Chapter 654: Chapter 631: Strange Girl (2/3)

Wu Qi’s expression darkened somewhat.

He held Zhou Heng in some regard, but he would never truly take Zhou Heng seriously after all, as he was just a Moonlight Emperor—an existence Wu Qi could easily erase. In his view, taking Zhou Heng on as a follower was doing Zhou Heng a favor while also killing two birds with one stone—saving Luo Wuji’s face—which is why he had casually mentioned it.

Unexpectedly, Hu Mei actually wanted to compete with him, and it even put him in a passive position, to the point where he almost couldn’t exit the situation gracefully.

Others naturally wouldn’t dare, but Hu Mei’s reputation matched his, and her strength was no weaker!

Though he believed in his inevitable victory, he also wouldn’t be blindly arrogant enough to underestimate Hu Mei—she was a formidable enemy he couldn’t take lightly!

"Brother Wu, this little sister has organized this banquet, how about giving me some face?" Hu Mei smiled charmingly, her allure almost divine.

Wu Qi slightly frowned; he and Hu Mei were bound to clash eventually, but if it happened here, it would inevitably lead to gossip about him not understanding decorum—that others kindly invited him to a banquet, yet he started fighting during the event.

He still cared very much about his reputation.

"Since Fairy Hu has spoken, naturally I must give this face!" Wu Qi revealed a slight smile; there was no need to rush matters like killing. With the opening of the Imperial Dragon Hall forthcoming, a bloody storm was inevitable!

"Ladies and gentlemen, please continue to drink and enjoy the snacks!" Hu Mei then turned and smiled at everyone, naturally needing to lively up the atmosphere of the banquet as the host. After saying this, she stepped elegantly towards Zhou Heng.

This was why Zhou Heng discarded the idea of catching up with Wu Qi for a fight.

Regardless, Hu Mei had helped him this time, even though he didn’t really need such help. In light of this favor, he owed it to her to show some face.

"Thank you, Fairy Hu, for stepping in!" Zhou Heng said with a clasped fist, his expression calm and his eyes showing no dazzled amazement, as if he hadn’t noticed the stunning beauty standing before him, a beauty that could overshadow flowers.

Hu Mei was slightly surprised; as a beautiful woman, she actually had quite the advantage, with many men losing their composure over her beauty and easily manipulated by her.

Of course, this was also because her own strength was formidable enough; otherwise, being too beautiful was not necessarily a good thing for a woman—it would only make her a plaything for men.

Hu Mei gave a slight smile and said, "I had learned a bit about Brother Zhou before, just thought Brother Zhou was a Three Stars Pharmacist, but I didn’t expect that Brother Zhou could even refine Seventh Grade Pills, truly giving me quite the shock!"

She treated Zhou Heng as her equal not because of the battle power Zhou Heng had just shown, but because he could refine Seventh Grade Pills!

This meant Zhou Heng was a Seven Stars Pharmacist!

How astonishing!

Such a young Seven Stars Pharmacist, who might even have the potential to become an Eight Stars or even Nine Stars Pharmacist in the future!

Such beings would be revered even by the Creation Emperor!

Hu Mei saw great potential in Zhou Heng’s future, and it was very likely to be realized!

Seven Stars Pharmacist?

Lian Jingxiang was shocked; Zhou Heng was a Seven, Seven Stars Pharmacist?

Absolute fantasy!

But would Hu Mei say such nonsense? Her surname is Hu, but it didn’t mean she spoke nonsense!

She had already held Zhou Heng in high regard, but no matter how highly she thought of him, how could she expect that this man was actually a Seven Stars Pharmacist!

Thinking about Lian Youhao’s attitude towards Zhou Heng, she really felt like dying!

Yet, Zhou Heng just shook his head and said, "Fairy, you might be mistaken; I am only a Three Stars Pharmacist, incapable of refining Seventh Grade Pills!"

He would never admit those three Soul Consolidating Pills were refined by him; if this came out, he might indeed get captured and forced to refine pills exclusively.

Hu Mei did not dwell on this too long; as long as she knew Zhou Heng had the capability, that was enough. After talking for a bit more with Zhou Heng, she left, as the host of the banquet couldn’t possibly stay with one guest the whole time, with many others needing her greeting.

Before long, the banquet officially began, with beautiful dancers spinning gracefully, a soul-stirring singing girl melodiously performing, and comedians presenting jokes that had everyone bursting into laughter.

Zhou Heng was solely interested in the food and drink; Lian Jingxiang joined him for a while but soon left to expand her connections—a rare opportunity—although Zhou Heng was a better prospect, he stayed on the Lian Family’s starship, affording plenty of opportunities, so there was no hurry.

Soon, Zhou Heng had cleared the Spirit Fruits and fine wines before him, still not sated, he moved along the long table, continuing his feast.

Though many wanted to establish a rapport with him, knowing that he had a grudge with One Sword Breaks the Heavens Wu Qi, they all avoided him as if he were a disaster.

What if Wu Qi misunderstood their interaction?

To offend a Supreme of the Sunshine King over a mere Moonlight Emperor’s Supreme? That would be foolish.

Moreover, with the Imperial Dragon Hall soon opening where the Sunshine King played a decisive role, who would risk getting slaughtered by Wu Qi there? That would be extremely unfortunate!

Like a plague god, wherever Zhou Heng went, people scattered. This was actually not bad for him, allowing him to pick the most valuable Spirit Fruits, eating his fill before moving to another spot.

