Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy-Chapter 500 - 498 Nether Mountain Chronicles
Chapter 500: Chapter 498 Nether Mountain Chronicles
Outside of Truth City, the estate of the Fitzgerald family.
Galif Fitzgerald, known as the King of the Long Sky and regarded as the premier sorcerer, naturally made the Fitzgerald family the foremost in the sorcerer world.
As the leading family, the Fitzgerald estate was exceptionally grand and expansive. Sorcerer towers dotted the territory, and one could occasionally catch sight of century-old castles, millennial manors, and ancient trees that had stood for ten thousand years, among others.
Walking among them would inevitably overwhelm the senses.
However, for Tanaya, all of this had long since become routine, unworthy of her lingering attention.
Tanaya and Grace swiftly flew through the air, soon arriving in front of a five-story sorcerer tower in the ancient manor. Looking around, the sorcerer tower still dazzled with its divine essence, but the manor itself revealed signs of decay.
...
Such a vast place, now eerily silent, with no one else around.
“It’s been a long time.”
Tanaya sighed with emotion.
The manor, of course, used to be bustling with activity. However, since she had encountered difficulties, people there had gradually decreased in number, driven out by her in waves, until only she herself remained, along with Mara, who couldn’t be driven away.
“I’ll go in and pack up; we’ll leave afterward.”
“Okay.”
Grace nodded lightly, watching as Tanaya entered the sorcerer tower while she waited outside.
Knowing her well, Tanaya didn’t say much else.
In a while, Tanaya emerged from inside, resealing her own sorcerer tower.
Just as they came, the pair sped towards the exterior of the manor. They had not intended to interact with anyone else on this trip, planning on a quiet arrival and departure.
“Wait, Tanaya!”
Yet, somebody didn’t respect their wishes, even as they pretended not to notice the commotion.
The other party still quickened their pace to catch up.
Since the pursuer approached from the front, after a chase, they appeared right on Tanaya’s and Grace’s returning path, forcing them to stop.
“Good morning, Miss Grace.”
“Tanaya, it’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other. How have you been? I heard you recently went to Sharp Wind Continent. You seem much more spirited than before, congratulations indeed!”
The newcomer appeared to be a man around thirty-five years of age, greeting the two warmly upon reaching them.
Grace remained her usual self, nodding slightly as a response to his greeting.
“Sorcerer Belaro, if you don’t have other matters, please don’t stand in our way and waste our precious time,” Tanaya said, her gaze cold as she eyed him.
“Tanaya, how can you speak like that? We are siblings of the same family, shouldn’t we help and support each other?” Belaro looked at her seriously, his tone sincere.
“Speak if you have something to say, otherwise get lost. I don’t want to hear your nonsense.”
“Miss Grace, may I have a few words alone with Tanaya, please?”
Seeing that Tanaya remained uncooperative, Belaro, having no other option, turned to Grace, hoping to talk business privately with Tanaya.
“Grace, let’s go,” Tanaya said impatiently, not wanting to listen to his chattering anymore.
“Wait, just a few more words, two or three sentences.”
Although Belaro was seething with anger inside, there was no sign of this on his face. To achieve his purpose, he had to swallow his anger.
“Speak, you have ten seconds.”
“I trust you can discern my current level of strength. To further the advancement of our family’s power, I hope you can bring out your Truth Gem. Rest assured that once I, Belaro, become an Arcane Wizard, I will certainly not let you down in the future. I can—”
“Scram!”
“Half—thirty—twenty—even ten would do—this damn woman, always undermining her own, preferring to aid outsiders rather than her own brothers and sisters of the family! Why didn’t you just die from the start!”
Hearing Belaro’s words, Tanaya left without another word.
Belaro wanted to continue the hassle but found himself bound in place by a force, clearly the work of Gerry, leaving him to watch helplessly as the two walked away, leaving him behind shouting in vain.
Alas, it was all for naught.
Finally, Belaro couldn’t contain his resentment and began to curse.
Like him, a genius witch of the Fitzgerald Family, before Tanaya’s appearance, he had always been the center of everyone’s attention. However, his glory was short-lived as Tanaya emerged and squeezed his genius halo into the shadows.
In his eyes, Tanaya was just relying on the favoritism and partiality of the King of the Long Sky, along with a stroke of luck.
That stroke of luck was Gerry.
When Tanaya was young, Gerry was coincidentally assigned by the family to guard her side, which formed a significant bond between them, leading to Gerry’s rise to the status of a lord-level powerhouse.
Such an occurrence was unheard of, and yet Tanaya had encountered it—what else could it be if not good fortune?
All of these circumstances led to Tanaya’s soaring fame, and she was quickly acknowledged as the number one genius witch of the Fitzgerald family, as well as the most outstanding witch of the younger generation in the sorcerer world.
And he, Belaro, was utterly overshadowed by her brilliance.
How could the heart of Belaro find peace when he was filled with jealousy and hatred!
Nonetheless, he was a rational man; no matter his discontent, he could not bring himself to secretly strike at the eye-catching Tanaya, especially given the formidable power backing her.
Fortunately, the stars were just, and the Alien Race proved exceedingly resourceful, rendering her suddenly a cripple and lifting the dark cloud from over his head.
Since then, that vexing name had vanished from view.
That was until he got hold of a top-secret message: she still possessed a bag of Truth Gems.
How unfair the King of the Long Sky was!
Recently, he had been keeping an eye on her every move.
After waiting so long, he finally found an opportunity; before anyone else noticed, he came to speak reason and stir emotions, but—
Belaro gazed in the direction of the two who had disappeared, his eyes brimming with jealous rage, his fists clenching and unclenching at his sides, unable to let go for a long time.
On the other side.
Tanaya was unaware that someone was going mad behind her, and even if she knew, she wouldn’t care. Considering her past, those envious of her were many, and one more nonsensical fellow didn’t make a difference; there was no need to be distracted by this.

After a while, the two returned to the inner city and headed straight for the center, arriving on 7th Heaven Street at the Great Sage’s Court of the Peak of Truth.
“You’ve arrived just in time. The Cloud Shuttle will be setting sail shortly, heading for East Capital.”
On the Cloud Shuttle’s deck, Ivan leaned on the railing, gazing into the distance, noticing their arrival immediately.
“Where’s Hotter?” Tanaya and Gerry swiftly leaped onto the deck.
“He’s already left, aboard his own Thunderwolf,” Ivan answered casually and chuckled to himself as if remembering something.
Indeed, Hotter had left two days ago, perhaps because his last trip from Sky Flow Valley to Truth City had embarrassed him, prompting his current actions.
If that was true, he really was a clever devil.
“Here, this is the original volume of the Body Double Secret Method book.”
Tanaya didn’t give it much thought and pulled out a volume from her Space Ring.
The book was thirty centimeters long, twenty centimeters wide, and several centimeters thick; overall, it appeared unremarkable.
Ivan’s eyes lit up; he had long learned the language of the Netherworld from Tanaya, only waiting for the promised ‘One Body Three Manifestations’ ancient book.
The name of the book was not any Secret Technique but rather “Nether Mountain Chronicles,” with the title glaringly inscribed on the cover.
