Sold to a Prince!-Chapter 217 The new princess is impressive
Chapter 217 The new princess is impressive
Several expressions passed through Frederick Akhekh's face. Some were of pain and concern, but there was also an unmistakable look of pride.
Roman couldn't believe it. Was this the same person who hated his daughter? It really did not seem like it.
Irrespectively, other things needed to be taken care of at the moment. "Your highness, should I stop her?" Roman enquired.
His voice snapped the King from his trance, and he turned to Roman to nod. "I will take care of it."
The next second he quickly rushed ahead, like a hurricane. A powerful aura seeped out of his body which made the beasts in the vicinity tremble.
The minute he stepped into the circle of beasts, the last ones remaining alive were blasted away. However, not even realizing this, Sylvia still kept fighting.
She was right now just mindlessly hitting the air. Tears dripped from her eyes, and her body shuddered.
It pained the man to see his daughter in such a state. "That's enough, dear. I am here now." He muttered gently.
However, his voice still did not reach the girl. Frederick Akhekh sighed softly and took another step forward to hug the slender figure directly.
He received a couple of punches, but unlike the beasts, those did not do any harm to him. It was more like a small kitten scratching him.
"It's alright. I am here. It's alright. You are safe now." Frederick patted Sylvia, and the girl's body trembled before finally losing consciousness.
Isaac, who had just now arrived at the scene, saw this and gulped at the gory sight in front of him.
More importantly, he saw the King lifting up his daughter and carrying her close to his chest like a small child.
He immediately turned to look at Roman and snickered. "Serves you right, bastard. Looks like the King stole your moment."
Roman glared back at him silently. "She is safe. That's all that matters."
"Sure." Isaac snickered some more and then quickly shut up, feeling the King's gaze on him.
Aha ha... Did he hear me? He gulped awkwardly. These dragons have an unfairly good hearing... Sigh.
Luckily for him, it looked like the King was not in a mood to deal with these things. He sternly looked at the two of them and nodded.
"You both have my gratitude for coming here to find my daughter. Let's leave now."
Roman bowed, and Isaac as well followed him and did the same. Soon the group prepared to leave the area.
While the King, Roman, and Isaac stood on the side, the few royal guards who were also present stepped forward to take care of the other things.
They had to clear the numerous beast corpses littered around the area. Since they hunted beasts for their food, they did not want all of these killings to go to waste.
It was a common practice of the beast kingdom to only hunt for food and survival. They never mindlessly slaughtered any living creature.
Since ancient times this was their first and foremost law. So the group waited for a while and then prepared to leave together.
However, before they could do so, suddenly another set of footsteps echoed in the area.
"Everyone be on alert. We have some company." Frederick immediately stood in a defensive pose on high alert. The others as well nodded and did the same.
But surprisingly, a loud voice rang out the next second. "No need to be so cautious, my King." Following this voice, a group of men walked into the clearing.
Some of them were old, and some of them were middle-aged, but almost all of them possessed an aura that could rival even the King.
"The different clan leaders." Isaac gasped.
Roman nodded. However, he had a grave expression on his face. For some reason, he felt uneasy. As far as his experience went, these old codgers were always trouble.
They included not only other clan leaders but also the different branch family elders and other key figures.
Basically, this group of old men together made up the core strength of the beast kingdom, and they had all come here together. It cannot be good.
"Your highness." One of the old guys smiled, "We just came here to check the disturbance, but it looks like we missed all the fun."
Frederick Akhekh nodded. "That's alright. We have dealt with it. Everyone can leave now." He was not talkative and bluntly replied.
Seeing that he was also about to leave, the same old man chuckled again. "Not so fast, your highness. At least let us take a quick look at your new daughter. Hmmm?"
"Maybe she could attend the next clan meeting?"
The King's face immediately changed.
The old man, however, did not look like he cared about that. "Well, I mean... it a custom after all... that every royal princess needs to follow. Especially one so strong and powerful."
Roman clenched his fist. These men were talking as if they had arrived much sooner and took a look at everything while hiding on the sidelines.
He also never liked this bunch of old men. They were power-hungry and hypocritical and, in the name of their clans, usually spoke a lot of nonsense.
He did not like it one bit that their attention was now on Sylvia.
The old man might have called her strong and powerful, but Roman knew that in his eyes, Sylvia was the weak link to the royal family.
Some might even plot something to bring down the royal family using her as a chess piece. This was going to be a headache.
He would have given anything to hide her from the eyes of these power-hungry thugs.
Roman gnashed his teeth subconsciously, and the guy abruptly turned to look at him. "What are you thinking, Lord Roman? Perhaps you are scolding this old man?"
How did he tell correctly! Isaac shivered as a creepy feeling swept past him, but Roman still continued glaring back.
"That's enough. Let's all head back now. I will bring my daughter to the next clan meeting." This time the King did not wait, and his figure immediately blurred to disappear.
"He He He. The King ran away? This is interesting." The clan elder chuckled, watching the distant sky. "A dragon's speed is truly admirable."
Jealous fuckers. Roman spat out, and then he as well turned to leave. Isaac smiled awkwardly and followed him immediately.
"Young ones these days have no respect."
"Mmmmm."
"Everything will soon change."
"Arrange for the next clan meeting to happen in three days. That girl is not so simple."
The group of clan elders discussed amongst themselves, and soon they as well left the spot.
However, no one realized that the stone gate a few feet away from them was still silently glowing. It was not that they overlooked it, but for them, it was just a stone structure and nothing more.
