Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 231: Can You Tell Me About Big Brother?
Evelyn stood there, forgetting to blink, locking eyes with Logan Shaw, lost in the tenderness of his starry gaze, with his question still echoing in her ears.
Would there still be someone who would love her unconditionally?
She had long since stopped hoping for that.
Ever since she found out Logan Shaw was not her big brother, it felt as if all her life’s belief had been drained away, leaving nothing behind.
She resented, felt aggrieved, sad, and uncomfortable, all because her big brother wanted to be strangers with her.
She tried to control her thoughts not to think of him, as if he had never appeared in her life at all, nor did she hope for his appearance anymore.
But with such a question from Logan Shaw, the flutter and unyielding hope in her heart stirred back to life.
"Will there... still be?" Evelyn’s voice was thick with uncertainty.
"Now it’s an open society, some things, everyone takes in stride." Logan Shaw softly reassured, "Evelyn, believe me, you can pursue the happiness you want."
Evelyn curled her lips slightly, revealing a faint smile.
But her heart was still filled with sadness.
She had years of feelings for her big brother, but his avoidance had clearly shown his attitude towards her.
There was nothing she could do but stop hoping.
"It’s okay!" Evelyn shrugged, her smile deepening, "Actually, my uncle is quite good to me!"
Hearing Evelyn’s words, a faint trace of sorrow appeared on Logan Shaw’s face.
In his view, Evelyn had merely resigned herself to her fate.
Back when she was fighting against it, no one had helped her.
Now, she had accepted that fate.
Logan Shaw couldn’t help but recall how she had drunkenly confessed to Caden Lockwood that he was the one she truly loved.
Yet in front of him, she had never revealed anything.
Did she think that being married made her unworthy of him?
This silly girl!
"I know." Logan Shaw’s voice was heavy, "Evelyn, you’re a good girl, I know that!"
Evelyn glanced at Logan Shaw up and down, then patted his arm with a smile, "Alright! Don’t look so sad! Lefty and Righty, I’ll leave them in your care from now on! They’re really so adorable!"
Logan Shaw nodded, watching Evelyn play with the two little kittens, and the resolution in his eyes grew more steadfast.
"I will take care of them." His tone was full of meaning, "Evelyn, rest assured, I will definitely take care of them!"
After leaving Logan Shaw’s place, Evelyn returned to the villa, Caden Lockwood had not yet returned, and Aunt May was already in the kitchen preparing for dinner.
Evelyn stood by the kitchen door, watching the busy figure of Aunt May, speaking softly, "Need any help?"
"No need!" Aunt May chuckled, "Young Madam, go do your own thing! I’m fine by myself!"
"Aunt May." Evelyn stood motionless, clearly having more to say.
"What is it?" Aunt May asked softly, "It’s rare to see you like this. Could it be... something happened?"
Evelyn smiled faintly, shaking her head, signaling Aunt May not to worry. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Since the day the Mister rescued me, it’s always been you who took care of me." Evelyn’s voice was filled with gratitude, "Though we aren’t blood-related, we have a deep bond, right?"
"Of course!" Aunt May responded.
"Then..." Evelyn bit her lip, asking again, "Can’t you reveal just a little bit of news about the Mister to me? Just letting me see him from afar once would be enough! Don’t worry, I’ll pretend not to know and won’t disturb him!"
