Chapter 1598: Castle in the sky (13)
"I’m sure that you’re wondering about the design of this castle."
As the hologram made his way through the halls, he seemed to be making small talk with me.
Most of what he said wasn’t really that interesting, but I couldn’t help feeling a bit curious when he started asking about the design of the castle.
Well, there was only one thing that I was actually curious about...
The Relic of Destruction and the trace of creation energy.
Only I was disappointed by his answer...
"Well, we have no idea how this castle came to be either."
Once again, he really knew just how to piss me off...
"This castle was given to us by the goddess when she asked us to take care of the Relic of Destruction, so we don’t actually know anything about how it came to be."
Then after a pause, Gabriel added, "Of course, we were given a manual on how to control it."
The rest of what he said didn’t have anything that actually interested me.
So I just followed behind him without saying anything.
After walking for a bit longer, we arrived at this room that was at the back of this castle.
This was a strange looking room, but I recognized what it was.
It was a room that was filled with magic crystals. This should be the room where the mana from the pedestal was being channeled into. freёnovelkiss.com
Then did that mean that I had to directly control the magic crystals to control the flight of the castle?
"It’s over here."
The hologram didn’t actually stop in front of the crystals, but instead came over to another part of the room.
When I followed him, I found that there was some kind of console that was there.
Only it seemed excessively complicated that I didn’t have an idea of what to do.
But after seeing this console, I looked around to see that it wasn’t just this single console that was here. It was several other consoles that were also in this room that all seemed to be connected.
"Isn’t this a bit too complicated?"
I couldn’t help saying in a strained voice when I saw all of this.
The hologram naturally didn’t say anything in response to this.
Instead, the hologram seemed to move to the side before pointing down at something to say, "Here’s the guide for how to operate this. Good luck."
As soon as he finished saying this, the hologram suddenly disappeared.
"Really? Is that all you have to say?" I couldn’t help complaining after seeing the hologram disappear.
But in the end, there was nothing to gain from complaining.
After all, it wasn’t as if complaining would bring the hologram back. At the same time, it wasn’t as if complaining would actually let me learn how to control these things.
The only thing that I could do was read the guide that had been left behind.
However, the moment that I opened the guide...my eyes couldn’t help twitching.
It was a wall of text.
It was much more complicated than I thought it would be.
I didn’t even know where to begin as I looked at the wall of text that was in front of me.
But before I could actually get into it, I heard something coming from the distance.
"Your majesty, where are you?"
This was a voice that I recognized, so I poked my head out the door and found that there was Klein leading the others in looking for me.
I couldn’t help being surprised since there should have still been the barrier that was around this castle. After all, I hadn’t removed the Relic of Destruction yet, which would have cut the power source to the barrier.
However, I didn’t bother thinking too much about this.
"Over here!"
As soon as they heard this, Klein led the royal guards and the ones from the Holy Empire over.
It seemed like there was something that he wanted to say, but I raised my hand to cut him off before saying, "I need your help."
All of them immediately focused and waited for my orders.
Though judging by the looks on their faces, it was clear that they had many questions in their hearts.
Such as what was happening, what happened here, and most importantly, where was the Relic of Destruction.
Only there was no time for this.
I also didn’t give orders right away as I looked at the guide that was in my hand.
They looked like they were getting impatient when they saw that I wasn’t saying anything, but they still waited for my instructions.
After a long silence, I pointed at one of the consoles to say, "Get on that and press the buttons that I tell you to press."
They looked surprised and confused when they heard this, but Klein was the one that reacted first and he went over to the console to wait for my instructions.
"Blue, red, blue, green, yellow."
When he pressed those buttons, there was a loud sound that came from the castle.
They all looked at me with a concerned look, but I pointed at the next console before saying, "That one next. Hurry up!"
There were bitter looks on their faces which made it clear that they wanted more answers, but they still followed my instructions.
After a while, there was a joystick that suddenly appeared on the console that I was on along with an image that appeared. This was an image of the sky that was outside of the castle.
This was a first person view of someone driving the castle.
Taking a deep breath, I grabbed the joystick and focused on getting used to controlling the castle.
But it certainly wasn’t something that was that easy to learn.
It was just a good thing that we were high up in the sky and I had plenty of space or else we certainly would have crashed into something.
After a while, I said, "Brace yourselves."