Bang!

He was eating with gusto when someone unexpectedly bumped into him, but of course, there was no enmity between them, and the collision was light. Just because of that, his nerves didn’t react in time, as the person had no intent to kill nor fight.

It was purely an accident.

Zhou Heng turned around and saw that he had collided with a slender young girl, bosom plump and waist so fine it could be encompassed with one hand, her round buttocks slightly tilted upwards, giving her figure a very spicy look. However, her face was incredibly plain, the type you could find on any street without anyone giving a second glance.

The girl was just like him, coming from another direction, her mouth stuffed full, with a trail of Spirit Fruit’s fragrant juice hanging from the corner of her mouth, looking rather comical.

The two of them glanced at each other and both started laughing.

Foodie meets foodie, a sympathetic resonance.

"Hey, you were the guy fighting earlier!" the girl exclaimed after staring at Zhou Heng for a while, nearly spitting out the fruit flesh she hadn’t chewed properly yet.

What kind of observation was that! Or rather, it could be said that she didn’t take him seriously at all, had forgotten him after one glance, and only remembered when she saw him again.

"I’m Zhou Heng!" Zhou Heng said with a slight smile.

The girl wasn’t beautiful, but her eyes were exceptionally expressive, cunning, and clear like a Spiritual Spring, very comforting to look at. She blinked, showing a wariness as she sized up Zhou Heng from head to toe, asking, "What, trying to get close to me?"

Zhou Heng couldn’t help but smile. At first, he suspected the girl might have used some Facial Transformation Technique, as she possessed the Immortal Jade Qi and her figure was so perfect; theoretically, her face shouldn’t look so ordinary, but no matter how he observed, he couldn’t spot anything unnatural about her facial features.

What a pity!

"Yes, look at us, we’re the only two people here diving into the food like this. It’s fate!" Zhou Heng laughed.

The girl instantly brightened up, saying, "Exactly, if it’s a feast then naturally we should eat heartily. These people don’t know what’s important, all a bunch of dummies!"

"What’s your name?" Zhou Heng asked again.

"Seeing that you and I share some fate, I’ll be kind-hearted and tell you my name. You better remember it, if you dare forget, I’ll chop off your head next time!" the girl said seriously, even showing her cute little canines in a threatening manner.

Zhou Heng laughed heartily, shaking his head and saying, "My memory is always good, I won’t forget!"

"Alright then, I’m Bing Xiulan, ’Bing’ as in frost, ’Xiu’ as in elegance, and ’Lan’ as in orchid. How about that, isn’t that name nice?" the girl looked at Zhou Heng with pride, expecting him to praise her.

"Nice!" Zhou Heng said with a smile, as the girl, although not pretty, was unpretentious, which was a rare quality.

"Then aren’t you going to praise me? Don’t worry, I won’t get conceited!" Bing Xiulan looked at Zhou Heng expectantly.

"Do I really have to?" Zhou Heng scratched his head, as being often with Black Donkey, he was more skilled at sarcasm than at giving compliments.

"Absolutely!" Bing Xiulan insisted.

"Alright!" Zhou Heng racked his brains to come up with some words of praise, which left Bing Xiulan sighing and repeatedly saying Zhou Heng had no talent for it.

"But, this proves you are quite honest!" Finally, the girl concluded.

Zhou Heng couldn’t help but sweat, as the word ’honest’ seemed to have never been associated with him. freewebnøvel.coɱ

"Seeing how honest you are, you do qualifiy marginally to become my brother-in-law!" Bing Xiulan chewed on her finger thoughtfully, and oddly enough, although she wasn’t attractive, this gesture seemed very natural on her, irresistibly invoking sympathy.

Zhou Heng sweated more profusely, as the girl’s thought process was so erratic that she suddenly considered finding a husband for her sister.

"But you’re not fierce enough, without being fierce you can’t control my sister, and she’ll still be bossing me around!" Bing Xiulan shook her head, scrutinized Zhou Heng again, and sighed with a disappointed expression.

Zhou Heng was taken aback, realizing her purpose for finding a man for her sister was to get her sister to stop managing her!

What a bizarre idea was that?

"Your sister is benevolent not to have strangled you to death!" Zhou Heng sighed.

"Tch, my sister is very good to me, don’t you dare sow discord between my sister and me!" Bing Xiulan immediately furrowed her brows and ground her teeth at Zhou Heng.

Zhou Heng laughed heartily, saying, "Then why are you so eager to push her off to someone else?"

"Because my sister only thinks about cultivation, and I as a sister have to be more industrious, taking more care for her behalf!" Bing Xiulan presented herself with a self-sacrificing grandeur.

"I found that not only can you eat, your cheek is also incredibly thick!" Zhou Heng clicked his tongue in wonder.

"Cut it out, you’re not allowed to slander me!" Bing Xiulan gave Zhou Heng a big eye-roll.

Zhou Heng laughed again, finding his conversations with this quirky girl exceedingly delightful.

"Forget it, I’ll assess you slowly in the future. For now, I’ve marked you as the top candidate for brother-in-law, just be grateful and dutiful toward me, that’s enough!" Bing Xiulan resumed stuffing her cheeks, "Now I’m busy and have no time to talk to you!"

Zhou Heng, feeling playful, immediately began competing with her for food. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you are welcome to vote for it and promote it at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to continue reading.)
