Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 187—Searching
'It's her,' Giliberu mused with a scowl.
The woman that the Goblin Lord brought when he was hit by Carnal Impulse for the first time.
'She was alive until recently, but she died while giving birth to a goblin baby,' he frowned, clenching his fists. 'And that baby was…'
All the goblin babies died in the Dragon Breath. Not even bones remained.
Three days earlier—
"Did not bring along any baby to escape?" Giliberu asked, glancing at Giru.
Giru, shaking his head, replied, "No, they are troublesome to take care of—"
Gilo cut in bitterly, "We are weak, so my dad scolded me when I tried to bring my brother."
Back to present—
"It has been two years since she was missing," Bailiff Lion said, gritting his teeth.
"Mama…" The girls broke into tears.
'They can remember,' Giliberu felt his heart clench.
'Mana helped them develop some impressive memory… but it's bad in this scenario,' he mused bitterly.
"I'll kill every goblin one day," the girl on the right declared, with wide eyes.
"Hmm… I'll support my sister." Her sister didn't back down.
Giliberu's eyes twitched. 'It's the goblin's survival instinct…But it's your enemy.'
He frowned bitterly, 'And these twins are right…Anyone would feel the same if swapped with twins.'
"Get out… go play and stop this nonsense," Lion yelled, glaring at the twins with a frown.
The twins silently rushed out.
"Sorry about bringing sad past," Lion said, with a bitter smile.
"No… no… it wasn't a problem." Giliberu shook his head.
He asked, clenching his wooden stick, "Why… I mean, why didn't Creation God give women to goblins?"
"It's the doubt everyone has," Lion replied, raising his head to the ceiling.
He pointed to the top and continued, "But no one can answer. You, me, and many believe that if goblins had women in their race, they might behave differently… It's just a pity."
Giliberu asked, his brows raised high, "No one found out? And what about the goblins' curse? Is that why they kidnapped my granddaughter?"
"Curse…" Lion sighed. "Some believe it was given by the Creation Goddess, due to the goblins' pathetic behavior, but a few say that the goblins' personality is because of that curse."
He added, his voice dry, with a sadistic grin, "But I believe Goddess must have cursed them for such behavior."
Giliberu's brows twitched. 'No answer… I'll check in another place.'
"Wait here for a moment… I'll check in with Hearts," he said, standing as thud! thud!
Two middle-aged men entered the room with Hearts.
Hearts, pointing at the man with short black hair, clad in golden light armor, a spear on his back, said, "This is F-rank adventurer… Lio."
He then introduced the man with long orange hair, clad in heavy armor, a heavy sword on his back, "This is the E-rank adventurer… Jett."
"Hello, Lio, Jett," Giliberu nodded at them, standing up with shaking legs.
'So, there were adventurers in the village… no wonder Lion rushed back and mentioned he informed adventurers,' he mused, clicking his tongue.
"There's no time to waste," Lio said, narrowing his eyes.
"Yes, the goblin should have already run to his hideout," Jett said, frowning. "We have to rush, or else…"
Giliberu replied, nodding, "Yes… no time to waste… let's go."
Jett and Lio glanced at each other. They nodded to each other.
Jett drew his heavy sword. Everyone in the room suddenly felt a chill, except for the goblin in disguise. He handed his sword to Lio, who placed it on his back.
Giliberu was picked up by Jett and placed on his back.
"What's this, boy?" he asked, patting Jett's shoulder.
"We don't have time…" Jett replied. "Let's rush out."
"See you later." Lio waved his hand at Hearts and Bailiff Lion.
"Iron Body!" "Reinforced Body," both adventurers flared with aura as they dashed out of the dwelling.
A few minutes later—
"Whoaaa." Giliberu's hair flew in the wind, and he shook his body.
"Don't worry, old man… You won't fall," Jett said, with a grin as he held onto Giliberu's legs.
'He is surprisingly kind,' Giliberu thought, with a small smile.
They stopped suddenly as Lio pulled out a map and asked, "Old man, where did they kidnap your granddaughter?"
"Here," Giliberu pointed to the same area, which he'd shown to Bailiff Lion.
"Good," adventurers nodded as they dashed to the place.
"Multi Phantom," Giliberu muttered, as a blue magic rune flared on his palm.
Thud!
Footsteps echoed as the duo stopped.
"Old man… You brought adventurers?" Clone Giliberu flashed in front.
"You stinky goblin…" the duo roared, with voices cracking.
Jett placed down the old man and took his heavy sword from Lio.
Lio asked, drawing his spear, "Where is the old man's granddaughter?"
"No time," the clone muttered as he cast, "Demonic Surge."
He flared with demonic force.
The duo instantly felt a chill down their spine.
In the next moment—thud!—thud!—they both fell to the ground unconscious.
The clone had punched them both at the same time in the gut.
'I don't want to blow up my cover,' Giliberu thought as the clone disappeared with—bang!
The old man shifted back to his goblin form. He took out some weapons and items from his magic pouch and placed them in Jett and Lio's magic pouches.
"It's for a gift—kind nature," he muttered, as "Demonic Surge," he erupted with demonic force and dashed out.
One day later—
In the guest room.
"Why are goblins cursed?" The old man asked a middle-aged man, clad in a clean and bright tunic.
"It must be for their pathetic behavior." The man replied, standing up.
He then picked up his weapon, yelling, "How dare you mention goblins?"
Giliberu frowned.
Three days later—
"Creation Goddess might have felt that goblins were so dangerous to other-race women, so she might not have created goblin women to protect them."
The middle-aged woman grinned and muttered, "Yes, goblins must pay for what they did…My dear daughter. I'm sorry."
Giliberu sighed.
One month later—
"No answer found," Giliberu muttered, walking under the bright sun.
He leaped onto a nearby tree and took the shade of leaves. 'It's relaxing now.'
"Goblin's fault… And for protection, Creation Goddess didn't create goblin women," he muttered, recalling the answers he was getting.
"What now?" he asked himself, lying on the tree's trunk.
Suddenly, a Boom!
A loud echo alerted Giliberu.
He cast, "Shapeshift."
He transformed into a young man in his early twenties with crimson hair. He picked up golden light armor from his magic pouch and dressed in it.
He placed a heavy staff on his back.
He then dashed out towards the sound.
On the official road, two humans were arguing.
"How dare you question my goddess?" A young man, clad in the golden, luxurious silk robes, barked, pointing his fingers at the young woman in front.
The young woman, clad in luxurious dark black robes, yelled, clenching her fists, "Your goddess of light doesn't stand a chance against my god of darkness."
Giliberu, standing on a large tree trunk on the side of the official road, glanced down.
'Goddesses… gods, tch! How can I forget them?'
