Sinner System-Chapter 551: Final Dungeon - Final Floor (Part 5)
Gula let out a chuckle as she slammed her fist against the middle of a petrified Archdemon’s torso, shattering that spot, along with the Core.
A stuttering roar of pain rang out as Acedia slipped behind another of the Archdemons and grabbed the back of her head with his right hand, unleashing a devastating burst of lightning and frying her brain, before driving his left hand towards the middle of her back.
His claws pierced through before colliding against her Core with a sharp clink, shattering it upon impact, before his arm burst out the front of her torso.
Ira flew up and swooped down towards one of the remaining Archdemons, veering across as the Archdemon fired out a powerful, rapid Negative Energy blast, before he formed a blade of Ether along his right palm and whipped it down, splitting the Archdemon’s head open, before swiftly firing out a piercing beam of Ether at the Archdemon’s Core from his left hand, piercing through before the Archdemon could react.
A cry of pain echoed out as Avaritia lunged at the last remaining Archdemon, snapping her jaws around his neck before ripping his throat out and plunging her claws into his solar plexus.
The Archdemon shuddered in pain, before she ripped his Core out and crushed it in her grasp, the Archdemon collapsing with a thud and slumping against the ground.
"Man...remember when even a single Archdemon appearing was a huge deal? And we just watched more than twenty of them get wiped out in less than a minute," Remarked Jaden in bemusement.
"Yeah, even if these ones were a bit on the weaker side and clearly unskilled and inexperienced in battle, they all had Power Levels of over two million," Nodded Aria in response.
We’ve all blown so far past that level that it seems like nothing at this point. There was a point where a Power Level of half a million seemed like a big deal to me, and I can now reach a Power Level of over twenty times higher than that.
Now, then...
"Hey, Avaritia, how much further to the next group of Archdemons?" I inquired, as we approached the Apostles.
"<Not too far, Master. At the pace we’ve been moving at, we should reach them in less than two minutes>."
"Sounds good. Any of you need me to resummon you?" I asked the Apostles.
"<All good here, Daddy>."
"<Same, got nothing more than a few scratches, Boss>."
"<You’ll need to withdraw and summon us if you end up selected to fight the Demon Lord, so you should conserve your Mana>," Reasoned Superbia objectively.
Yeah, that’s a fair point.
"<If nothing else, we’re all more than intact enough to take on five more Archdemons, Chief>," Added Ira confidently.
"Okay, then, let’s keep going," I replied, before following after Avaritia as she led the way.
"Hm, if these Archdemons are stronger than the ones we fought before, maybe they’re members of the Demon Lord’s Generals?" Suggested Aria thoughtfully.
"<Possibly, or at least candidates that were considered to become Generals>," Responded Acedia.
"Oh, that’s right, you used to be one of the Demon Lord’s Generals yourself, right? So, I bet you’d recognize them if-...," Began Jaden.
"<No, probably not>."
"<Don’t worry, Daddy, I’m familiar with some of the Generals, so I should be able to recognize them, if they were already Generals before I was deployed to the Dungeon where we met>," Spoke up Luxuria with a thumbs up.
"<I suppose we should decide how to divide up. The four of you should be able to handle one apiece without any trouble>," Superbia said to Acedia, Ira, Avaritia and Gula, before adding as she gestured to herself, Luxuria and Invidia, "<In which case, the three of us will handle the fifth one>."
"<Yes, I have no qualms with that>," Nodded Avaritia in response.
"<Me neither>," Added Gula in agreement.
"<Likewise>," Chimed in Ira.
"<I suppose I don’t have much of a choice>," Acedia sighed wistfully.
"<Man, it sucks being among the weakest out of all of us>," Mused Invidia enviously.
"<What do you mean ’among’ the weakest? You quite literally are the weakest of us, shithead>," Scoffed Luxuria smugly.
"<Screw you, thot, I bet I could totally kick your ass>!"
"<Yeah? Because last I checked, I’ve got a pretty overwhelming winning record against you when we spar, you soyboy beta male incel>."
"<You slutty fucking bitch, I-...>!"
"Guys, come on, cut it out," I sighed in exasperation.
"<Sorry, Boss>."
"<I’m sorry. You should punish me and teach me a lesson, Dadd-...>."
"Uh, Avaritia, how much further?" Interjected Aria with a huff.
"<We’re almost there, they should come into sight any second now-...we’ve arrived>."
Sure enough, a group of five Archdemons came into sight, narrowing their eyes at us, before the Apostles stepped forward.
"<Oh, I recognize two of them, they were candidates to become Generals>," Remarked Luxuria, grouping up with Superbia and Invidia, the other four splitting off before rushing forward.
"Seriously, though...five powerful Archdemons and I’m not even batting an eye. If you told me a few months ago that I’d be in this situation, I’d just assume that I’d be completely doomed," Remarked Jaden, as the Apostles clashed against the Archdemons, loud crashes ringing out.
"Yeah, they don’t feel nearly as much of a threat as they used to," Nodded Ciel, as Jaden swiftly stepped forward and formed a wall of telekinesis in front of us as several stray Negative Energy blasts flew this way, blocking them out before they could reach us.
"These five are definitely putting up a much better fight than the last group, though, this might take a while," Frowned Cleo in response.
"Think we should enter the fray?" Suggested Aria.
"No, there’s no need. We need to conserve our energy as much as possible, we can’t afford to be even a fraction below our best when we reach the Demon Lord," I shook my head, after taking a moment to mull it over...
