Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 195—Five Elements
A six-foot-tall handsome man, clad in a grey ragged robe, asked, his voice high, "Does he even know that only seven Holy Sages can exist at once?"
His body, one moment transparent, another was solid.
A centaur, human torso rising from a powerful equine body, clad in a clean yellow robe, clad in a yellow clean robe—scowled, "It's common knowledge that Creation Goddess has set a limit—only seven Holy Sages."
A young, beautiful woman with green fox ears on her head, and green nine tails behind her, clad in a grey robe, asked as veins popped around her forehead, "Thalmyr, is he your student? Didn't you tell him to seal his faith once he began approaching Holy Sage level?"
An old man with folded white wings behind his back, clad in a black robe, and holding a white metal stick in his hands, "Thalmyr—"
He was cut off as Thalmyr hissed, "Check his life with your Divine Vision. He won't remain here for long… he will return to his time."
"Time?" All six sages exclaimed.
They used "Holy Sage Arts: Great Divine Vision."
Six sages—a beautiful elf, a spirit, a minotaur, a centaur, a tengu, and a kitsune—
Giliberu's actual life flashed in their eyes—
"Child, I am your mama," a cute jelly blob grinned at another soft jelly in her hug.
"I'm unnamed, I hope I am not an unnamed extra."
"I hereby name you Slime#47."
Killed by a human kid.
"I'll save those cute creatures," Slime#47 clenched his fists and declared.
Training under Elder Slime. Dying again and again beneath Baron Blackwell's soldiers.
Finally killed them… only to be slain by three sealed artifacts.
"Vael, lend strength."
"Go kill them all," sealed artifact Vael bewitched young slime.
"What's your dream?"
"My dream… is to create a safe place for my family, people, and… myself."
"You can do it, my younger self."
"One lifetime, clear the Trial of Order."
---
Silence fell among the sages.
"This…" the elf whispered, taking a step back.
The minotaur sank to the ground, muttering, "How did he withstand it?"
Kitsune's eyes were a little wet, and her fox ears fell down.
Tengu held his stick tightly as wings trembled.
Centaur raised his front legs and roared into the sky with a cracking voice.
The old spirit mumbled, "Even heroes didn't suffer this much before growing up…"
"Suffer?" Thalmyr uttered, his voice low. "It's not suffering that one should look at… It's his will. He stood up again and again…"
He paused, taking a deep breath; he asked, "Now you understand? Why does he need this wish?"
Kitsune said, glaring at the skeleton with soft eyes, "No wonder he raised this much faith in barely a hundred years."
"His soul has been tempered to mortal limits. Only a god possesses a soul higher than his." Thalmyr said, nodding.
All Holy Sages glanced at Giliberu softly and exhaled.
"Very well… I'll temporarily seal my faith, so his faith can improve," the elf declared, clenching her fists.
"Good," The remaining Holy Sages nodded.
Thalmyr, glancing at the sky, said with narrowed eyes, "It's almost time. The gods will descend any moment to break his faith."
"They have no choice… do they?" Tengu said, sighing.
A few hundred meters away—
A flame rose from the ground, taking a humanoid shape—its body still burning crimson.
Whoosh!
A strong wind blew. Another form took shape from white wind, human in outline yet made entirely of air.
Bang!
Soon, three more humanoid bodies appeared in front of them: one was made from the ground, brown mud; another was water; and the last one was blue lightning.
"Everyone, did you sense the changes?" Lightning asked in a sharp male voice, frowning.
"Yes," four nodded.
Fire asked in a fiery male voice, "What do you think we should do?"
Water replied in a gentle voice, "We can only summon the gods."
Mud said in a firm, rough male voice, "We cannot sustain any longer… the beings are losing control over mana."
The four of them nodded at the mud.
They all glanced at each other and held each other's hands.
At the same time, while channeling their power, they yelled, "We, the Five Elements—the foundation of this world—summon the gods...please respond to our wishes."
The sky trembled, earth split open beneath them.
The wind stopped.
Not slowed—stopped.
Leaves hung motionless in midair, refusing to fall.
The ocean far away went silent, as if its waves feared to breathe.
Mana in the atmosphere thickened like wet mud. Even the Five Elements struggled to circulate it.
Clouds vanished above.
Animals and strong beings felt uneasy.
Then—
Huge pressure suddenly descended on the world.
Not from above.
From everywhere.
Whoosh!
