The orphanages were places where the higher authority, in this case the priests, started taking money for themselves, giving only bits and pieces to the children for whom the money was taken.
The children started starving, some even started selling the children to the slave traders and the dark magicians.
For the kids, it was safer on the streets where they can earn something to feed themselves than to put their life on the line in the orphanages provided by the churches.
As for what the church did for them?
Turn a blind eye.
Why?
Because even the higher authorities were corrupt as hell.
"Just what is Goddess Alepsia doing..."(Ethan)
Hearing the story, Ethan had a rather dejected expression. It seemed he knew about the things that were going on in the city and the slums...
"Itโs an open secret at this point, though?"(Adolph)
Adolph looked at Noah with a question filled gaze, as if wondering why he was asking this question.
"Everyone knows that the church is corrupted at this point. The Goddess just turns a blind eye to everything. I suppose even the Goddess is corrupted."(Adolph)
He added.
"Oi Kid! Are you crazy? Thatโs blasphemous."(Ethan)
"Not really. If the Goddess is omnipotent then why is she letting all this happen? Why is she letting us suffer?!! For us, the Black Snow Priest is far more of a God than the Goddess Alepsia can ever be. He helps us for free, he treats without taking anything. He provides us hope, he listens to us... even now we are all eating properly because he is there for us!!"(Adolph)
Adolph shouted out loud, his anger raging as he glared at Ethan.
Jessica had slight tears in her eyes, while the other kids were silently observing the group.
"Where was your Goddess when my sister was taken by those churches? Where was your Goddess when Jessicaโs parents were killed? Where was your Goddess when most of our brothers starved to death? Where is your Goddess, Ethan?!! Tell me! Is it your goddess wish for us to starve to death and then rot until somebody puts us in a sewer?!!!"(Adolph)
"That..."(Ethan)
Noah then picked up a napkin, and cleaned his face before standing up from there.
"Thank you Jeena for providing me with the information. Here, you can pay the bill with this."(Noah)
Taking out 5 Gold coins from his pocket, he placed it on the table in front of Jeena.
Even one gold coin was more than twice enough to pay for the meals so the 5 coins were rather extravagant for this. But looking at his silent expression, nobody said anything.
Noah simply walked away from there without any further words.
He reached the bakery beside the shop, brought a bunch of flavours of cakes and pastries, and then began walking towards the temple until he reached back to Yunaโs office.
"Elios? You are late today... wait you came late so that was expected, I guess? Hmmm? Whatโs that?!"(Yuna)
Yunaโs eyes glistened as she looked at the cakes in Noahโs hands.
"I did not know what you preferred so I bought a piece of each. Thank you for always taking care of me, Yuna."(Noah)
Yuna, a bit embarrassed, took the cake from Noahโs hand and began checking through the cakes. A smile was present on her face.
"Oh! Come on! That wasnโt needed at all. Jee thanks, though."(Yuna)
"On that note, Yuna. Can you tell me the area with the biggest Orphanage in the city? And also give me about 300 requests around that area, all the more if they are connected with the orphanage."(Noah)
Yuna was surprised to hear that from Noah, though looking at the serious expression on his face, she understood that something must have happened in todayโs requests.
"I can do that... but... try not to do things beyond what you can handle okay?"(Yuna)
She spoke as she then took out a certain picture from her drawer before speaking.
"This is the largest Orphanage, St. Oliha Orphanage in the West of the City."(Yuna)
Noah nodded before politely thanking her and then leaving from there without any further ado.
โI know he had connections with the Saintess Alicia so he should be fine... but still, I should pull a few strings to make sure he doesnโt get caught in any trouble. Itโs a bit early... but I think we can also begin our operation too... we probably wonโt get another chance like this.โ(Yuna)
As Noah made plans, Yuna also had her own plans regarding this scenario that was presented in front of her. Unlike the usual overflowing kindness, there was a hint of fury in her eyes.
Unaware of the events unfolding, Noah simply walked to the head priestโs office this time.

The door opened by itself before Noah entered the room.
Head Priest Markus, busy in his work paused a bit before observing Noah standing in front of him.
"I am going to weed out the St. Oliha Orphanage."(Noah)
Markusโ eyes analyzed Noah for a brief moment before he closed his eyes for the time being. He seems to be calculating something before speaking.
"Will Fenrir do it? Or will it be the Black Snow Priest?"(Markus)
"Both in their own way."(Noah)
"You have three days."(Markus)
Noah nodded before moving away from there, leaving the head priest Markus alone by himself.
"Making this old man work at this age... sigh... I am really not cut out of this job."(Markus)
Markus then began writing once again, this time a different form of request than before.
His target?
A famous adventuererโs Party that had been making waves in the city these days.
"This much should be enough for the back up."(Markus)
"It should. After all, โheโ is connected to that party as well, in a way."(Lucas)
Lucas appeared from the shadows with a serious expression on his face. His eyes looked at the name of the part on the report.
