuse, they made us award it to you this way. Although it’s not much, it’s their goodwill, so just accept it."

Not expecting this, Hua Yan blushed as she accepted it, and the principal looked at her with endless admiration: "What a good child you are!"

If her parents were alive, how bright would her future be without that incident?

Unfortunately, with such a father, no matter how excellent this child becomes, her potential work opportunities in the future might still face significant losses.

The one thousand yuan book fund sounds like a lot, but in reality, it doesn’t buy many books, as the prices of genuine books are high.

However, it’s still someone’s good intention, and it must be fully utilized. She planned to visit the bookstore with Ning Hao over the weekend. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Apart from this, her exam results also came out. She successfully advanced to the finals in English, which were entirely oral and included English debates. The event would even be recorded on Beijing Education TV, which was quite impressive, though it unintentionally added pressure to the contestants.

Although she also made it to the finals in Chinese, her ranking was relatively low, and the chances of winning an award were slim. Yet participating helped her realize many shortcomings and challenges, pointing out areas for improvement. Thus, while her novels were successful, it didn’t mean she could handle such competition modes effectively. Just the memorization aspect was a complete loss for her. With her current level, participating in a future poetry contest would be very challenging, so mastering it would require proficiency in the Three Hundred Tang Poems.

Mathematics progressed to the semi-finals, ranking relatively high, but whether she would actually place or not remained uncertain.

No wonder people say experience is best gained through practice. In such competitions, those who participate are usually top students or Academic Gods selected from various schools. Just having an opportunity to go through it once is fulfilling, and the experience is valuable in itself, warranting summary and improvement for the next time.

It was heard that in eighth grade, she could also participate in physics, chemistry, and biology competitions. This means that more competitions lead to stricter selection. Lasting until the end depends on overall national rankings.