On the other side—
Giliberu's body was burning with golden flames born from his faith, which was forcefully keeping him alive.
"Gods finally decided to show up," Thalmyr said, noticing the intense pressure in the atmosphere.
"We must ensure they do not overstep divine law," Elf said, as everyone nodded.
"If they want to check his faith and break it… Let them play fair," Kitsune declared, sitting down on the ground.
Everyone followed. They kept watching Giliberu.
The statues in churches suddenly glowed with bright light.
Priests knelt down.
People who were weak felt something was wrong and rushed to their dwellings.
Strong beings just focused their powers to watch Giliberu.
"Hmm," sages hummed, as every strong being took back their observation skills.
The old dragon with a scar over one eye withdrew his gaze under Thalmyr's cold stare.
Five elements' side—
Whoosh!
A being made from gold-white lightning manifested in front of the five elements, shaped like a humanoid.
Whoosh!
Another humanoid form appeared, as a large golden orb pulsed in his chest.
One by one, gods manifested in radiant energy forms. More than a hundred different-colored shadows surrounded the five elements.
"What is it?" the gold-white lightning shadow asked in a sharp, cold male voice, folding his hands behind his back.
The sky trembled, and lightning flashed as he opened his mouth.
"O King of Gods… why ask when you already know?" the water element asked back, in a gentle adult female voice.
"My lord, you must act… or the world will suffer grave damage." The fire element requested, yet his voice was high and stern.
A green shadow in the shape of a woman said, "King of gods… God of storm and lightning, you have to break that goblin's faith."
A female shadow with a long axe on her back said softly, "Many beings have started to notice their strength falling weak… as a goddess of war, I cannot let my followers get fragile."
A male shadow made from blue energy, holding a blue staff, asked softly, "God king, mana is life itself. Already born are just getting weaker… but what unborn?"
"God of magic…" God King muttered, and his eyes glowed with white lightning.
In a village house—
"Just a little more." An old midwife yelled, holding a young pregnant woman's hand, who lay on a soft bed.
A man clad in a ragged tunic was rushing to and forth beside the bedroom, clenching his fists.
He barked, "Why? Why? If only magic worked… my child and wife wouldn't face this problem."
The midwife, clad in a torn tunic, held a baby far smaller than a normal newborn. She had a bitter smile, as the baby didn't open her eyes. The baby's hands fell limp.
She glanced down at the woman. She was glaring at the baby with a loving look. Raising her hands, she asked, frowning, her voice low, "What's wrong?… my baby."
Midwife, with a wide smile, replied, "Nowadays, due to the mana deficiency, newborns take some time to open their eyes."
The woman sighed. With a soft voice, she asked, "Give me the baby. I'll hug."
The Midwife rejected, holding the lifeless baby, "No—"
She stopped as the young woman's eyes turned dim, her hands raised in the air, suddenly fell limp.
And the same scene unfolded in countless poor households.
The rich relied on powerful items to survive. The poor had nothing.
---
In a dilapidated wooden one-story dwelling.
A five-year-old, adorable, chubby girl, clad in a clean white tunic, giggled, rushing at a young man.
The man knelt down and extended his palms. A young woman glanced at them with a smile.
He hugged the girl and grinned. "Papa came quickly today as you requested… are you happy?"
The girl didn't move.
He pulled her to get a good look.
The girl was pale as she broke into a sweat. Her body was trembling as she fainted.
"Wake up… what's wrong… Mia?" the man yelled, checking her forehead.
The young woman rushed forward, and both of them dashed out to get quick medical aid.
They soon rushed to a nearby church.
A priest clad in a golden robe held the girl.
He checked her pulse and her temples.
He opened her mouth, checked her tongue.
He sighed, handing the girl to her parents.
"What happened to Mia?" the young man asked, his feet tapping on the white marble floor.
The young woman held her hands together tightly.
The priest shook his head. "She suffers from mana deficiency… her mana is too weak to sustain life."
"Can it be cured?" the man asked, holding the priest's hand tightly.
"No—" Before the priest could finish, both of them fell down and hugged the priest's legs. "Please cure her… please."
Priest sighed. "There is no cure."
The young couple's eyes twitched. They turned silent with tears flowing down.
The priest walked away, clenching his fists. 'Yet another kid I couldn't save.'
Mia passed away a few hours later.
---
The white lightning God King declared, "I will break his faith."
He ordered, "Break the time limit."
